The biggest problem is that you seem to have damage resistance after your shield is already broken. It's very hard to kill yourself with the second shot of the clip. That and the fact that you'll only have 5 ammo here after suiciding in the previous area, makes it very very unlikely that you could pull this off in a real run. I tried practicing this without a trainer for a while, and I couldn't get it once.

I get it without the no reload trainer, the timing is: when the next shot will put you on very low life, shot once and reload,then do the death jump (while sprinting). got it on stream: http://www.twitch.tv/andzura/b/392534144?t=135m if you want to see it, but it's obvious that if you do this skip you'll need to buy some ammo before, because I don't think you can get in five shot

Just completed my first full run of the game and got a time of 2:33:38. Only soft lock was on the elevator coming out of Bank of the Prophet where it wouldn't let me activate the button; has anyone else gotten that, and if so, is there a way to fix it short of restart checkpoint?

If that happens again, you can try to leave the elevator and walk back in. I'm not sure this is the exact same issue, but if you take the elevator down from the entrance to the vaults of the bank, the button for you to go back up will be disabled until you fully leave the elevator and come back in. Also, I'm pretty sure that elevator is fubar in other ways. I think if you DO go back up to the top after you enter the bank and then go back down, you'll end up at the top again instead of at the bottom, requiring you to use the button again to finally go down. That said, I doubt very many players ever even used the elevator to try to go back up, so I'm not surprised it's not fully tested =P

Strange thing i came across that i haven't seen yet. after boarding the first lady air ship. first area u come to, i went into the left side room and used possession on the machine for coins. continued around the left side past the cogs n moving grears seeing if i could glitch off the wall at all. came to the very edge and fell off (u can land on a pipe but i missed that) n it warped me to Duwitts office with a door infront of me. i entered the door and it brought me out at the machine i just possesed?

INSANE SKIP !!! or not Sad

Ends in a softlock into the bank... None of the triggers are loaded, the tear isn't there, and doors won't open in front of you. Dying doesn't seem to be changing anything.
Maybe someone can manage to get something out of this...

Didnt try to drop into the cemetary, so I dont know what it does. It could be (at least) a little skip.

I know i'm a little behind, but can someone explain to be the HH skip. Where exactly is the trigger for slate located and do you need the 50% speedboost for this skip to work?

The first HH skip requires you to rocket-suicide at your feet while jumping into the door to the first lady's memorial. The trigger for Slate is located inside the door, but the window is big enough that I've only overshot once out of a couple dozen tries. It should take 5 rockets to kill you from full life, though sometimes it may take 7. You don't need any gear to make it work. Just practice it and you should be able to get it down consistently; I've yet to mess it up in a run.

Also, good race today guys! Was a lot of fun.

Good race indeed. I feel like my execution isn't too awful, but I still end up minutes behind you and Para...gonna have to study the vods Smiley

New PB at least.

Also, nice find grnrngr. It seems like the quest system is really really really stubborn about loading in triggers/quest things unless you've legitimately activated the quest, which is lame. I wish I could think of a way to get around that behavior.

I can easily get the skip into the first lady memorial but I can't get the skip into the corridor (before the slate part) It seems like I need the gear because I can't seem to make it far enough into the room.

Hahaha oh my god. Was just messing around in the HoH final fight with the trainer, and I somehow triggered a legitimate fight with Slate. He ran around throwing lightning at me until I killed him, but collecting the Shock Jockey was the same. Maybe a boss fight that got imperfectly cut from the game? Weird but cool. I think there may be a consistent way to get Slate to open the final door early like what happened in Para's run today...will continue testing it.

Edit: Just found something pretty interesting but probably useless, unless we find an easy OOB in the gift shop or something.

Honestly this fight is so fast that the only real thing you're skipping is Slate's dialogues, and that's not that much time. Kinda cool though :p

Can someone please clarify? I've been trying to get the second door skip into the hallway before slate (after the first lady door skip) Is the 50% speedboost needed to hit the hallway trigger? cause i doesn't seem possible without it

Could you get on-top of the little area where Slate is to see if he has health? This is really interesting from a beta/alpha/cut fanatic view.

Actually, Slate often jumps down from the balcony to fight you. You can indeed kill him, but it doesn't do anything other than softlock the game, until you can get through the door.

Nice, could you possibly record you fighting and killing him? I would love to add that into The Cutting Room Floor.

ALSO: Have you tried killing yourself instead of jumping out of bounds to die?

Yeah it definitely has to be death OOB, otherwise this would be super viable for a real run. I tried dying just about everywhere you can get to, and none of those places spawn Slate.

You know, if the race taught me anything, it's that Hill Runner's Hat is an easy way to fuck yourself over. My run went ridiculously downhill after I picked it up. Definitely seems like the sort of thing you'd want to spend a lot of time specifically preparing for.

There is a way to die OOB in that slate fight, but it's way too slow. You can death jump through the left door in the upper area where the patriot spawns. I've managed to get slate to fight me without a trainer that way. No part of that is helpful for speed running though. It makes me wonder what the devs had planned for that fight originally. They probably scrapped the slate fight due to time constraints. It's too bad you don't get to fight him, it could have been a real boss fight.

I was also trying to jump in front of the shock crystal he throws above the door you exit through and get one of the shards to land on the switch thing, but no luck.
