Now that Radix has changed the rules for death teleporting I would like to see a run of this game just to see how low the time can go, I know that marsh wanted to do the game with dying to save time in the first place. would anyone else want to see this?
Thread title:
I certainly wouldn't mind watching through BK again... I could watch it all day Smiley
Why not somebody do Banjo-Tooie first.
My Personalized Text goes here.
Someone is working on Banjo-tooie, I think they may even have sent it in. I'd like to see a faster run of this game, myself.

Who? Cause it's not mike89.
Oh and if anyone actually summons the energy to do a new BK run, go for it. Cheesy

I would do a BK run but I am not fast enough to do it my best time is just under 4 hours. I watched marshs run but I am unable to duplicate it. I would also need the strat to get the dying to save time route. I would like to see marsh do this game again cuz he is nuts with speed running!
hi
rule..about..death...teleporting?

link?

this may inspire me to do the bt run
radix changed it in the SDA rules look it up
hi
wow that owns
does that mean we should be expecting a run bulblax
hi
bt? i'm not sure...i've been extremely busy with school and its not going to let up until at LEAST christmas break <_<
SEGA Junkie
Dragorn seems to be taking up the challenge on Banjo-Tooie now. That's good, because it frees me up to perfect my 1-Jiggy run and send it out.
Yes, a bunny riding a towel
Never heard of it before, what does that include?
He use's cheats (in the temple place with the cheats) to get to the end of the game as quickly and cheatedly as possible.

Ordinarily yes, but for this game it's different. Plus I think Radix said he'd accept them.
this topic was about BK not BT and I thought that bulblax said he was gonna do a run since the rules changed I hope that this is the case but I think he said he was to busy anyone want to do a run I would rty but I am to slow my fastest time is 3:55:xx
In case this topic is still open. Ive just joined SDA and i'd never even heard of such things but I love this site so much and it inspired me to continue narrowing my tme on BK. Today I finished it in 3:45 with roughely 18mins of time wasted due to forgetting obvious stuff or forgetting to go in certain rooms when i should have meaning a lot of back tracking...
I havn't even swatched the guys clip of BK yet cause I want my run to be original and my own, but if i'm any chance of getting close I might have to pretty much duplicate him...
yeah marsh's route is pretty optimized you will have your work cut out for you, but his run was done before radix started allowing the dying to save time techinique. Which could save sometime over marsh's run and would help you to beat him if you got good enough. unfortunately I don't know what the route for dying to save time would be..... and yeah this topic was dead till you posted so hopefully you rejuvenated it.
It doesn't seem like there's a lot to improve aside from optimization, and maybe a few new tricks here and there. You might want to consider doing it segmented (so instead of a death warp, you can do a save and quit warp for each segment wherever it's applicable)
A segmented run would probably be the way to go but they you would end up spending more time in gruntys lair overall and might not save very much time unless you took serious advantage of the warping cauldrons. I don't see this run being very much faster than marshs if at all maybe 2 or 3 minutes.
Radix you're killing me. My whole thing was deleted cause I didn't write 'you'. I abreviated. Anyway, so Radix is allowing death and saves aye? hmm. There are deffinete advantages of saving such as: after click clock switch has been hit you need to go back to the beginning to do a few things such as activate click clock, get clankers witch switch and enter the cheato codes. Doing this would mean you wouldn't have to activate the pots. After mumbo mountain and getting its witch swicth jiggy you can save meanin you transform back to banjo quicker. Every world would work out quickre if you suicide I say.
Anyway about my record attempts: believe or not i still havn't braught myself to watch his clip; not yet. My gruntilda route is far different to Marshmallows (i know from reading his comments), i know a couple of handy tricks which i'm sure he doesn't know or hasn't used, I'm positive that I can at least beat his records on SOME of the world's. I havn't done a full through run for a while, ive been workshopping everything and analysing it but i'll let you know on my next time reading.

Sorry if this didn't make much sense, my first post was way better.  And if you wish for me to expand on my gruntilda route or anything else, I will but I don't wanna go on too much right now, even though I have already. Sorry guys...
oh, sorry guys I thought you said he was alowing saves. But there are still many ways to incorperate death. Especially to get back to the beginning of a large level...
I like this site name cause it's easy to remember.
What you might not realize is that there's actually a lot of improvements to be made in Mumbo's Mountain alone. On the video, it takes marshmallow about six and a half minutes to, starting from the entrance of the level, get everything (I timed until he collected the last note), whereas Phil Collins's record for the same task is 5:23 (albeit probably without having hit the witch switch). I'd have to watch marshmallow's run again a few times to be sure what exactly, but I'm sure that there are plenty of little sequencing improvements.
Jack of all Trades
Phil has many interesting times in BK that, as far as I know, no one can replicate (like Cyber, for example, who tried a long time on Mumbo in particular). Without strategies or videos, well...good luck with that.
