Mass Effect 2 can go suck balls.
Me and a friend have a co-op NG+ run of the Baldurs Gate DA in the works and it's nothing huge yet it's still in the early planning stages just thought I'd throw the idea out there and get some thoughts.
Thread title:
I actually thought about doing a BG DA NG+ run when i get my recording equipment (which I get in 4-5 months). Jumping, ignoring the enemies and items and beating the bosses with some nice magics or strong weapons shouldn't be a problem. Were there any skills which increased the character speed or am I mistaking this for the sequel?
Mass Effect 2 can go suck balls.
The sequel as far as i know but were gonna do it co-op easy w a sorc and a archer cause theyre abilities allow for massive damage especially at when they are high level.
Heh, good luck trying to make that look interesting. As you may know the current run on easy kills pretty much only those you're forced to kill and kills bosses quite quickly, yet it mostly inspires extreme yawning and boredom than anything else. So on what difficulty are you planning to play it? It'd probably be better if it was a higher difficulty level.

Have you tried boosting the Sorceress with the Archer's Repulsion? I don't remember if that works but it's worth a try. Another great thing is you get to abuse the save points' respawn system.

Edit: Oh yeah, the characters have different speeds, too, IIRC, so make sure you take that into account.

Ya the dwarf is slowest followed by the sorc than the arcer is the fastest, the sorc is for aoe during fights like the orb of undead and some things like Ball lightning are incredibly strong againt things like the beholder, and karne, the only real problem is going to be both players moving at the same speed, and in the way of entertainment its not even that fun of a game to watch when played normally let alone fast, but we hope to get it done in a single segment since less luck will be involved though we may make the stretch just before the beholder layer a segment cause those instant kill turrets are run killers and just have like 2 or 3 segments.

The beauty of a NG+ is that we can go through more than once and get the onyx sword for the both of us along with +5 Full Plate and a few hundred healing potions so we could tecinically cut out all the shops and stuff like that and beat the current run if it was a frame by frame copy minus the store. We don't have to hit chests, or weapon racks at all and we will probably only hit the shop once before the onyx tower to replenish or health and rejuv potions before that.

Boss fights will consist of Ball Lightning and Shock Arrows, followed up with a swing or two of the Onyx Sword and game over. Even on hard the beholder goes down in 5 or so ball lightnings. The only problems in this strategy is the last boss as she is immune to lightning and will probably get a hail of arrows/ meteor swarm treatment.
Explosive arrow is surprisingly efficient for the bosses who are immune to lightning, too. I recommend 5-10 recall potions for quick returning whenever necessary (at the very least there's the cellar, sewers, crypts, signal mountain and probably something else, too).

The insta-kill turrets are ridiculously easy to pace correctly. Not to mention you have two players, whivh means you can make one mistake.  In fact it's probably faster to kill Archer off at that and some other points.

The armors didn't have any effect in some version of the game. I didn't miss them during my run, at least. There are also more effective weapons in the game than the onyx sword. For example, my final weapon in the speed run dealt more damage than onyx sword.
Waiting hurts my soul...
Is Drizzt not worth it?  I remember him being pretty powerful for most of the game, although I don't know if he can be played in co-op, and also is only played on Extreme I believe.  I don't have the game anymore, though so I can't really help out.
Mass Effect 2 can go suck balls.
Uh yea I never beat Extreme so I don't have Drizzt and as far as a I know he is only playable in extreme and this run is not going to be done on extreme.
The weapons for this run should be collected from the Extreme mode, though, because they are a lot stronger than anything you can get from the other difficulties. Besides, Drizzt was unlocked by completing Gauntlet mode.

Extreme helps in the leveling, too.
Mass Effect 2 can go suck balls.
Nah Extreme was unlocked by beating gauntlet and drizzit was unlocked by beating extreme and weve already got our weapons.

He's got a decent bow a +5 frost bow I think like 50-70 dmg and a nice great sword, Ive got an onyx sword and a +5 iron shield.

My weapons don't really matter much since I'm going to be spamming magic most of the time.

I can fire a ball lighting down a hall preceeding us and we wont have to worry about enemies at all.
You get to save at the end of the Gauntlet, meaning you have access to Drizzt after that.
Mass Effect 2 can go suck balls.
No it means you have acess to Extreme mode. There is no extreme mode prior to beating gauntlet cause if you unlocked drizzt after gauntlet I would have him available though it may be different on different version and you are on the xbox if I remember correctly I am on the Ps2.
Well you can't choose the guy from the beginning, but you can export Drizzt from the Gauntlet save after clearing the Gauntlet and saving. And of course the Extreme mode is unlocked by beating the Gauntlet, I never said otherwise.

Oh ok I wasnt quite sure what you meant.

YES this is my Real name and NO you cant have it
Well in short we plan on haveing this run out by at least end of april. My friend has pretty much said every thing that needed to be said. My only worry is the gears in 2nd act. The lizard king on the 3rd act and the maze in the "forth act" or tower part of act 3. Other then that i dont think there is any other problum. After all Lvling an archer and caster is very easy compared to geting the speed running down to an exact science.
IIRC the places for the gears are fixed and the maze route in my run should be the fastest possible - I tested all the routes and the others were either slower or as fast (if the map has identical route choices). The lizard king goes down quickly with the Bomb arrow. Other non-lightning arrows and Hail of Arrows should work as well. As for the sorceress, Meteor Shower should work nicely.
