#1 99 Sorc on Diablo 2 Ladder Season 2, 8/26/04
I always thought this game was unique... an RPG that doesn't use Magic Points (MP) for casting spells. I just picked it up and played through it normally the other day before my controller broke, and the end boss is really hard. I probably should have gotten a better mercenary, as the robot one (forgot his name) doesn't fare too well. All I remember is that enemies get really hard really fast, even early on in the game. However, it may be to an advantage that they do to power-level. I remember getting off the North Continent (Naskot) at Level 20, way underlevelled. But anyway, this game might be difficult to speed run, but it's unique though in it's own way.

I played through this one quite a bit way back when (at a time when I used to actually rent games  :o). I have it now (thanks ryvnn!) but was quickly reminded of the one glaring flaw I always hated about this game...

The insanely high encounter rate!

Powerlevelling would be almost required at times, and would actually have to be done on a rather frequent basis.
Bosses were rediculously overpowered at times, and there were those few that could only be damaged by certain things (I forgot it's name, but it could only be damaged by the Kormu Sword), not to mention Zaygos/Kaymat for the most part only took relatively decent damage to the Spirit spell.
Killer Chobocos don't get any chocolate.
I would if I had it...

I'm going crazy with my Hybrid Heaven run... and my DVD recorder just died so I'm on break I guess

I have only have one tip:  Elements only go up once per battle and only by 1 point... to level all elements up quickly use spells like FireG (F+Sp) to get a point in each followed by spells which use your other elements in whatever combo you see fit.

Don't forget your MT in Jurayn before the Renegade fight, with some DEF UP you can really cut down that multihit damage.

I knew that it worked something like this, but never knew the specifics...could make powerlevelling a little less necessary if you force level elements as quickly as possible.

Items which cast spells are affected by your affinity (although I do not remember if you can level affinity in this manner)

Also, Affinity increases your defense to that element

Also, Spirit raises all 8 elements in a battle... 1 shotting the battle with Spirit is probably the fastest way to Cap Chezni near the end (assuming the animation isn't too long as far as leveling goes)
I was actually looking into speed running it. I have my childhood copy of it actually. It seems like it would be up my wheel house. I am going to start looking at the tas and other work on it and take note to see if this is doable or improvable on
