Hello,

i've a problem with my BMIP. I wanna stream/capture my PSP Gameplay with this capture card but i heard that the BMI only support 480p via HDMI.

So which options i have to record my PSP Games?

- Is there a way to set the PSP Outout to 480i or something else?
- A Converter?
- S-Video cable instead of component?

Thanks for you help and sorry for my bad english

Edit: Ok i got 2 hints for this problem.
1. A software option with a softmod and RemoteJoyLite
2. D-terminal

i'll try the first one out.

D-Terminal is the same as component, just a different plug. You can use a transcoder like this one: http://www.ebay.de/itm/NEU-YPbPr-Component-zu-HDMI-Konverter-Signalwandler-spezial-fur-Wii-mit-Kabel-/110758348769

I tested the one I linked on my PSP a while ago on the SC-500N1.

I think the transcoder is a very good solution for my problem.
But i'll only stream Resident Evil 1 so is there no way to lower the resolution? For PS1 classics i don't need the full resolution i think.

But yeah the transcoder is also good for possible future games on psp.

EDIT: Btw i also have a Dazzle Capture Card. But this only supports Composite right?
I think the PSP 3000 can output in 480i, but the PSP 2000 always outputs 480p. I'm not sure about the PSP mini.

Ok i have a PSP 3000. So the easiest way is to set the output to 480i (if this is possible). I'll search for this option.

Thank you for your help.
Fucking Weeaboo
PSP-3000 can support both composite/S-Video and component outputs. The 2000 was locked to component (though could be hacked to support composite, if you had the right custom firmware).

To switch from Progressive to Interlace on a 3000, go to settings, connected display settings, then find Component/D-Terminal Output.

You can also buy this, I've just bought it and it works at upscaling 480p to both 720p and 1080p over HDMI:

HELLO!
Yeah I really had problems getting the BMI Shuttle, at least, to do 480p over component.  A video processor is a good idea if you're going to stick with the Blackmagic.  The good ones can get ex pensive though, when you look at ones like the Micomsoft line (XRGB-3, XRGB Mini / Framemeister) or the DVDO line (iScan VP30, VP50pro, etc.)

Yeah it worked. Thank you! No i have only 1 Problem left:
When i start Biohazard 1 (PSN Download) the card will lose the signal.  I must switch the signal correct? After the PS1 Bootlogo the screen is black.

I just googled and it looks like the PSP-3000 outputs PSX games at their native 240p resolution. I assume the BMI can't capture that resolution.

Edit: Found this in an old thread: https://forum.speeddemosarchive.com/post/recording_psp_ps1_games.html

I just got a PSP 3000 with firmware 6.60, and a launcher for CFW 6.60-LME by Neur0n. How do I get the damned thing to work? I've tried these so far:

Component - No Red, but works, my capture card won't support it though because BMIP doesn't take the 240p resolution the PSP outputs when playing PS1 games

Looks like you're out of luck with component capture on your BMI.

hmm ok. So i've also a Dazzle, but this capture card doesn't support component. Should i buy a S-Video cable and are there still problems witch the resolution switching?
HELLO!
Oh yeah BMI stuff won't even acknowledge 240p's existence sadly.
Hi Exe, sorry I missed your message on IRC.

Yes, use the PSP S-video cable and buy some splitters to split the signal between your Dazzle and TV. That's the only way you can capture it, unfortunately, is through SD. I'm looking into the possibility of D-Terminal forcing the PSP to go into 480i/p mode; I read somewhere that this is possible.
from PAListan
Thank you carci,

but the splitter is only necessary if i'll play on the tv correct? i've no problem to play on the xsplit preview screen...i do this on my god of war runs too and it worked fine. O
Oh yuck, enjoy your lag then. :p

Yes, you would need splitters to play it on a TV.
Fucking Weeaboo
Yeah, unfortunately playing the way you're intending will create some noticeable lag. And for a more action packed game like God of War, this will be a HUGE deal.

CE Labs makes very good splitters. They do have variations that cover your S-Video.

The other alternative that doesn't involve that is to find a PSP cable that has both S-Video and Composite connections on the same cable. They you plug one into the TV and the other into your capture device.

Ohh, normaly i'm a guy who try to avoid input lag as good as i can and i have also a HDMI Splitter. But with the BMI it didn't feels that bad. But you are right: i should use splitter to be sure.

Unfortunately i bought a S-video/composite splitter from CE Labs last year on ebay US and they send me the wrong one without S-Video and only composite.
So i'll stream in composite for the first months, because it's hard to find good s-video splitter in germany and it's very expensive to import one.

Ok thank you everyone for your help. Problem solves!
