Main Work!!!
Thank for all the information, I didn't read update 1.2, the only thing I had notice on this one was remember and Justine.
So from now on, when my speedrun will be done I'll have to put frictional game in my thank for making update that actually speed up our speedrun(instead of removing the glitch."quite friendly I'd say") Tongue .
IIRC, you do the storage in about 1m40 so it won't change a thing for you

Quote from Apjjm:
not use the acid properly leading to people getting stuck in the storage.

What do you mean by that?

Also how do you do the first jump in the water shadow chase(archive tunnel) because I succeed a couple of time but didn't really know how I did it.
What?
The water lurker chase? that is done off the barrel, but is really random.
Quote:

It was just a fix they pushed out for exactly that issue, as a lot of people were getting glitches with the slime so they just made sure you had the right pot after that map, i think it was changed in the Justine patch along with a few other things. They have the patch notes somewhere on the frictional games forums.

Main Work!!!
Found a new trick in the choir that save up to 20 seconds when performed well.
I won't explain the first part, I think you'll find it obvious.(it can easily be done at the first try, this video is pathetic sorry, don't know why I fail so much)
For the next part, Once your on the pipe continue till you arrive to the torch and continue walking till you fall and you should get a huge boost and if you jump at the right time on the other pillar that huge boost can be continued(but I don't do it in this video)
Also you can do a boost on each pillar(you probably already know this) and lamentably I fail every one in this video Tongue .
So here it is:

Main Work!!!
It's done!!!!
I'm done with my SS speedrun, I did no big mistake but a couple of smalls and I ended up with a final time of 39m29s!!! Cheesy .
I'll try to post this later today and I'm very satisfied and I couldn't do better even with additional weeks.
Main Work!!!
Amnesia: The Dark Decent Single-segment Speedrun(39:29)
I won't try improving it for the moment, it's far better than what I had in mind (initial time was 45min.) There's a couple of glitch that I usually fail about 2/3(2x in the sewer(rock glitch and my jump from the pipe to the little corner))and the jump to go to the morgue I give myself about 10 times because it's the hardest glitch I do(at least he don't kill me when I fail.)and I had it in 5, that I succeed in this one and I usually say if I got those good I'll continue even if I do a big mistake and there wasn't. Sure the run if full of little mistake and it's not perfect but I can't do better so thank to everyone that help me on this run and everyone that'll look it. So I'll return to my glitch-less improvement.

Part 1

Part 2

Part 3

Main Work!!!
I found a way to skip the entrance hall(including the entrance hall)
Glitch I found, it can only be done on a Segmented because you have to reload. So here it is, 1- you enter the door(from old archives to entrance hall) 2-save and quit 3-load and spam left click(action). I think the explanation is that at a moment in the loading, the door to the refinerie is load at the same moment that daniel is load so if you click at this exact moment daniel can open the door.

