This is one such console they produce. Here is the main product page. Does anyone have any first hand experience with these? Especially the Genesis one, because I am considering buying it. Also, would speed runs on it be allowed? It's more of a replica than an original console although it does accept carts.

I just want to know if it is worth the money! I'm hoping that there are some peeps here that own any of these to lend their opinions! Go go go!

HELLO!
Supposedly that platform lasted a long time in South America, so maybe there's a chance it's more compatible than the NES and SNES clones you see, that aren't quite there.

It's not based on the original hardware but a cheap try at emulating it.
Not allowed afaik.

P.S.: Why would you pay 60$ (!) if you could get an ntsc genesis incl. cables and controllers + a bunch of games for that price?

You might get it because its part of a Black Friday sale for 25 dollars and you know it works. In all honesty I was about to post something to ask about the Genesis one because I too was considering picking it up because my Model 1 Genesis has seen better days, though the truly awful sound demonstrated in a review of the console kinda turned me off to the idea.

So even though the reproduction console is an officially licensed Sega Genesis console from Sega, it isn't allowed because it is essentially a licensed reproduction console?
If it's licensed by Sega, I would think it's allowed. Official emulators are allowed, but famiclones aren't.
HELLO!
Just test it hard for accuracy.
Personally, I wouldn't put my money towards any clone hardware (Retro Duo, FC Twin, etc). None of them are as compatible as the original hardware and some games that work don't play properly (glitched graphics, freezing at some parts). Sure it can be convenient to play a couple consoles on one machine, but in the end it's still emulation of the original hardware and it's not perfect.
Decisions decisions hmmm...somebody has to test these things hard, maybe it should be me. Grin I was actually searching Ebay for something to buy and came across a handheld all-in-one plug in to your TV master system and that's how I learned of the AtGames brand. I just want to get an oldschool console to play again. Can't really decide which one..

The Genesis version has 80 games, 40 of which are fairly recognizable by the SDA people and 40 are what I would consider "homemade" games. Games include Sonic 1/2/3 And Knuckles and Altered Beast to name a few. There's also an Atari version.

Edit: I feel like a total idiot posting this as I just viewed the website Shiden posted Tongue

I had an AtGames Mega Drive for a while, it was awful. Whether it was one of the built-in games or an actual cart, it ran at about half speed and sounded terrible. I can't stress enough how bad the sound quality was. (On the plus side, it is how I learned of Gain Ground...)

You're best off just tracking down an actual Genesis.

I'll be buying an original console instead of one of those then. Cheesy Thanks for the feedback.
