Hi people,
Are you bored of always seeing speedrun marathons ? I think not.
But hey, what about the other games never played in marathons like shmups and rhythm games ?
What if these games could have their own marathon ?
In the past, I organized a french speedrun marathon and I wanted to make something new with new people.
I had the idea to organize a shmup marathon, because shmups, even if they are not THAT popular, are fun to watch for people, and players are not the same.
So, the concept of this marathon is to make an online marathon of good shoot'em ups.
I know that some people here are not good only at speedruns, but can play shmups well too.
I thought it would be more funny to organize such a marathon here and not for example at shmups.com, because I don't want necessary only perfect players on this marathon, some more casual streamers will be welcome.

Beginning : "17 may 2014" at 10:00 GMT+0
End : "18 may 2014" at around 10:00 GMT+0
If there is a date problem with another event, I can possibly change the date.
Be aware that any time indicated on this topic will be at GMT+0

for example, France is at "GMT+2", so the marathon will begin at 12:00 in france.
If there aren't enough people to make the entire 24 hours, that's not a problem, the marathon will still be here.
Maybe there will be bonus streams depending of how the marathon occurs.
You have one training month before the beginning of the marathon, use it well.
What games are eligible ?
Every shmups : manic, run & gun, rail, tube, anyone accepted.
Shooters like Doom, Halo, Left4dead, etc... are not accepted, those are not shmups.
Choose preferably good shmups only.
If there are exceptions, that will be case by case, but I'll be really open with game choices.
Where the stream will be hold ?
I'll create a stream for this marathon.
The stream adress will be given in some days.
Each participant will have a streaming key to directly have access to the stream.
How to participate ?
First Step, the easiest part :
Find your games.
For this Marathon, I'll accept only 2 games per player.
Second Step :
what performance will you do if you play this game ?
- Scoring ?
- 1CC ?
- Just Finishing a game in some difficulty ?
- Speedrunning ? (for games who are speedrunnable only).

Third step :
Send me all the informations.
Who can participate ?
Any player who is atleast enough good (not necessary a hardcore pro gamer), and has already streamed on twitch some times.
Take note that you have to have enough freetime to participate to the marathon.
I mean if you want to participate, try to be really accessible in the marathon's days.
I'll verify if you are able to stream in a good condition.
If you don't want to comment while playing, you don't have to.
Informations needed for the inscription ?
- Your channel on twitch.
- The games you want to run.
- The objectives of your runs (like I said, 1CC? scoring?...).
- A time estimation for your play.
- Your level at this game (Casual ? Pro ? Semi-pro ?).
- Some past replays of the games you want to run (for the verification).
- If commented or not.
- Your time preferences.
Any Rules ?
- Be ready at least 1-2 hours before the beginning of your run.
- Try to not ruin the Marathon with bad behaviour.
- respect other people.
- When you have finished your run, if the next runner is ready, don't take too much time and leave the stream so the next streamer can launch the next game.
- If you ask to participate, you accept to respect all of these rules.
Why are there rules ?
Because it takes so much time to organize a marathon, and sometimes, one person can ruin an event.
Well, normally, there will be no problem, but it's always better to prevent shits happening.
No drama, have fun.
This marathon is for fun, so if you fail, that's not a big deal.
In any marathons there are people who fail their runs, don't be sad, we want to see happy players.
