Our staff has been in contact with the runners, who have both expressed they don't want to do a co-op run. At least one of them has expressed that they do not want to race.

I just like to mention I got an email about my run was accepted but I don't have any run Accept/Progress/Waitlist/Bonus. Just want to point out a bug or something is just off.

Same thing happened to me. I was pretty confused. I assume it's just an email to remind all people that submitted a game that registration is open, but the way it was phrased puzzled me a bit.

GDQ monitor on twitter just posted this: "#AGDQ2016 Registration had a (horrible) bug, we're restarting in about 30 minutes. All existing registrations will be deleted.". so there you go, thats what the deal is Smiley

I really apologize for the mess, and it is a mess. I had tested this locally, extensively, but the complex query involved ran differently on the server, resulting in it picking up previous events in addition to the current one.

I've got a more robust query figured out now, and I'm doing a bunch more testing to confirm before moving on.

Hey, so my run got accepted as bonus, but the person I'm doing the co-op run with never even made a GDQ profile. He's more of an irl friend and isn't really aware of SDA, so I suppose that's my bad on telling him all the details. I thought it would be ok if I submitted since after it got accepted I didn't think to tell him to make a profile on the site and was waiting until registration was avaliable, but now I realize that would mean he's not going to get that confirmation e-mail and potentially discount(?) depending on how the registration on the site processes things. I understand game submission is already closed, not asking to modify a thing for 1 person to have him save $40 because I really wouldn't want to cause any more delays, that would be ridiculous to ask. I'd just like a heads-up on if this is something we can work out later, or if he'll just have to pay the $40. I'll tell him to make a GDQ profile and register asap when it goes up.

The e-mail asked us waitlisted folks to register and everything, too. I assume my role is effectively that of understudy for the run in case v0oid can't go for some reason. Does that mean availability of waitlisted folks will be taken into account for scheduling as well? Or should I wait until after the schedule comes out to book my flights (I can't stay the whole week this time).

I don't think anyone can register right now John. They pulled it back to fix the bug with the code Matty made.

I feel like this is a big area for improvement. This seems like a huge disconnect. People that didn't make it, can't even get feedback on why as it has been said numerous times. People won't be able to improve or be able to compete for a space in future GDQs. As soon as the games list was published, providing feedback on rejected runs that were asked about weeks ago, went out the window in favor of accepted, and waitlisted runs. It seems there should be a Rejected thread or something, so people can get feedback, because answers like "it didnt fit this year" or "your VoD had a swear word" doesnt really help anyone. Some people have asked multiple times, with zero response.

It didn't fit this year just means you drew the short straw. There were just so many other good runs to choose from that your run had to be dropped. It happens. Nothing anyone can do about, really. Continue polishing and try again next time. Perhaps next time yours might get instead of another. I don't see how any more detailed feedback would help.

Had a swear word just means you need to be more careful with you speak. Don't swear. It's that easy, really. Continue improving your speech such that you don't swear when something goes wrong. Avoid swearing in VODs since they need the VODs, or videos, to help judge how you would perform in the marathon. If you can show you don't swear, then they don't have to guess if you're going to swear a lot during the marathon. I don't see how hearing what word specifically would help.
