Is there any way that you could add the current WR into the schedule? I just find it fun to see the diffrence in the current run to the WR and each time a new game is up I need to look up the record.
Or is there a specific reason why you dont paste the WR?

I'll answer this one. Quite simply, it isn't relevant to a schedule. The schedule is there to show a time slot for the runner and their game. That time slot could contain one or more runs or bonus stuff as well as accounting for bad luck in the run.

Every single PS game is in graveyard/early morning.

Nice.

For US maybe. Not for europe. To me, this is a lot better than in the middle of the night.

I'm in Australia, the times are great for me personally. I just think it's an interesting trend.

Seems like Super Star and Dream Land games are all that's ever featured in these marathons as far as Kirby games anyways...

This is completely false. AGDQ2014 the kirby game being run was Adventure. SGDQ 2013 there was Kirby's Return to Dream Land. Nightmare in Dream Land has actually been at 3 gdqs, believe it or not, and Epic Yarn was at SGDQ 2011.

Just because you did not get into this gdq, doesn't mean you will not get into any gdq. You people need some patience.

Spoilers, everybody wants exposure for them and for their games, and for their community. You are no different from anybody else in that regard. If mike had to include everybody that worked hard on their games, the schedule would be several months long.
EDIT: Apparently, the last appearance of Kirby Super Star before SGDQ 2014, was SGDQ 2011. The reason for this long absence was because "0xwas wasn't going so its not worth having". Check up on your facts next time.

That's been suggested in the past, and we've decided not to because it's rarely fair to compare a marathon run (where the runner only has 1 shot and is often using a safer route that guarantees being able to finish within the estimate, along with extra time for bad luck and donation incentives) to a WR achieved after tons of attempts/resets.

Kirby dropped all his games.

Yeah, I PM'd mike and tweeted that I dropped my games for various reasons, partly due to being unlikely to make most of the event. Sam, talon, and footbigmike should pull off fantastic performances anyways and are more qualified than me Tongue

Or when runners go for time-wasting super swag Wink
Just realized that I put Playstation for the console for Spyro, I'll be playing it on a PS2 (NTSC) with fast disc speed instead. Just wanted to clarify this.
Oh yea, Ill be on xbox 360 not Xbox original, just want to clarify.

I'm talking in general, but I was using my game as an example since I'm most familiar with it. I'm fine with not being in, but if what was said by that rejected Kirby runner holds true, then the run ITSELF wasn't considered. Just the fact that a co-op run was submitted FIRST made it so other runs of the same game series didn't get in afterwards and honestly, that seems most likely the case, which worries me :/

I completely understand this. Like I said, this isn't about my game exclusively. Sorry if my previous post came off as simple salty rage because that's not why I made it and not what I was trying to make it come across as. The point I'm trying to make is it's not okay to have a game be rejected because of previous games submitted. If a game that was submitted first is the reason why everything else in that same game series got rejected, but in the end it got rejected itself, it doesn't seem like everything else in that series was given a fair chance at all. It's not looking at what the run is or what makes it good. It's looking at a run based off it being a co-op run which "generally does well" and not off the quality of the other runs that were submitted, which are all fast paced and a fun watch IMO. Plus thanks to that link you gave me MG, I now know that a lot of the games I gave examples for haven't even been in a GDQ in a long time, so surely the runs have changed a lot by then...

The order in which runs are submitted doesn't matter. Even if Super Star and Kirby's Dream Land 3 were submitted last day, then Squeak Squad and the other kirby games would have simply been cut in round 2. And clearly mike watched the run since he said it was a good watch. I think you are interpreting the various rounds of cuts to mean more than they really do. All first round means is that this is what Mike is going to consider for this event.

I was told this in the first thread "You cannot possibly expect Mike to work in a vacuum." He makes a decision on what is more likely to succeed for THIS event. You cannot expect Mike to ignore the fact that 0xwas doing Kirby Super Star would be hype and for him to pretend that he's not going to choose it.

EDIT: Mike wrote a blog post on how he makes game selections a while back: http://theroadtogdq.blogspot.com/2013/11/game-selection-part-2-how-do-i-choose.html
EDIT 2: I probably should have linked part 1 first: http://theroadtogdq.blogspot.com/2013/10/the-art-of-game-selection-part-1-of.html
EDIT 3: I honestly don't see what your point even is. If it is "These games that weren't game x and game y were not even considered." You are mistaken. Mike watches bits of every run. Did you not see that he said "It's a good watch"? Clearly he considered it.

