Sorry, I want to clarify something here. Is +5,000 yen for USA version for just the pre installed mod, or for the stand alone (no 3DS) as well? I couldn't find anything about the 5,000 on either product page. I thought I read earlier in the thread that region didn't matter, but I can't seem to find that now so I may have wrongly assumed that at some point.

Gift or not makes no difference at that price level. That's Zoll + Tax.
How many devices did you get? Assuming the 3DSs were declared for only the 3DS price, 3 would get you up there.

I'm pretty sure you missheard. First of all nobody says "Das ist ein Euro" unless he is pointing at an one Euro coin and second I doubt anything at Gamescom is only one Euro.

Other than that, I'm following this thread since months now and I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of the board. Loopy did great work so far and I'm more than impressed. I just hope they're not sold out too fast, so I can get one too.

The drivers didn't change.
I don't know why StreetPass would be broken. Do other WiFi functions still work?
With other functions working I'm not sure how streetpass could fail. It isn't like soldering affects firmware.
Though you also noted Swapnote was working but I was pretty sure that was also streetpass. Did you just accidentally disable streetpass on the plaza? Try going into the plaza and looking in settings (at the far left)

Agreed. I'll wait and see. I still want to get my hands on one but I don't want to like tinker the 3DS to the point where it breaks.
