guffaw
is mp4nerf in this ? I've just noticed a (theoretical) bug in it which I'll fix when I can be bothered rebooting into windows.
It isn't. To be honest it completely slipped my mind, though it would probably be a separate program anyways.
it's not a huge deal, it's just that I've come to realise that fread() does different things depending on the OS. On win32 I think it behaves like I assumed it did, but it ought still to be fixed.
torch slug since 2006
Ah sweet. Multiple AVI loads.
5 + 4 = 9
Anri-chan is a really relaly great program! I used it and it was so easy to understand! The beta seemed alright to me. I never tested everything on it but yeah. Many thanks!

This is what I like to hear. Still, if there are areas that can be clearer, let us know.
just installed this on our new 8-core machine in the lab where i work. have to say i'm impressed with the installer. uninstall is nice too. might want to put the three anri-chan shortcuts also in the start menu group - or just completely not put them on the desktop at all - or just put only the main one on the desktop, or something. thoughts?

also, what are going to call the final program files dir? anrichan3? or anrichan3.0 or something? i ask because it would be nice to be able to write scripts that call things in the anrichan dir without having to run some kind of library function that sets the anrichan path variable in every one of them so that every time the dirname changes all the scripts don't break (whew). same goes for paths to plugins in avisynth scripts. i mean personally for me i don't use the main anrichan interface but i use everything else as a kind of toolkit i can pop open on a given doze install.

also at some point we need to update the anrichan docs in the kb, so do we have any volunteers for that? it shouldn't be too bad, just need to go through step by step and make sure everything is accurate, just a bit of new info for e.g. nmf added, etc. if no one else wants to do it then i will but i can't promise when i'll get to it. could be a month from now or even more.
1-Up!
I just want to say how impressed I am with the anri-chan software.  Honestly, I'm completely computer retarded when it comes to anything more complex than microsoft office, surfing the web, or playing minesweeper.  Yet I was able to extract a sample video, make quality samples, and can now upload my own segments without even having to look at the knowledge base.

Excellent job guys, this software really helps to simplify the run submission process.

Id rate it at stupidproof/10.
always good to hear.

also, while i'm being pedantic - proper capitalization is anri only, not chan (referring to the start group).

I noticed the start menu thing. For desktop shortcuts, I'd say all or none. Best thing would be to have a screen on the installer with checkboxes for desktop shortcuts.

The uninstaller is currently only uninstalling anrichan and lagarith, not AviSynth. Again, best thing would be to have a screen with checkboxes.

Well, correct me if I'm wrong, 1 pixel bob stops shaking. Well it hasn't when I encoded my new segment 1 sadly. Either that or it was shaking too much for one pixel.
Use the sample extractor so we can take a look.

Actually, shaking too little for one full pixel.

I have no idea what console this is for, but I do know that these settings are correct: one pixel - n, nes - n. After that, if it's neither GB or GBA, say yes to the deflickered question.

And on that note, you helped find a bug. The setting for deflicker wasn't being saved to job.bat. It'll write the correct avisynth scripts the first time, but if job.bat regenerates those avisynth scripts, it won't do the deflickering.

Thanks!

this is really a can of worms ... i don't have much time atm but i will say this much, that if whatever that is is on the wii virtual console, then it is neither nes nor wii but a combination of both (nes + deflickering) and that i have no idea how to convey that to the user.

Thanks Ballofsnow, I know how to do this damn encoding for my PAL Silver run. Yayz. Grin

EDIT: I got no Deflickered Question, but it says deflickered. I'll assume this is anri-chan remembering stuff.
one thing we might want to test before releasing beta 2 is to input an interlaced avi from a capture card and see if anri-chan causes chroma ghosting due to converting it to yv12 or similar without interlaced=true (if necessary).
May already be fixed from a while ago. A converttoyuy2 gets stuck in there after the avi source lines.
but it's not causing chroma ghosting, right?
There's no conversion to Yv12 until after the deinterlacing. So no chroma ghosting.

nate: 2008-04-20 05:22:50 am
how do we mvbob rgb stuff then? mvbob only accepts y*.
Edit history:
ballofsnow: 2008-04-20 05:39:16 am
mvbob accepts both yv12 and yuy2. Converttoyuy2 goes after the source lines.
wow, i didn't know yuy2 wasn't chroma blending.
Just so we're on the same page, we are talking about the same issue we had with mpeg2source and having to add an upconv=1?
