Attempting the Impossible?

Meet Stakhanov!

Hey guys. In the light of getting my new internet and finally being able to livestream and such, I've thought of trying to livestream what I call the Impossible.

I'm sure every one of you has a game out there with something they'd love to be able to do in it, which is, fundamentally impossible. Not totally impossible, only the chances of doing it are so incredibly slim it's almost not worth trying, but we continue to do it. For me, that's going through Gears of War 2, or Gears of War 3's horde mode on the insane setting, solo 1-50. Even full 5 man teams struggle to get this challenge done and that's with maximum team numbers.

Naturally, it's fundamentally impossible, but every day, I think, aah, a man can dream, and I continue to try and beat it, and will continue to, now live on my stream, in the hopes one day I shall beat it.

In a way, it's similar to the lottery. In Britain, the chances of winning the lottery with bonus is the same as a horse winning a championship race, with no jockey, while blind and running with three legs. But everyone plays it, because we all believe that we might, just might, get lucky Wink

So, what's your dream "achievement" to use that term loosely for gaming?

Mine would definitely be a deathless run of all 500 levels of N. Best I've done on that game so far was beat the first 50 with 9 deaths

Beating Zeromus on low levels in FF4. I've tried in the GBA version using the Edward hide strategy with mixed success(I get a decent way into the fight before screwing up), but to go all out and use the intended party of characters is something I couldn't dream of pulling off. Timing those Kain jumps as many times in a row as is required is something that if possible is in my opinion extremely difficult.

Obscure games ftw

Though I haven't actually tried it yet, beating Rinnosuke in a segmented Labyrinth of Touhou speedrun would be nigh impossible, especially since you'd be around level 80. Normally, people take on this fight around level 100, and one of the better players of the game usually feels comfortable fighting him at level 90 or so.
I'm pretty sure my strategy will work with the party I'll bring in, but I estimate the chances of success to be less than .01%-easily going to be the hardest segment in the run.

Beating no-death mode with all trinkets on VVVVVV, it's theoretically possible for me but dayum it would take some time...

well your definition of impossible sounds quite literal lol

A challenge I'd like to complete is my "0k 0dmg" 100% run http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL1DB368D35FC66841 (not speedrun) of zombies ate my neighbors, but the first boss has unlimited minion spawns so besides me finding a bug to exploit it might fit into your category

Things that sound completely impossible like this probably aren't impossible, but the chances of doing them are just so tiny! I bet one day we'll all achieve what we've brought up, it's just a matter of when. Probably when you've done it, the game will be so old no-one will have heard of it anymore. But we can al hope Cheesy