Main Work!!!
hey btw, I look at your "Justine" speedrun and if you feel like restarting it, you can save about 8 to 11 seconds if you just overrun the monster after the library, he's easily avoidable  and he don't run that fast and beside this I think it's quite perfect and you did a good job. It's just that on a 4 minutes and a half speedrun, ten seconds could be interesting.
Edit history:
Apjjm: 2011-06-22 08:53:40 am
What?
Firstly, just got round to watching your with-glitches speed-run, it was superb, the execution was great throughout, there were moments where you could have been less cautious but they were late into the run, and were mere seconds.
That entrance hall glitch is sick, tested the approach on all the other maps to no avail sadly. But that, alongside the cistern improvement should see my segmented run hit a time of 25 minutes, if not below that, so yay! Speaking of which, It will be a month until I continue my run, this is down to me moving out in a couple of weeks (won't be running until that is sorted) and then I am away for a further two weeks. Part 4 of the run will be up towards the end of July barring any technical difficulties.
The "Justine" run I was planning on improving further anyway, there were easily 6-seconds of mistakes in it already, so with a more aggressive approach to the library suitor I would only settle for a time under 4:10 - I will probably take another batch of tries for this after Part 4 is up.
Main Work!!!
Thank and good luck with everything!!!
For what you say, yeah I was very cautious because I didn't want to restart for something like falling in the OOB because I miss jump while going fast just in front of the Inner Sanctum Tongue . Also like I have problem encoding my LQ and MQ I'll take this time(while finding a way to get rid of this problem) to improved my with glitches run(where I'll take incredible amount of risk(trying to beat the 35 if it's possible) and if It don't work, at least, I'll have my older run. For my glitch in the entrance hall, before posting it, I check everywhere from every door possible a dozen of time each to be sure and that's why I came with the explanation I wrote(loading the cinematic concentrate on the door at the same time daniel load because it don't work anywhere else.) BTW I'm also moving but tomorrow so for the rest of the day, I'll try seeing the most friends I can before I go and I'll be back around in about 3 days. For your Justine, I'm sure you'll do better and not for SDA but for my personal pleasure I'll be doing a about 5m30 to 6m30 run of this with saving everyone with the help of two of your glitches, thank Tongue
Main Work!!!
Hey, can you help me with something,
like you know when we go for the first time in the chancel(with all the orb pieces) we trigger the monster to get us but I wondered myself, like there is a way to not trigger the automatic kill you line to go to the Inner Sanctum(but the door don't have a connection so the game crash) is there a way to skip the the kill you line up to the nave door by getting OOB(and this place is full of getting OOB way) and I ask myself, is we go in the nave and come back in the chancel or if we get kill in another place like the nave(does this still trigger the Sleep)or is it really the sleep cinematic that trigger the creation of a connection of the Inner Sanctum door.
What?
The second nave & chancel is a completely different map to the one before you get captured (look in the map folders "ch02" and "ch03"), so there is no way to skip getting captured unless FG purposesly fixes the door to the inner sanctum (which they won't do, as you shouldn't be able to get there anyway). You probably can get back to the door to the nave, but that won't really help, as you need to get captured to transition to the ch03 maps.
Main Work!!!
Yeah and I succeed doing what I told you to try and realized at the moment I jumping in the OOB to open the door, that the door was locked. I should have look at this before trying all this.
So now I think I have about all the glitch that could speed up my SS, because if there is another glitch it is only going to be in the Cellar Archives because there is a lot of place where your character "jingle" but I can't succeed getting through the wall, so I'll check for this and restart doing attempt (I'll use the same route but I'll use your nave route(finally found the angle for it) my Archive Tunnel will be OOB, my storage will be more fluid with a new 2 seconds saving trick Tongue and the rest of the route more fluid and with more risks) .
Main Work!!!
I've improved my Glitch-less speedrun, I'm now up to 53:54 which is a 3:16 of improvement upon my last one.
Also, even if I jingle about everywhere in the cellar archive, I didn't succeed getting through any wall so I'll forget about this one and I'll start working on the improvement of my "with glitch" run.

Main Work!!!
Here's my speedrun of Justine Saving everyone. My definition of saving everyone is to save them in the action that is supposed to be done to save them or to prevent them from being killed. So with this definition I save the first one by using the small ladder instead of passing through the rock slide to save about 45 second and not killing him, for the second one I use the slides and for the third one I close the door so he won't be killed(even if I do it from OOB). I did a lot of considerable mistakes and eventually I'll probably do an improvement run. Thank to Apjjm(AGuyNamedBob) for finding a couple of trick/gliches I use in this speedrun.
FINAL TIME: 6:08

Timing note: The timer start from the first sound of Justine in the first fade in and Finish at the "And so it comes to an end", loading are include in the timer.
Main Work!!!
Apjjm, can you tell me if there is a angle trick or thing like this for your Nave glitch cause I have over 7 glitch that have about 15% or less chance to work before the nave and when I die there, it kind of kill me a little bit in the inside every times Tongue . So if you have a trick for this glitch, it would be nice.
Main Work!!!
Amnesia: The Dark Descent Speedrun plan(32:00)Final Goal Sub 32

Rainy hall/old archives
Pretty usual I’d say

Entrance hall 1
These 3 jump are almost impossible to get on the first try

Entrance hall 2/Refineries
Getting OOB from there without a chair is also very cruel
In the refineries, the improvement is: like I didn’t succeed to make the box disappear, I decided to close the door in front of the monster.

