So anyone who's played the Myst series knows that, for the most part, it involves a bunch of clicking to get from place to place (because of screen transitions). However, there are two exceptions to this, Uru, and Myst V, which allow you to move freely. This makes them much more interesting runs. As such, I'm thinking of speedrunning Uru. It's already such a beautiful game and I'm curious to see what a speedrun of it would look like. I know close to nothing about how to speedrun it, but there have definitely been some glitches demonstrated (like falling through the level some places like Gahreesen) and probably more to be found. I'm guessing the speedrun (I guess defined as
getting to the end of Path of the Shell and walking in the middle of the spiral
) will involve finding the shortest route on how to use the linking books, how often you link back to Relto, and so on. Has anyone else given any thought to this?

I have never thought of it, but Uru has been one of my favourite games. I'd be interested in seeing how you manage to make a speedrun of this.

I'd like to see a run of Uru as well.

I'm running Uru Complete Chronicles right now for fun, and I'm hoping to get into legitimate speed running for all the Myst games Wink
Does this entry to the series have a lot to discuss or could we perhaps combine this thread with the Myst Series one?
