DS Dictator
Note: I am aware that you can use DS flashcards such as EZ-Flash 3-in-1 and use GBA Backup Tool to back up your GBA saves. However the UK has added a law in the past few years that it's illegal to purchase/import a DS flash card. Google searches says the banning is related to the R4 but I don't want to take a risk of obtaining a different flash card and end up behind bars :/

So I'm looking to find an old GBA Action Replay (or Gameshark) & USB connection that can be used to backup (GBA to PC) or download (PC to GBA) save files.

This is my first WTB related post. Even if I don't buy it from here in the end, I'll learn a thing or two.

If I knew where my old GBA gameshark was, I'd let you have it. Though if my memory serves me right GBA gamesharks don't work on all types of saves, but with a bit of fidling around you can use the gamesharks savestate feature to make a savestate, then convert the savestate using VBA, then make a save in emulator to get a save that way. That was the only way I was able to get Golden Sun saves to/from my PC way back when.

You may also want to look into getting a retrode and the appropriate plugin, though the plugin is pre-order only and it seems they are still working on actually getting save support for GBA games into their firmware...

The game I'm looking to transfer a save file from the internet to my actual GBA is Super Mario Advance 4 US version.

Super Mario Advance 4 is the only game of the Super Mario Advance series to use Flash1M as a save type rather than the traditional EEPROM save type.

GB Transferer 2 has been mentioned on the SDA Knowledge base but I don't know if it's compatible with Flash1M saves or even get it to work on Windows 7