Cellar Archives
This segment have nothing very hard in it, could be faster with the flesh(only one work, so I could have save 2 second there)

Archives tunnel
This is pure luck(about 45% that the barrel trick work) in the rest I almost fall which usually don’t happen

Back Hall
Lame jump on the stair

Storage/Back Hall/Guest/Back Hall
One of my favorite part of the game-Three monster dodging(one that I throw a box in is face since I’m going to use this box later in the storage). Pretty like what I want in my final Speedrun. The back hall and the Guest were a disaster(could save up to 7 second).

Study
The shovel glitch is a pain to get on the first time and the rock slide is very hard.

Back Hall/Machine Room
Back Hall went ok and like usual, the machine room was sadly a disaster(at least up to 10 seconds could be save here)

Elevator/Prison Northern
Never know what to do in this scene(Elevator) and the prison went very bad overall, only in the northern part, about 10 to 12 sec. could have been saved

Prison Southern
Miss the rock glitch a couple of times and that’s it

Entrance of the Cistern/Morgue/Entrance of the Cistern
Miss the glitch a couple of times and the morgue was ok and my skip the cistern glitch went bad, I usually do it from the first at every try

Sewer 1
That’s a perfect vision of what I want in this part of the sewer

Sewer 2
Almost fall a couple of times but the rest was ok

Nave 1/entrance of the Choir
Very fast fluidity in the glitch(what I aim in my final speedrun)

Choir/Entrance of the Choir
Almost perfect but I could save seconds if I kill myself after the last orb pieces

Nave 2
Ideal situation of this glitch(which won't happen)

Nave 3
Could be faster

Transept/Nave 4
The transept went well, the orb pieces cooperate unless some time. The nave was a disaster since it was the third time I use this route in a month so I didn’t know it by heart at this time, had problem with the door and the jump which usually don’t happen.

Chancel 1
Almost perfect, it’s faster to be killed by the invisible line behind me than the one in the front or two grunt attack.

Cells/Nave 5
Cells was good except I miss the jump once and the blood part could have been faster with jump boost. The nave was worst than the previous one :S .

Chancel 2
Was pretty much what I expect in the final result.

Inner Sanctum
I didn’t pull the switch but in the final Speedrun I’ll do it for a security, I’ll try to think in the final Speedrun (Hint: ”You need a lantern before one can be turn on”) Tongue .

Orb chamber
Almost perfect (lost 0.4 second between the 2nd and the 3rd and the music of the shadow chase continue since I didn’t pull the switch.)

Final cinematic Plan(I don't do exactly that in here)
-Light the torch in the nave
-Falling OOB in the sewer
-Either light the candle or opening the door in the archives tunnel(depending if I grab the storage tinderbox)
-Pick the Large Oil Potion in the entrance Hall.

Final time: 32 minutes in 24 parts. This is my final plan with one or two exception. My final goal is sub 32. A perfect run could Sub 31, but I’m not able to do this. Eventually subbing 30 could be possible but it won’t be by me(exploiting the storage Apjjm do in is segment run,  more elaborate barrel trick he also use in the archives tunnel, elaborate the abuse I found in the morgue that consist to three perfect glitch so we could get in front of my skip the cistern glitch between the second and the third cinematic of the morgue and being overall flawless).  For the moment subbing 32 minutes will take me between 80 to 150 try(if everything goes well).  I still didn’t find a way to convert my video correctly(For LQ and MQ), so I’ll contact Nate soon for this and I'll do the HQ Myself.

What?
I am impressed at how reliably you can do the archives barrel boost, that was the bane of my life in the segmented run.
Quote:

This surprises me, i think using the shovel in the study seems at best the same speed as using the windows, and failing once easily landing it in slower catagory.

The nave glitch is just about making sure not to move forward too much, as soon as you are through hold back and you should stick to the wall.

Am still working on segmented run btw, will get back to recording segments perhaps next weekend, as soon as i have finished my latest little modding project.