If you believe that the only reason Kirby's Dream Land 3 was considered was because it is co-op, you are mistaken again. There are plenty of co-op runs that were rejected. Heck, that co-op run was eventually rejected in round 3. He takes into consideration how watchable the game is, the quality of commentators, etc. for every game.
Stand: Devil's Call in your Heart
regarding the F-Zero block, i think having a  block with all games together is better overall since there's a lot of audience that tunes in only for GX and splitting the games would make those that end away from GX suffer, especially Climax since that was never released outside japan and barely anyone knows it exists. hell, some people think GX was the last F-Zero game and there was also GPL between it and Climax. having it all together also creates more hype (last AGDQ had a lot of hype for the F-Zero block before X had to be moved due to unexpected issues)

i wouldn't be surprised if fans of the other blocks feel similar regarding their games.
Mike just gave the short version of why x and x games were rejected. You should assume he looked at the other factors with all the games because he actually does do that. Why do you think it took so long to start receiving cuts?
Ah crap, I never hit post in the last thread. I was gonna say that I DID want Keen5's glitchless% in there, though now I see in the schedule it's been cut. Dunno if the cut was for general time reasons or I-didn't-respond or whatever, but if there ends up being wiggle room for it, I'll practice on the off-chance it can show up again. (Still want to improve my time on it anyway.)
My feelings on The Demon Rush
It turns out Krauser (thank you for the email btw) and other west coast runners couldn't make it for DKC2 race the first day, so I moved it to Tuesday right after the CV4 race.

Geoff and ChrisLBC: The consoles should be changed right now.

CapnClever: Maybe if there are more drops.
Sonic Advance on the schedule has no estimate and just has the 5 minutes setup after. Please fix this, unless Sonic Advance has a 5 minute estimate Kappa
I noticed you moved animal crossing and put VVVVVV there instead. I feel that's a better choice for that slot, so thanks. Though now there is a new blank spot after animal crossing's new spot in the schedule.
So my MGS: Ground Zeroes bonus run is set to be going around here.

I noticed both myself and iamradiox submitted the same game on different systems with slightly different categories. When I talked to him he seemed to be under the impression that we were racing.

I don't really mind a race if that's what we're doing, but even if we're not I'm not sure what category I'd be running. Another concern is that there's some slowdown in different areas on different systems so a cross-system race wouldn't exactly be ideal with such a short game.

I'm sure we can figure something out to make a race work if that's where we're going with this, I'd just like to know what the plan is either way so I can practice up.

Thanks in advance.  Gonna be hitting those fundraisers hard to make it.

Some schedule changes.

Tekkie isn't coming until the afternoon of the 5th, so I moved Silent Hill to 3:40 on the 7th. To make sure the schedule didn't shift too much, I moved Super Marisa Land to the 4th.

Pyrius dropped but Mecha Richter is picking up Dynamite Headdy.

As MG2 pointed out, I switched animal crossing setup to Thursday, also there is no more Sotn bonus run from Cosmo. He told me he didn't want to run it anymore.

GymFreak: Whoops, my bad, should be fixed.

MG2: Yeah I fixed that today

T3tsuya: Hmmmm, if that's the case then a race isn't a great idea. Is there a chance you could both do a run, one on each category? I know the S-rank or 100% is not very long either.

I'm more than ok with that. If we'd do two runs one after another I'll talk with him and figure out which of his categories he'd like to run and work something out. I'm fairly sure we both know both any% and S-Rank No Kills. Both categories are super short so it won't be an issue.

Not entirely sure if either of us submitted 100%, which would be every mission in the game as well as the main mission. I do 100%, it's short but it would be significantly longer than the main run and setup block we have on schedule. It would probably eat up both MGS runs or Pokemon Green and I'm not sure if that's what we're wanting to go for.

I'll contact him and PM you instead of clogging up the thread with a million posts about a <10 minute game.

Is it possible to change the date for Marisa Land? Since I'm coming from far away (Brazil), I kinda want to get used with location first. It would also be nice to get practice before the run as well.
Is it not possible to arrive earlier, then? You don't need to stay the entire week. The marathon is open from "day 0" (setup) so to speak, while officially beginning on the 1st day.

Why are you telling another runner coming from so far away (with a very expensive and annoying to book flight) when to arrive and for what possible duration? Doesn't seem to be any of your business.
I was merely offering a suggestion, but telling someone else what to do. Shifting the schedule causes lots of problems for Mike and can cause problems for others to boot.
