so the forum was down between about 6:08 am cdt and a few minutes ago.
the short version of the story is that the server that housed all taiga forums stopped responding and had to be manually rebooted. i realized this when i woke up at 12:30 and sent a support request to the provider of the server for it to be rebooted but it still has not been rebooted yet as of right now. after three hours of waiting i made the decision to switch to the backup server, which is where you are right now.
this incident means that i can't trust the support of the primary server to respond to me in a timely manner which is why i've decided to cancel that server and replace it with a new one from a different company.
because the backup lagged behind the live forum for a few hours last night, there may have been a handful of posts lost. i can restore those posts once the primary server is rebooted.
thanks for your patience. i promise we will eventually have a stable forum.
