I got a forum up and running. ~~Here's a link~~. I'm new at this, I hope it goes ok.

SDA has been a nice surrogate home for me but it's time for a dedicated forum. A single topic 40 pages long is a bit much for new people to read through. I haven't linked to it on my main page yet, I'll do it once I've got all the kinks worked out.

I shot you a few emails back in July & August and attempted to follow up recently with more info on the device. Now, I can totally understand that you might be busy, but I wanted to just make sure that they were received as I recently had a minor issue involving my smartphone and email address. Hey there Loopy - I think I dropped you an email about a week ago wanting to order a capture card and I just wanted to check if you got it or if I got the wrong address. Hey loopy, how difficult is it for us to install the capture card itself ? I find it very pricey, $200. Would the price be lowered or would you still sell it for same price thanks !

I got your email. I sent out a mass email yesterday saying I was moving sales to ebay for a while. It might not last long if prices stay high, I'll hit my ebay selling limits too quickly Tongue

The situation was getting out of hand. I need a way to separate serious buyers from the not-so-serious. I have people begging me to sell them something at any price, but I can't because I've got orders queued up with other people. People who pay but don't send in their 3DS til weeks later ... or they want to pay half first, then don't have the money... I had one guy actually try to sell me his comic books to pay for his board. It's a clusterf*ck. So, screw it. eBay it is. Let the free market sort it out. It'll give me a better idea of what the right price point is for these boards.

There's an install guide here. I'll lower the price if you're installing it yourself. You shouldn't try it unless you know what you're doing though. The success rate hasn't been good so far.

I got your email.  I sent out a mass email yesterday saying I was moving sales to ebay for a while.  It might not last long if prices stay high, I'll hit my ebay selling limits too quickly :P

Damn, I'm pretty serious about getting one but it seems as if I won't be able to wade my way through the people who aren't serious. I'd send my 3DS off in a heartbeat if you gave me your address - I am desperate for a capture card but unfortunatly I can't afford one of the eBay ones - the $200 plus postage is just and no more in my price range. I guess I'll just have to wait, though I really am desperate to get one as soon as I can. :/

I've come across people that are "sorta" before when buying. It always has to be "all or nothing" else it gets hairy, which you've already found out. People would have to pay up front and need designated rules on how/what they ship as and when, else they get refunded and work ceased. Now you get half commitments that eat your time away. People need to understand that your time is not for the weak buyers that think you enjoy keeping tags on 10-30 people that don't know how to money manage. If you continue to keep a line coming from non-Ebay users, you should make a set of rules that people need to abide by and that the buyers need to acknowledge these rules and then go "all or nothing".

I don't know if there is any software for this but theoretically you could just set up a bidding shop on your homepage. Like eBay but just without the monthly limit and fees.

By the way, got my modded 3DS a while back. Mr. Z did a good job on installing it and it works totally fine. Software is by far the most reliable software for a capture card I ever used haha. Thanks for your great work again! Can just recommend this great piece of hardware Smiley

Anyway, I saw that your forums are offline. I'm a webdesigner and if you want I can take over the installation and hosting for them and maybe make you a real website. It's not like I have anything big to do over the next few weeks, apart from playing Resident Evil 6. Cheesy

I am glad the boards are selling well, even if it does involve wading through idiots (though I really shouldn't make fun since I'm part of that group more often than I would like to admit)

If loopy is still doing this in a year, I'll pick one up once the price has stabilized. I can definitely see people being desperate for a solution as there's nothing else like this out there.

Very good job on the work, loopy! Playing on my larger screens feels so much better. In the future on the capture software, it'd be nice to have the option to correctly split the upper and lower windows from one another or else content that spans both screens look funny when they attempt to intersect. Another would be the ability to change the brightness values, etc.

You know what makes me feel so stupid? When I booted up the 3DS in the capture software... I uh... started to use the mouse on my PC to try to select "English" from the opening 3DS starting menu (not used to seeing this screen)... I was like... riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.
