Quote from The_Quiet_Man:
Below is a picture of the error that comes up when I try encoding with Version 3 Beta 2. I should note that I didn't instal Beta 3 Version 1 because I thought if 2 was out, it included everything I needed.

Haha... you found a bug. Can't believe I missed that before release.

FIX: Open \Program Files\anrichan3_beta2\dgmpgdec150rc5\DGIndex.ini, set Use_MPA_Extensions to 1.

The new version of dgmpgdec is writing mpa as mp1/mp2/mp3. Anri-chan ends up using wavsource with mp2. Turn on the flag and it'll write the correct mpa extension.
No clue what's going on here, but my videos aren't encoding with this newest version. =[

Post the avs scripts.
That would be (directory name).avs, correct?
*.avs in your project folder.

Beta 3 is out. Please break this thing.

Changes since 3 beta 2
- Added a main menu, and removed desktop shortcuts to sample and statid.
- Ipod / Xbox 360 / PS3 compatibility
- Separate the DVD rip procedure: avoid repeat rips, user can have more than one "dvd" on hard drive to encode at same time, join DVDs into one project.
- Change destination of DVD rips via ini.bat (open in text editor)
- Allow NMF for D1/F*
- Use DGMPGDec 1.50
- Use a more up to date version of x264

*Eagerly downloads*
I just downloaded beta 3, here's my thoughts:

-I am really annoyed by how the text loads really slowly each time the screen refreshes. This wasn't in past builds and I don't see any need for it.
-The new color scheme is really putrid.
-The encoding speed is faster for me, maybe 50% more than usual.
-The other features are also pretty cool, except I don't like how I'm forced to copy my DVD file onto the C drive.
-Having the finished video file in its own folder is a nice addition.

So overall I'm pretty meh about this :/

I'm guessing you were on 3b1 before, since most of your comments are for features added in 3b2.

As per what I wrote in the changelog: - Change destination of DVD rips via ini.bat (open in text editor). It's not obvious though, and I already put it on the to-do list.

What kind of computer are you running? You say the text loads "really slowly", are you exaggerating or is this really the case?

Just a question i have considering a certain AVI file i have using anri-chan. When i tried it in anri-chan the audio was desynched so i imported the avs scripts into MeGUI and it gave an error like "height must be a multiple of 2" (it's not there anymore when i imported the script in from 3.)

I was just wondering if it's possible to fix the desynch.

--------------------------------------------------------

The res text file said, "716,350"

On the encoding window,

avis [info]: 640x480 @ 23.97 fps (11669 frames)
x264 [info]: using cpu capabilities: MMX MMX2 SSE SSE2 SSE3 SSSE3 Cache64
mp4 [info]: initial delay 1067 (scale 25576)
encoded frames: 12/11669 (0.1%)

Here is the avs script,

import("C:\Program Files\anrichan3_beta3\nate.avs")
import("C:\Documents and Settings\Greg Innes\Desktop\fdcx\plugins.avs")
directshowsource("C:\Documents and Settings\Greg Innes\Desktop\AJLOTRAscension.avi")
converttoyuy2()
global pal = (last.height==576) ? true : false
global f1 = (pal==true) ? 50 : 59.94
WriteFileStart("resolution.log","last.width",""" "," """, "last.height")
global d1 = true ? ((pal==true) ? 704 : 640) : ((pal==true) ? 352 : 320)
pal==true ? d1==704 ? lanczos4resize(704,576) : lanczos4resize(352,288) : d1==640 ? lanczos4resize(640,480) : lanczos4resize(320,240)
run=converttoyv12
statid=nate_statid_d1(run,"","","").Lanczos4Resize(run.width,run.height)
run
changefps(last.framerate)
converttoyv12

--------------------------------------------------------

As i say, i only get desynch with this one file so i'm okay. I'll try it in the PS3 soon.

I also tried this is MeGUI and i get the same desynch so it must be something to do with the AVI.

