Hello,

sorry for my english. I'm from Germany and I hope you can understand me.

My Problem is, that i can't get the required PAL resolution with AnriChan.

Game: Super Mario 64 for N64
Region: PAL
CaptureEquip: Easycap DC60+
CaptureTool: Debut Video Capture Software 1.50

With much help from Animeowzerz, i understand this very good program.
My Options in Debut:
Input: Composite
Format: 352x288 and 25 FPS (This is D4 F2 for SM64 PAL)
Record as: .avi
Encoder Options: ffdshow video encoder (Video Compression Settings -> Encoder: HuffYUV ; FOURCC: HFYU)
Sound Compressor: PCM uncompressed; 44100HZ, 16 bit , stereo

Now my Options with Anrichan 3.2:
GameProperties: n (treated as NTSC /PAL)
Database: s034 -> Super Mario 64 (D4 F2 3D)
Progressive
4/3

The Problem with these Options are, that the Final Videofiles (LQ,MQ and HQ) are all 320x240 and 12.5 FPS!
Because of this i manually change the record FPS Rate in Debut Capture Software to 50FPS. Than Anrichan make it to 25 FPS with the equal settings above.
But my Problem is, that the Resolution can't be 352x288. With 352x288 in Debut anri chan makes it to 320x240. If i manually change the resolution in Debut to 704x576 for example (the double of 352x288), anrichan makes 384x288 out of it.

Here are my files in 320x240 25 FPS (Debut Settings: 352x288; 50 FPS)

Thanks for your help

How come you're not using virtualdub to capture from your usb capture card ?
I never had problems doing it that way.
If you need some help setting it up just contact me.
I'm from germany too so we shouldn't have any problems with communication Tongue

P.S. : Pal games tend to run on 704 x 576 and 25 fps.

Yep, it's best to capture at 704x576 or similar resolution for deinterlacing reasons. You may want to upload a clip of the capture file which should be 704x576, 25 fps interlaced so we can verify that it's good before even going through Anri.

Ok here is the File before Anri (704x576 25fps)

I think your capture card is deinterlacing the video which is generally not a good thing (better to be deinterlaced during editing/encoding stage), but I don't see the usual negative side effects so it may be fine in this case. You should check if your software mentions anything about interlacing. Since this video is not interlaced, you should say yes to the progressive question which will leave the framerate at 25 fps. 384x288 is fine; more simple than 352x288 and setting the aspect ratio to display at 4:3 anyway.

edit - Ok, I was wrong about the framerate, I'm seeing the 12.5 as well. Let me check this out.

Try:
Say no to going into the DF database
D: 4
F: 1
2d: n
Progressive: y

edit - above should work.

Definitely will consider this scenario for the next anri version. Specifying F=2 implies there are duplicate frames, which normally happens when deinterlacing a game that run at 25 fps to 50 fps. However since it was captured straight to 25 fps without deinterlacing needed, this odd behaviour came about.

Those look ok.

As I mentioned before, you should check to see if your software has any interlacing setting. While the videos looked ok this time, I'm not sure they will be the next time for a different game.
