I've noticed that a decent number of public verifications from this wave have been going through the process in less than the usual two weeks time. If this is going to become a standard thing it might be good to edit the template to reflect that. I missed verifying a few runs because I had allotted time for them in the second week being up.
This is not the giant
With these new standards in place, can I select a run of mine that is currently waiting for verifiers and immediately send it to public verification or do I still have to wait the 30 days?
steak Steak STEAK!!!
Is there any way to ask (as a verifier) that verification be delayed?

I signed up to verify the Legaia 2 run since that's a game I'm interested in and have started speedrunning.  It went up for verification at the end of January, and I signed up because I would have plenty of time in early February.  Now that it's been five weeks and is up for public, I may not be able to verify in the two week window because I'm not going to have time until late March.  That I won't be available to potentially verify seems like a major disservice to the run and the site, since the game isn't too well known or widely speedrun.

Yep, I should have messaged this. Basically, with the current size of the public backlog, I've been trying to get runs through ASAP, so in cases where the outcome was plainly obvious (several clear and well-justified accept responses) I've gone ahead and pushed before the two weeks. I'll post a separate thread explaining the changes I'm trying.

There's no self-service option for this, but for now I can do this upon request for individual runs. Shoot me a PM.

For runs of this type, it's okay to post in the public thread when it goes up (assuming you are available to post) and indicate your intent to verify. As an example, there was a Skies of Arcadia run just over a year ago which took a month and a half to get through public verification, as only a few people had enough fortitude to watch the entire thing. Basically, if the run doesn't get reasonable attention in the two-week "deadline" period, it can be held until later.
I know that one of my public verifications recently, I said something along the lines of "I'm going to verify this in a bit but can't get to it right now" and sent in most of my verifications a week or so later. I guess that you'll be waited for if your opinion is necessary, and if it isn't, you're not really harming anything.

Since the number of runs I think this will affect is pretty low (since you can just pick it going forward), I didn't add a way to change it from the user side, but as Vulajin said you can just ask him. It's a simple checkbox on our side of things.
