Crawlathon WR, get down on my level.
I'm having a really strange issue with Amarec that I can't figure out. What's worse, is it used to work back on Windows 7 (Although I don't think it's related to being on 8 now).

When I run Amarec, the preview window is fine. Even deinterlacing and all of that, it's great. Smooth, no drops, no major lag.

But when I try to record (60fps), Amarec complains that:
"The frame rate of the video capture card does not suit a preset value."

And then resulting recording has all sorts of weird stuttering issues. This happens seemingly no matter what I try. I've tried:

1. Setting preview and capture rates to 30fps
2. Turning off deinterlacing
3. Trying every NTSC option available in the resolution list

Anyone know what this error really is telling me, and how to fix it?

Oh, and yes my PC is fast enough. Brand new Core i7, recording to an SSD, and I'm only recording a Genesis.

All the things
I have not seen that error before Cool Matty (I have the same setup). You've tried all the things I would have tried. It could actually be a Windows 8 thing. Do you have the latest drivers? I know they released new drivers for the C027 only a week or so ago and it cleaned up some occasional jitter that I had. The only other thing that I can think of is that maybe the capture resolution + frame rate (under the Graph tab) is off, somehow.

The latest drivers I'm seeing are from 12/10, are those the ones you're referring to? If so, yeah, that's what I'm running.

Nevermind, I'm partially an idiot.

I was in a preset mode when I was adjusting the graph settings. Still won't work if I pick a 59.94 resolution but whatever, I can deal.
The Dork Knight himself.
Matty: Amarec can only record at the framerate that the card receives. In this case, it's an interlaced 29.97 (so set record to 30) signal. Even if you run the deinterlacer to get 60fps in the preview and live tabs, that doesn't affect the raw stream (which is what Amarec records).
I know this is a late response.
Under Graph 1 it will say "Audio Input" if you haven't already, switch it to (Link)
Thats what fixed it for me
