So you'll have...3 versions?

Well, nice to see that this game is continuing to get broken.  I'd get back to glitch finding, but my VC Super Mario 64 is very addictive...

Also, SkippyJr, do you mind if I upload your video of my glitch to YouTube?  Unfortunately, my encoding abilities are rather lacking, but I would like to have the video.  You'd get credit for making the video, of course.

Yes, a cucco riding the ground.
I haven't set up my DVD recorder to make videos yet, but I'll just describe this. The back slash (skill #3) gives you uber height. It might be useful somewhere.

SkippyJr: Heh, I found that last one while I was going through, but it actually doesn't save time. If you turn right immediately when you enter that room, there is a faster way. Tongue
The backslash is skill #3.  The shield bash is skill #2.  Still, I think the helm splitter(skill #4) gives more height than the backslash, though both are cool skills in general(parry minus the broken anyone?).  It's easier to do than the helm splitter, and it puts you at a different angle.  That might make it useful in different cases.

I think that we have a ton of ways to gain height, and now the only question is where a little bomb blast might knock us.

Woopsy-daisy. Fix'd in my post.

petrie911: Go right ahead.  That jump was kind of nasty (for learning through video) though, dunno why I kept it.  I can redo it using a perpendicular line-up near a pillar if you'd like.  No need for video credit.  Is the video similar to how you found it (the lauch point, jumpslash at the end)?

It's about the same, although I think I jumped from a little higher, and I didn't need the jumpslash.  Still, the basic principle is the same.

EDIT: Oh, and here is the yourtube link.
So, how much time have you guys saved so far? Rough estimate?

Anyway, I just finished my second playthrough. I saved at the last phase of the Ganon fight (the sword fight) with 7:29.

I only played for two and a half days, so there were a lot of mistakes and I wouldn't be surprised if the game can be done a whole hour faster. In hindsight, I've realized that there were a lot of things I should have done differently. Well, whatever. It's not like I was really trying or anything.
7:29? Really?
Food goes in here
That sounds too good to be true. Could you post a screenshot? I'm not saying you're lying, that just sounds too fast. Maybe I'm overreacting here, since I haven't played this for myself.
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
Hmm, well I'm at 4 hours at the start of the lakebed temple, but that time does seem very good. I'll have to wait and see how long it takes me to finish, although monkey ball for wii has taken up most of my free time (goddamn 10-5).

Speaking of Super Monkey Ball, who here has discovered Rollgoal? If you haven't, don't; it will eat your life. <_<

Haven't played the game? ...

I suppose I could, although I don't see the point. The time isn't that good. Trust me, I know.

I recorded when I saved at Ganon, so I'll just post a video. That would be the best way to "prove" it, I guess. I'll post it here in about 3-4 hours, for those who care.

Minda having some fun...
I decided to throw in the final boss fight while I was at it. So, you know, spoilers and stuff.

I guess you can all breath a sigh of relief, because now you know an optimized run will certainly be in the 6:XX range or perhaps even lower. Any run over 7 hours would be totally sub-par.

Well, I guess that's it, then. I'm outta here.

If that is, in fact, legitimate, then it's great news. Nice Ganondorf fight, BTW.
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
Yeah, if this is all true, then I'm pretty happy that this game can end up on SDA after all!
For speedrunners, a very easy way to get up the money at the beggining of the game for the slingshot is to just roll into the trees in the area around Link's house.

Thats right, every single tree drops rupees, I'm pretty sure there is 30 or more that falls out altogether.

I reached Lakebed on second playthrough, albeit not for speed, but for the visual guide, at 4:05 without skipping cutscenes.  These cutescenes are adding quite a bit of time.

Yeah, pretty good Ganondorf battle - I sucked at it first time, but then second time I began to try some stuff...like being close to Puppet Zelda like in OoT to deflect the energy ball - works again, and getting in two attack sequences on Beast Ganon during Arrow Sequence.  The horseback part is also a joke now.  I do the same thing you do pretty much on Dark Lord Ganondorf, but I can't wait for the the GCN controller and hoping they ditch the spin-attack recharge....

Speed is the key.
I'm glad that TP can be beaten in 7 hours. Cheesy

I'll be getting it this friday, on the european release. I've already watched most of the game and story online, so I will probably start looking for tricks and breaks right away.

Edit: I found this to be interesting:

Seems to work about the same way as farore's dive/bottle dive in OoT.

Oh pimpness... let the games begin!

TSA, how come in an earlier post, you said you were at lakebed for your visual guide at 4.5 hours, and now you're saying 4 hours? Then when I looked at your visual guide, you're at a little over 5 hours in the lobby of lakebed?
