My feelings on The Demon Rush
Okay, we all know the drill, practice your games regularly and give updates to confirm you're practicing, but I want to emphasize something. When you are showing proof of your practice, you don't have to make a big long post or anything of the sort. All I need from you is proof that you are practicing. Here are some quick forms of proof that don't require a single word from you.

-A twitch highlight of one of your most current runs. If you're too lazy to make a highlight, then just timestamp where the run is in your stream archive.

-Putting your run progress on youtube.

-Uploading your run somewhere like mediafire.

I don't need long and detailed posts about practice, I just need proof. If you want to write a long and detailed post, go ahead.

In case if you don't know, there are two basic rules.

Rules

The Halo rule: Practice your game! If you don't perform well at the marathon, we can and will mercy kill your game, which is not only embarrassing for you, but also everyone else at the marathon. Even if we don't mercy kill your game at the marathon, having a poorly practiced runs hurts your chances of playing a game in a future marathon!

Raen rule: When you practice your game, practice the entire game.

EDIT: Someone asked how often they should post progress. I'd say at least once every week and a half or two weeks is good.
Thread title:
My feelings on The Demon Rush
Dungeons and Dragons: Shadow Over Mystara: I streamed a dwarf run this week that was 25 and a half minutes. It has a bunch of mistakes and has some stupid deaths, but it's at least a good model for what a run should be. The biggest points that need working on are Ezerhorden, Nagpa, and Synn. At least for Ezerhorden I should be able to buy silver arrows and that will knock out a decent chunk of his health.

I'm going to practice with the Elf after the Chicagothon. I should have something streamable by the middle of October to show off my progress.

Power Shovel: I got a sub-13 minute run a couple of weeks ago. I now need to sit down and time every mission at every rank to see what is best to run first and what's best to run last.

Pretty typical run, route is going to skip map 1 SR50 gap and abattoire glide. At a guess the run should most likely take between 37-47 minutes.

Saves after each map to prevent pistol starts obviously, in-game saves will be used on 4, 6, 9, 12, 14, 16 and 25. Saves don't
lose me anything aside from about a quarter of a second and ensure that if I get bad luck or make some execution mistakes that
im not wasting large amounts of time.

Have a new setup for temple of darkness rocket jump which feels much better and faster.

I have been practicing Bastion New Game any% a lot over the past few weeks. I've brought my PB (16:40) down within 13 seconds of the WR (16:27), and I can consistently rattle off sub-17 minute runs. The Twitch highlight of my PB is screwed because of a picnic, so here's a 16:43 I got later the same night:

Goatragon!
Right now I'd say a typical Journey to Silius run for me is around 11:30 give or take a few seconds.  I beat my 11:22 yesterday with an 11:21 and then within an hour somehow managed to beat my 11:21 with an 11:19 (I mistimed this on stream as a 11:20, but went back and timed it over twice afterwards as 11:19).  I also completed another full run in between that clocked in at about 11:26.  None of the runs were really very good either!

It's all down to consistency at this point so that major mistakes don't happen too often and I smooth out the minor ones.  Stages 3 and 4 seem to be where I need the most work and I'll be continuing to stream my practice/attempts at least two times a week

11:19 - http://www.twitch.tv/zakkydraggy/c/3000373
Practiced SSim 2013 the other day as they have added 2 new surgeries that would make it to any% I was worried it would go over estimate with the new levels but, even with a bad run it clocked in under 20!

Higlight - http://www.twitch.tv/professorbroman/c/3004224

We've also been working BL2 about once or twice a week as a team.  We have yet to go over 3 hours including with our most recent attempt that was riddled with internet and crash issues that won't be happening when we are all in a room together

Apparently twitch ate this highlight, will post a new one next week!

This is the only reason I haven't PB'd in a a while during Meat Boy - http://www.twitch.tv/imysty/c/3004603
This has happened more than it should have done.
My PB should be around 19:40 - 19:50 but everytime I have had a good run this instakills it.

Regarding BL2. What Broman said!
Neutral is never a weakness
Been working hard on Zero 3 whenever I have the chance to. I was unable to do runs for about a week due to controller breaking, but now that's not an issue. I have recently improved my previous WR with a 43:27 (nearly a minute improvement) and I plan to aim for sub 43+SDA Submission. I find myself to be consistent at getting runs in the 43-47 range.

Likes SoM far too much
http://www.twitch.tv/luigimeister/c/3006604 I did a thing, got a PB even at some of the game's worst trolling. I want sub 2:10 before AGDQ, but RNG is a strong force in the world of SoM. Did I mention I MADE MY SWORD DISAPPEAR DURING THE MANA BEAST FIGHT (lost 3 mins because of that >_>) Also my single player runs are already consistent under 2:40. I could probably do a no reset with safe strats and nail it everytime these days.

