The Dork Knight himself.
So far I've had no luck getting the program to run. It opens, then sits on the main screen doing something in the background but it never responds. Running in compatibility modes doesn't work, and running as Admin doesn't work either.

**Edit**
So here's what I've done so far:
Moved to different folders (C:\      D:\      C:\Program Files (x86)    and Desktop)
Tried different compatibility modes (Win 7 and Win 8) along with running as Admin
Deleted the ini files to force the program to re-create them
Unplugged my Dazzle to see if it was having issues grabbing the device

None of those or any combination would get the program to work.

Okay good. I didn't want to say anything in case it was my end but I'm also getting the same problems on 8.1. I can't see why this is happening. He posted screenshots on his blog of using 4.01 successfully. Maybe it's something to do with language settings he forgot. He's apparently had this up for about 3 weeks so you would think a Japanese user would have contacted him if it was that issue. I guess I can screen record what happens and send it to him, that should help explain.
Terrible release...

Okay, a bit relieved to hear same symptoms.  I posted today over on the shmup forums where I originally found out the news of a new version I'll just paste the same post:

"I take it I am running into issues with AmarecTV v4.01 because I have not 'purchased' the license of AMV4.02? The reason being, it seems I have installed both AMV4.02 and amV3.00i along with AmarecTV v4.02 application, but when I go and run it (even as Admin) the app window appears but becomes not responsive. When I dig deeper into the Amv4VideoCodec directory, I have installed the batch file amv4_install as Admin, completes successfully, but when I try and open AmvConfig64 from that same Amv4VideoCodec directory, I get error : Not Install codec. Do I simply need to register the codec? Navigating the sites was difficult enough, would love some assistance if someone has gone through this. If anyone knows if the application itself does not offer english support yet I probably won't even continue.

P.S. I am in fact running Windows 8.1 64bit "

I'll stay posted to see if any light is shed on making this release stable

Anyone try BANDICAM? After version 3.0.1 release its have capture module.

Perfect for my Avermedia cards (C027/878/985). Record using hardware accelerated H.264 encoders of Intel, NVIDIA and AMD.

Its low resource and higher quality records.

Yeah when I posted this someone saw it and reposted on Shmups. Fortunately someone there figured it out. Go to your ini file and set iLanguage=0. That's good enough to get it working in Japanese to experiment around. A user on Shmups said: "It appears this version slaps the AMV4 watermark on recorded footage even if you're using a different codec. As far as I can tell, it has also removed some features (such as scan line doubler, screen rotation, horizontal color shift settings etc.). Audio playback seems to be broken, but it records just fine". I don't have time to check it myself as I'm busy with something for Elgato team but we'll see.

Cauptain I'll give Bandicam a shot sometime later and tell you what I think.
