it's missing the first three segments. Why aren't they posted alongside of the run?

Yes, they're identical, but many will skip past the comments and not know to look for them in the any% run.

Plus, what if the any% run gets obsoleted, and the segments are no longer up on the site?

They should be included in the download page.

You got a deletion wish?
There should be a note somewhere saying 1-3 are from the any% run or something to that effect.  I recall there being one for Marshmallow's 100% of Chrono Trigger as the first half of the run was from his any% (which is obsolete).
There's a note by the runner himself in the first paragraph, but I don't think a note's enough...

Obviously, cheated runs or runs with inconsistencies such as missing segments are rejected.

Some segments are clearly missing, and this is grounds for removal.

Yes, obviously, using segments from a previous run means the segments are missing. Way to go forum police.

They aren't linked, it's just mentioned. "Oh, by the way." And if what IST comes to fruition, then the first three segments magically disappear, leaving the 1:29 without the opening segments completely.

Wouldn't that be verifier police? Undecided

It just smells funny, ya know?
If the segments are on the site, why the hell would the fact that they're not included on the download page be grounds for removal? Surely it's grounds for putting them on the downloads page. (Incidentally, why was this not done to start with? :S)

This, I should have told Enhasa that the first three segments were part of the any% run. I told Nate about the problem so hopefully it will be fixed soon.

hahah ... even though it was like a year ago now i actually remember when i made the decision when writing new demo.pl to number from 1 regardless of the actual number of the segment. i guess if it only comes up once a year then i made the right decision. anyway i did some hard links for those first three segments (lq/mq/hq divx avi only) so you can access them from the 22% download page if you want.

Considering segments on the site can be improved at any time so that the time can be lower, I don't see any reason why 8/10ths of it can't be improved, while leaving the first two parts (or whatever) if they are seen as the most optimal. I think the same happened for Manhunt 2 on the site, since he went back and redid four segments and saved about 44 seconds on the total time. What's the big deal with improvements on parts? I'd say the shorter it gets, the better it gets - so long as it's legit in-game and on the site.
