Zhouy: My mistake. But I don't know if you've been following the recent discussions concerning Half-Life (though it's mostly regarding scripting), but if you have then I imagine you'll see the difficulty in proposing mod versions, even if bhop was a mod and not a script. Half-life was 'grandfathered,' meaning that even though the scripts and I guess mod which were used in the run(s) were allowed at the time, they violate the current rules. Since they're already on the site, they're going to be allowed in future runs as well, but it's not because SDA endorses scripts but because of the previously mentioned grandfather clause. Now then, as far as creating a mod for the purposes of coop'ing, you may be able to argue through analogy that if bhop can be used, so too could another mod. After all, Half-Life as-a-game-for-which-runners-can-use-scripts-and-mods has been grandfathered, not the specific scripts and mods used to run it. So, you could say you should be able to use a new mod which has only been created for the purposes of speedrunning just as bhop was. That's one side of the argument. But, given Half-Life's contentious standing in the SDA community right now, I think most people are going to have a problem with creating a new category of running which is only made possible through the use of another as-of-now unprecedented mod. And then there's the whole slippery-slope argument about using mods. I think the fact that bhop was a mod has eluded most people's awareness. Mods are generally forbidden on SDA, hence the purpose of this stickied thread. Anyway, if you want to try, send a PM to mike or something and see what happens if nothing else.
Inexistence: Nice. Since 'flying' has already been allowed for the HL2DQ run, you should definitely make use of that. Keep up the good work.
