I don't. That is why I ask. I only know it will use the crf + 2-pass technique.
There was a problem loading the videos.

The screenshot below was made using 3.2, Windows XPsp3, with recordings of the PC game Homeworld.

if you want you can upload one of those videos and we can look at it. in any case you'll probably have to use virtualdub to dump a new master file (uncompressed or lagarith or something) and then input that to anri to encode.

I experimented a bit and individual videos will get past this step, even small groups, but all of them together won't.  I think the length might be an issue as all of these recordings should be fairly homogeneous.

So, worst case scenario I append several videos.  This still makes me sad since I have a fairly large trim array written down that applies to the totally appended vid, and I don't want to abandon it ><

Edit:  Made a job file telling it to include only one segment initially, and trim all but nothing off.  And then I edited in a file list and trim array from a previous .bat made with anri 3.0.  Encoding going well so far...

edit2:  I also needed to edit X.bak in addition to job_X.bat

edit3:  and the avs files

An XQ failed to encode, somewhere near the end of encoding apparently.

I'm told that 14 gigs is a low amount of free space to encode with, so I moved anri's init whatever folder to my terabyte.  Although, the XQ stats file that remains is only 3 gigs.  I dunno how the stats file and final file size correlate.

I have this large file called hw_XQ.stats.mbtree.  Is there anything I can do with it to avoid another 18 hours of encoding?  The encoding failed again for a different reason, but also related to the audio.
I encoded an IQ and XQ of some video today and at the end of the process it was giving me errors about 45.txt (The encodings were fine), has this thing been mentioned before?
I've attached the log where you can see a lot of 45.txt's.

Did you notice a line "encoded x frames", like you did in your last post? If so, that means that the video is fine, and you don't need to redo it. You just have to redo the audio.
Btw, is there a reason why the audio is done last? To my experience, it should be done first in order to avoid situations like this.
I got it to work eventually.  Moved everything to the anri folder and started over.  LQ and XQ both encoded fine so far.

What language is your OS?
If you open a command prompt and type the following what is the result?: echo %time%

Hey, I know I posted about this before and it wasn't a big deal with the higher qualities, but I'm getting the level limit thing in MQ encode. I remember that this was the only setting that you guys had wanted to keep compatibility, so wasn't sure if I should do something different to avoid exceeding it. Since this game is recorded with replays, I could do 480i over composite (480p over hdmi is bugging out my capture card or I'd do that) if it's an issue.

Aftermath, I asked nate this in a pm awhile back (also MQ). His response,

"it's basically saying zomg someone's ipod might not be able to play this. but all the hardware people have ever tried mq on it's worked so you don't have to worry since i don't lol."

Nate said I should post this problem in tech support.  I hope this is an appropriate place.

I learned to use anri-chan this past summer and have encoded several videos now, but I currently have a problem.  What should I do if anri-chan only rips a small portion of what's on a particular disc? I have a dvd here with about 2 hours of video, but I can only rip about three minutes of it, and this happens on both of my computers.  The video stops in the same place on each. Is there a way around this problem? Nate said I should be able to "manually input the .vobs to anri," but that I should check here about that.  Keep in mind I'm a bit of a tech-tard, so laymen's terms if possible.

And if there is no fix, is there any other program I could use that you would recommend, at least for obtaining the vobs I need?
Anri attempts to rip the DVD by first reading the IFO files. If there are no IFO files present then it simply reads the VOB files as input. Try moving only the VOB files to "C:\AnrichanMPEG\somename\".

Thanks for your answer.  I tried what you suggested.  It seems the disc is corrupted after that point, because even the vobs have this issue.  I'll try to burn the video to DVD again and see if that fixes the problem.
So I've noticed you use mvbob to interlace the most likely pure interlace sources.  I suggest you try QTGMC Deinterlacing Script (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=156028) instead for deinterlacing.  I think it will do better than mvbob.
the section on multithreading support is particularly interesting. anri users may gain performance and quality at the same time. this needs to be tested though and i just don't have the time right now.
If you think about it, we've been using mvbob since 2006! There must be something better by now, eh? I'll check that out some time.
Jack of all Trades
Newb question that I couldn't find the answer to anywhere: is it possible to encode multiple files with the same settings without appending them into one file? If so, how?
I recently encoded a 60 fps PC game video with lagarith lossless codec from the mupen64 emulator. Then, I used anri-can to encode it to a HQ mp4 file and the resulting video looked fine when played in vlc player. However, when the mp4 file was uploaded to youtube the video went into slow motion while the sound maintained regular speed. How did this happen and how can I change it?

I think it's more related to the container.  Remux it in MKV, and you be fine.  I have had no problems with b-adapt or weightp in YT.
Thanks, as this was a video not for submission here I just encoded the .avi video with virtualdub at 30 fps and it worked fine with youtube.