Eh... Impressive. This game never ceases to amaze me. I recently remote-talked to Jema instead of Neko on the sunken continent ^^
On another note, I do have a theory on how that happens

My PB so far 2:09:00

For information, Luigimeisters and my run use the strats and techniques we are going to use at AGDQ. So even though we are practicing a seperately for the coop game, everyone will know what to do and we only need very little practice to get accustomed to each other.
Further, a real coop-run is inherently faster due to screen-transition mechanics and not having to deal with AI characters. Basically this means, despite safe-strats we can easily be sub 2:10:00 if we don't make any major mistakes (or major trolling by bosses, that can happen too)
Actually improved the SMB3 100% WR today: http://www.twitch.tv/k1rua/c/3006482

For the record i'm gonna be on vacation in october and beginning of november, so i'll "disappear" until the second week of november. Don't be worried if i don't show any sign of activity. I'll grind again some 100% no reset runs in preparation of AGDQ when i'll be back.
For Fun! For GLORY!!
I run mostly no resets of DT Remastered to practice for AGDQ anyway. I don't have any vids since Twitch ate them all. I think by monday my eye will be clear enough to do some live runs on my stream. I'll post them when I do.
My feelings on The Demon Rush
Good to see this topic active already.

Kirua: That's fine, thanks for warning me.

This is the marathon route I currently intend to use, minus the obvious safety quick saves.
Haven't been able to stream/record any Kabuki since I don't have the extra set of composite cables to hook up to my capture device from the video splitter, I'm going to try resolving that ASAP, but its surprisingly hard to find basic electronics equipment around here for some reason.  That being said, my first set of attempts after a week without practice were.

13:11
12:54
13:13
12:39
12:34

Not good, but gaining consistency. Sub 12 would be passable (and is pretty much within my current reach once I shake off the rust), sub 11:30 is good, sub 11:15 is ideal with my current strats.
<(^_^)>
I made a swag route for MZM 100%, and I'm not quite used to it yet; I'll be streaming MZM 100% regularly, and do no-reset runs to get acquainted with the swag route for AGDQ. twitch.tv/kirbymastah
www.twitch.tv/alexwanderson

working on 00 agent runs, in the event I have no one to do co-op with. All co-op practice will happen on-site in the event we do get to do the co-op
For Fun! For GLORY!!
Oh right. My twitch is http://www.twitch.tv/radman1889. My latest run unfortunately had over 40 minutes, and was a perfect example of marathon luck. Hopefully it saved so you can see me fail.
No actual practice yet, but I've mostly (?) finished planning my Fire Emblem route for Lyn Hard/Eliwood Normal. Final time is 1:50:37 and that might go up or down slightly when I move away from an emulator. Obviously this means the estimate is hilariously bad, but I'm not sure how much it should drop. I'm willing to at least consider some donation incentives, but with this being a bid war game, I don't know if that's an option. (Not to speak for Bertin, but I would assume this means the estimate for Sacred Stones is even worse since that's a shorter game.)

Haven't touched X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse yet because I've been focusing all of my efforts into Fire Emblem. I'll feel more comfortable picking this up once I've gotten most of the memorization for that run done. It's so short and straightforward that it shouldn't be much of an issue.

StarSong Hype
I have been practicing SML2 frequently and I also consistently get runs within ~15 seconds of WR. Here is a broadcast of today's stream. There is a high frequency of resetting due to WR attempts. If you are only interested in a sample run don't click this one.

http://www.twitch.tv/laplacier/b/466100461

Here is a highlight of a sample run which I completed. The run itself starts at 2:30. TSSB raided me during this run so I decided to keep the whole occurrence of the raid intact with this highlight (thanks TSSB!)

Here is a highlight of a Glitched% Run. It is not in the marathon but it is interesting and it is a run I hope to submit to when I nail the whole trick the first time. This one was completed in less than 5 minutes.

@Mikwuyma

I don't really want to post videos constantly about runs of the X games but would you accept pictures?  I plan on doing consecutive RTA's and just screen cap the splits.  would give a good average time per run that would show consistancy (and let's be honest all mmx runs look the same just rng is different heh)
My feelings on The Demon Rush
Yeah pictures are fine, zewing.

Here's a fun/annoying recent one.  Apologies for the audio situation, but I was working with OBS at the time.

I somehow managed to beat my best Joe, Kids, Any% time with Captain Blue.  My top time now runs at 28:03 with Captain Blue vs. 28:09 with Joe.  I don't get the in-game timer situation vs. real time, but I'm not complaining.  I'm 95% convinced that Blue is the fastest character in the game now.  The other 5% comes from the RTA issue haha

http://www.twitch.tv/tminator64/c/2995484

I know it's not with Joe specifically, but eh, the movement is somewhat similar between characters.  Plus, you can't not like a character who puts his hands on his hips while floating.
All the things
I've done a bunch of runs for Kendo Rage in the past month or so, with the ones that finish in the 13-14 minute range. Still a bit more to drop, but it's feeling pretty safe.
BioShock: http://www.twitch.tv/bl00d_thunder/b/465703447 (only the 1st hour or so)
- I'm not actively trying to improve this time but I do frequent runs (1 or 2) a week to work on commentary and to stay consistent. I'll probably do more runs once it gets closer to november/december

Quantum Conundrum: (http://www.twitch.tv/bl00d_thunder/c/2987978) and (http://www.twitch.tv/bl00d_thunder/c/2987970)  2 parts since internet died during my stream
- I've already beaten my old record by 2 minutes since offering it for agdq but I'm still pushing to get lower times and doing a lot of IL attempts to get the more difficult tricks down more consistently.