Try changing this line in the script:

directshowsource("C:\Documents and Settings\Greg Innes\Desktop\AJLOTRAscension.avi")

to

avisource("C:\Documents and Settings\Greg Innes\Desktop\AJLOTRAscension.avi")

You can run that through anri-chan if you leave project_job.bat alone (it rewrites the avs scripts when you make a change). Or just use MeGUI. Let me know if there's still desync.

edit- and of course, check the source file itself for desync.
thethrillness.blogspot.com
That fixed it.(worked in anri-chan) Smiley

Thanks.
You're absolutely sure that changing to avisource is the only factor that fixed the desync? Can you try once again with both directshowsource and avisource?

This may prompt a significant rewrite of how we handle avi files.

Well I'll put it this way. Instead of each screen changing instantly, I have to watch the little "metroid 2002 speeddemosarchive anri chan 3" header load up, along with all the text that comes after. It's not slow per se, just annoying compared to the instantaneous nature of beta 1, which used a black background and white text.

And my computer's brand new, I bought it about 2 months ago.
thethrillness.blogspot.com
Yeah avisource is the only thing that stops the desynch.

When i play the original AVI file it is widescreen but the encoded MP4 is like 4:3.

If you want to experiment further, you can download the AVI file here,

http://hitmanyr2k.com/AJLOTRAscension.avi

As for text loading slowly, not on my machine.
Sorry to be a nuisance, but I'm also having a problem with the Station ID. This might be a problem in past builds, though, since I've had missing characters before. Anyway, when I input my last name as "Grossé" into the first line of the Station ID (and likely anywhere else), the "é" magically dissapears. Is there a way to fix this, or will I have to settle for a regular e?

You'll have to get used to it. This is Psonar's implementation though, so he may know something.

Good... not sure how the hell I'm going to fix that.

You're most likely using the wrong settings. When anri-chan finishes enoding, it creates a log file in the finished folder. It shows the settings you used, and the contents of the avisynth scripts. Please be sure to attach the file when you make a new post.

Thanks for uploading that vid. I see some other bugs that need fixing.

Batch code is pretty finicky with what characters you can use. For example, stay away from exclamation marks completely.. Anyways, I'll take a look.
Quote from AnubisGI:
so i imported the avs scripts into MeGUI and it gave an error like "height must be a multiple of 2"

The fix in beta 4 will be similar to this code.

For HQ+, replace:

last.width > 640 ? Lanczos4Resize(640,round(last.height*(640.0000/last.width))) : last

with:

last.width*last.height > 640*480 ? Lanczos4Resize(640,round(last.height*(640.0000/last.width))) : NOP
last.height % 2 == 1 ? AddBorders(0,0,0,1) : NOP
last.width % 2 == 1 ? AddBorders(0,0,1,0) : NOP

For LQ/MQ, replace:

last.width > 320 ? Lanczos4Resize(320,round(last.height*(320.0000/last.width))) : last

with:

last.width*last.height > 320*240 ? Lanczos4Resize(320,round(last.height*(320.0000/last.width))) : NOP
last.height % 2 == 1 ? AddBorders(0,0,0,1) : NOP
last.width % 2 == 1 ? AddBorders(0,0,1,0) : NOP

Beta 3 is actually resizing your widescreen vid from 716x350 to 640x313 which results in that "height must be a multiple of 2" error. It should never happen again with the 2 extra Addborder lines.

I'm attaching 2 log files that may or may not be of use to you. One is the desynch(direct source) and one is the in synch video(avisource)

They both say DSource_job.bat as after i did the directshow encode, i just changed the LQ script to avisource.
thethrillness.blogspot.com
Avisource attachment.
Ah.. you answered no to the "is this a pc game capture" question. Even though the video you're working with is not a game capture, it still needs to be treated as such. Otherwise it thinks it's a NTSC or PAL video with the usual ~4:3 aspect ratio. You can change project_job.bat to (SET isPCGAME=y) and it'll rewrite the avs scripts. Then you can apply the manual fixes in my previous post.
thethrillness.blogspot.com
I answered yes and i got this,

width or height not divisible by 16 (320x156), compression will suffer
Don't worry about that, you won't notice the quality loss. It's just a warning, unlike the mod 2 thing where you error out.
thethrillness.blogspot.com
I think i failed with adding in the code you sent me. I added it in which i think was the right place but still get desynch.
You said avisource fixed the desync...
