Hey!
I am new at speedrunnning and wonder a bit about how Gameboy game should be played.
Live in Europe so have a PAL SNES and PAL Super Gameboy.
I've been thinking about what is the fastest way to play Duck Tales Game Boy version, is there any difference between regions considering the SGB and SNES?

1 / DuckTales Europe - PAL SGB - PAL SNES
2 / DuckTales JP - PAL SGB - PAL SNES (ill hope for this) hehe
3 / DuckTales EU - NTSC JP SGB - NTSC JP SNES
4 / DuckTales JP - NTSC JP SGB - NTSC JP SNES
5 / DuckTales EU - NTSC U SGB - NTSC U SNES
6 / DuckTales JP - NTSC U SGB - NTSC U SNES

Tnx for reply!

(Another question, DuckTales 2 should I play NTSC JP, US or PAL version?)
Thread title:
Ill know about this.
"The Super Game Boy has a few oddities which you need to be aware of. First, it runs Game Boy Games significantly faster than a real Game Boy. If you do a speedrun on the Super Game Boy, the time of your run will be multiplied by 1.024115."
Fucking Weeaboo
Gameboy games run at the same speed, regardless of region, and the games were region free. So play whatever you have access to.
What's that gemma?
There was recently a question in my Twitch chat that I didn't know the answer to.  At what speed does the the Super Game Boy run Game Boy games on a PAL SNES?  It would make sense if it ran at 50 fps, but they might also have made the PAL region SGB differently in order to avoid that (since it would be really noticeable to people used to the 60fps Game Boy).
Aight, but if a PAL region SGB runns a JP region GB game in 50 frames it would be slower?

SGB1 runs at x1.024115 as mentioned above on NTSC systems. I have no idea about PAL SGB1.
To get 'normal' GB speed you should either invest in a GBPlayer for GameCube, or an SGB2.

Regarding DuckTales GB regions: The J version is WAY faster because it has an instant level select (which comes with a disgusting bug *), while the U/E version has a 2 second delay every time you choose a level.
* The bug happens when you enter a stage on the 1st frame possible. Instead of going to the next level it reloads the first level even when it has already been completed. This instantly destroys your run.

DuckTales 2 GB Any%: U/E version is about 5 frames faster than J version because of less text boxes (I know, weird right?)
Good Ending: J version is a few seconds faster because of the unskippable cutscene when you get all map pieces.
Hey! Bangerra! Tnx for the reply!

Ill been watching your speedruns like crazy since i saw you at AGDQ, nice race with Dxtr.

My copy of Ducktales 2 (J) just arrived at my home, well now ill have a good reason to buy a (E) version to haha.

Do you thinking of making a commented version gf your runs?

Have a nice day!
Thanks for the support, my agdq run wasn't very good though =(
Uhm, I don't really do commentary of my speedruns, but feel free to ask any questions.
I haven't run DT and DT2 GB in a long time though. They're nearly unplayable when you're used to the NES games.