Do you have some trick I could use(regardless of the difficulty, at least I could try to analyze them) from the sewer to the end that I don't know. Also, if it interest you, I could show you the way I found in the morgue and you could master it and I think you're able to speed this up. Also found a way to get OOB in the Rainy hall but didn't find a way to exploit it(this too I could upload a video, if you feel like searching a bit if it's possible).

The normal way for me(like I'm very insecure in the study) is about 2 seconds slower, so I think for 2 seconds I'll forget about this.

The problem with the nave is that when I play safe I get through the pillar(not on the other side of the wall), so I have to reposition and retry every time.

BTW, I cannot wait to see the rest of your speedrun.

EDIT:For the study room, I didn't know I didn't have to jump between each windows so now I'll take the normal way, it's faster. Now, I manage to do the Archives tunnel glitch(between 5 seconds) at a high% rate of 85% Smiley . For now, the Entrance Hall and the Nave are still giving me bad time(Entrance Hall(All glitches include done relatively fast)is about 2 or 3% and the Nave, I miss about 4 time on 5. Also, what is your modding project.

What?
There is a stupidly hard glitch right at the start of the sewer that is an angle glitch on the right hand wall half-way down the ladder (I only did it once with 2 segments just for the jumps) in an afternoon of solid trying, so i doubt you could really use that. I am interested in the morgue route, btw ;). Can you use the instant skip in the entrance hall if you come from another map or re-spawn from death (by falling OOB)?

Edit: You'll probably see the mod project thread get posted on the FG forums sometime this weekend, if i get round to working on some more scripting.

I do it after I reenter the map(so you can see everything without any flashback but still in the last part I bleed quite badly because I over-jump so it's hard to see), I do it pretty quick in this one but everything can be done during the flashback speed, except the last part, I never succeed but maybe it's possible.

The entrance Hall, I personally never succeed to do my glitch other than loading from the menu screen, even with multiples try and I didn't find anyway to get OOB faster(without save and quit glitches) than the traditional chair one and the one I use in my plan(but I didn't try the approach) and for the sewer, I'll try to check this tomorrow.

EDIT: There's another way to do the last part without taking damage, but it's falling in the place I fall in this video, but you go right and you'll be stuck between the two wall and you'll have to jump while looking at the door(this part maybe difficult) so like you go in the menu anyway(for the drill, etc.) while grabbing the copper tube, jump and grab the Laudanum in your jump and take it while you go in the menu grabbing the drill.

Main Work!!!
Good news about the morgue, every part is doable during a flashback and also the last glitch I use in the video is doable without damage, so I'm thinking about practicing this a bit and taking this path in my SS. Also I'll try playing OOB in the rainy hall to see if there is a way to use this because It would be nice. Still nothing to do with the entrance hall and the nave Sad , I'm starting to discourage on these parts.

Also, Thanks for the sewer tips, I find this one way more easy than the rock slide followed by the couples of damn jumps. at the moment I see the lag(and by the lag, I mean the LAG that last for about 1,5 seconds(which give me time to think press down/left and the jump after this are more easy than the older route)). which increase my % of the sewer, thanks.
Main Work!!!
Yeah I manage to find an angle to the Nave trick(now I have it 75% of the time but it take me within 3 jumps try before I get through the wall). Also The Sewer route is getting more SS friendly I succeed usually between 5 to 15 seconds(getting through the wall(depend if the monster scream before I succeed)) at a % of 70% and the first jump take me 5 to 15 seconds also(already faster and easier for me than the older route, thank again). Also, didn't find an alternative to the entrance hall but I'll keep searching or practice till I get a at least 50% succeed rate in the 4 jumps in a row).

With the sewer, the morgue and correcting every small mistakes, my speedrun will probably hit the 30 minutes Cheesy , so I'll practice every glitches so I can do them fast, from the first try and fluidly and also in the best case(which won't probably happen) a speedrun that is TAS-look like.

Just wanted to say that I am MAJORLY looking forward to this run.  Keep up the fantastic work!

Just wanna also comment that in the study, the shovel glitch is quite a bit slower than just using the windows. Unless you can make it 3-4 seconds faster than in your planning videos, it's slower than what Apjjm did in his segmented run. Also, you should go around the pipes instead of under them in the Machine Room, I'm pretty sure.
