Now it's all over and we have time to breath and reflect on what happened, is there any chance we can have a calm discussion about what happened and what people thought about this, without instabanning people? I real lize that there are places where there are already discussions of this, but they've sort of tended to be biased on one side or the other. I am on one side, but I'd like to converse with others that maybe aren't with me

I wasn't at the event when it happened, so first of all, I'd just really like to know what exactly happened to gamepro11 after his Crash 2 run. I have people telling me that he was removed from the event, and others telling telling me he was evicted from the premises, and others saying that he was still at the event.

But let me assume that he was evicted from the premises because of all the other discussions, this is the most accepted explanation of what happened to gamepro11. I'd like to make some criticisms of the runner, the staff and how they react to the Twitter storm, and the viewers/Twitterbirds.

To gamepro11: I thought the jokes made sense in context, but you did go overboard with them. The couch commentary usually is the highlight of many GDQ runs, but you should have remembered that you were on stage, representing a type of gaming, several communities, and the sponsors of the event as well. You should not have used this specific stage as your personal platform, but you know what? I honestly can't blame you, suddenly having the eyes of several people behind you and literally the eyes of thousands from the internet is frightening to me. I'm honestly surprised something not-well-thought-out hasn't been said on stream in the previous events until now (if there has been something stupid said, please feel free to correct me, folks). All your regular Twitch viewers say that you're a really chill guy, so I'm going to trust you on that.

To the SGDQ staff: Was the Eviction absolutely necessary? I would have preferred if you guys discussed this with each other privately, and then pulled gamepro11 to the side and told him, "After much discussion, we've decided to exclude you from any following GDQs. But please, feel free to enjoy the rest of the event." Maybe even offer him a chance to apologize on stream, while set up was happening for another game. Maybe during the Crash 2 run, someone from the staff could have nudged gamepro11 and whispered to him to lay down with the suicide jokes because people were getting uncomfortable about them online. To be honest, the way this was handled felt like how Jeff Gerstmann was fired from Gamespot for his Kane and Lynch review. Gerstmann said/did something he probably should have not done, which was write a negative review for Kane and Lynch while the site was decked with Kane and Lynch promotional banners and decorations paid for by the sponsor, the management panicked and he was fired from Gamespot. SGDQ? gamepro11 said/did something he probably should not have done, the money (or the people watching the stream, where the donations come from) panicked and twittered with fury, and the staff evicted gamepro11 from the premise.}

To the viewers: PLEASE. Learn to change the channel. There are plenty of other runs later, so why not just come back later for a different run? I don't like using this term, but seriously, Aimchair Warriors Syndrome.

I really did just want to have a calm and civil discussion about this. I felt bad about gamepro11 and just wanted to learn what happened to him afterward while providing my own thoughts about what might happened based on popular opinion and wordsay. Please don't ban me for this like they do in the IRCs T____T

To protect individual privacy, we only discuss disciplinary actions we take with individuals directly with that individual. Anything anyone has said about what we may or may not have done is speculation on their part.

I appreciate your concern for knowing what happened, but that is for us to discuss with the individual. If any individuals who we have taken action with would like to engage in further discussion, they should e-mail me directly at my games done quick email. Thank you for your cooperation.

I guess you're generally not a big fan of the scientific method? Please tell me you're not looking to get into journalism. You just might fit right in.

Klaige tweeted almost immediately about the situation on his personal twitter account, and then proceeded to block people with dissenting opinions and call people "armchair warriors." I don't really see how that's consistent or appropriate with policy. I'm sure he meant well but in your line of thinking it wouldn't be his place to do so.

You are correct, it is not consistent with our policy, and it was an unfortunate choice made in the heat of the moment. I'd already had direct conversation with Klaige about that almost immediately afterwords, but unfortunately the damage was done.

We will make it a point to reinforce our policies with our staff for future events to protect all of our attendees.

I apologize. I very rarely have internet nowadays, and thus rarely have a chance to use the scientific method on the internet the right way. Just the fact that I have had access to it two days in a row is a godsend.

Don't worry, I work with food. *messes with JaggerG's food*

Looks like Klaige is someone with too much time on his hands, don't even know the weird cunt and he had me blocked lmaooo what's funny is that I don't use twitter, about once a week if that.
Today I remembered that the term necropost exists.  I just spent like 5 minutes looking online for this to then remember it was from 3 years ago.
