What is the best codec to use to put a movie/video on a DVD with a good quality. I tried one thing the other day, and it was playing well on computer, but was frameskipping on the DVD Player.

P.S.: This is not related to speedruns, but it's the only place I know where encoders are known pretty well.

I'm pretty sure mpeg 2 is the only codec you can use besides mpeg 1 which obviously no one would use.

Look for dvd authoring programs.

You can also check to see if your DVD player supports DivX.  Some of them do, so you can just plop a bunch of DivX encoded movies onto a disc and away you go.

Not necessarily. The DivX player has to support whatever profile was used when the movie was encoded.
Well anyway, I want it to be playable on most DVDs, not only the one at home, if it's plays DivX (I didn't check)
