No, They are the runs I recently completed, and that will hopefully be up on this sit in a week or two.

Not trying to be a jerk, but some of those times seem unreasonably high...

ex: 2:31 Siberia? How do you lose 25 seconds on this level?

Notre Dame should be cut waaay down, Aztec and RF seem really high too.... did you watch ST's videos? They're pretty helpful...

Now of course I haven't seen the run yet, but I'm not so sure this run will make it past the verification stage simply because your times seems to be pretty far off what should be the optimal time. It just doesn't make sense since a run on Easy usually avoids pretty much every enemy so there's no reason any of your times on Easy mode should be more than 15-20 seconds off the WR unless you made a major mistake.

I also have a video of Wabs beating Space Station on Hard in 4:14, so there's really no reason to get 5:14 on Easy. Again, not trying to be mean, but I think you should revise your strats and go for lower before you think about submitting something. There's always time to be shaved!

I never said this was perfect. And who says that is the world record? As far as I know, Twin Galaxies has no TimeSplitters matierial, so there is actually no REAL world record. If SDA accepts it, then that's all there is to it.

Have you even got better than this? it is hard.
My feelings on The Demon Rush
Otaku, I would not mention Twin Galaxies as a baseline for two reasons.

1. We don't operate like Twin Galaxies. At TG, they accept speed runs regardless of how fast they are. Here, we try to have the fastest known time, or at least in ballpark range.

2. Tends to invite a lot of flames.

Also, there is no need to be so defensive. If there is really as much room to improve the run as you are hinting, then it might be a good idea to redo your run.

Sorry. I really am. I don't know what you'll take and what you see as acceptable. mabye I'm sensitive.
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
I wasn't trying to be too offensive towards your time. I'm not saying you're a "bad" player by any means, I'm just saying you may not be using the fastest known methods of completing some objectives.

Example: I randomly clicked on a Wild West run you posted on the second page. I noticed that for the objective where the barn was on fire, you went inside and up the stairs in the house to shoot the water barrels. A much faster method involves shooting the 2 barrels from outside, and this is clearly something that's shown in WR videos. I'm not sure how much your routes have changed for your new speedrun, but I'm just saying there's probably more things like that would lead to easy time savers in every level, this being one example.

And yes, as implicitly stated, a run won't be posted just because no previous run exists currently; there is still a standard of quality and most good TS2 players should be able to identify whether the quality is high enough or not. Especially when ST stated earlier in the thread that he's done a SS ~28 min. run. Even though he's one of the best players for the job, 7 minutes slower of a run still on Easy mode doesn't really seem justified IMO. There's plenty of people in this thread that are willing to help.
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
I looked up my old posts where I was going for SS runs of story easy.  I listed stage times for three different runs.  I'll post them here to give you and idea of what you want to be shooting for.

The first run was an effort to get under 30 minutes.  Several of the current individual WR stage strats were unknown to me when I did this.

Story Mode Easy - 29:43(game timer)

Approximate stage times:

Siberia - 2:18
Chicago - 2:30
Notre Dame - 3:11
Planet X - 2:23
NeoTokyo - 4:22
Wild West - 1:22
Atom Smasher - 3:38(wish I knew how 3:15 was done...)
Aztec - 2:03
Robot Factory - 3:45
Space Station - 4:06

The next run was after playing a bunch of individual level story easy and discovering some new strats.

Story Easy - 28:18

Most stages went well.  I did have problems with Robot Factory, and there are faster strats for Notre Dame and Neotokyo that I didn't use, the main reason for that being that I don't know them.  I defenitely want under 28 minutes before submitting a tape.

Approximate stage times.  Give these a possible error of 1 second as I didn't make the usual obsessive effort to make sure the timer started as soon as each stage started.

Siberia - 2:06
Chicago - 2:26/27
Notre Dame - 3:01
Planet X - 2:11
NeoTokyo - 4:18
Wild West - 1:19
Atom Smasher - 3:11
Aztec - 2:00
Robot Factory - 3:49
Spacestation - 3:51

The final one is the run that still stands as my best.  The 27:50.  I give details for how each stage went.
Stage Times and Comments

Siberia - 2:07

I start off things in good fashion by totally missing the guard at the start, and have to get him with a head shot later on, which is where I lose about a second from the usual 2:06 I get on this stage. Everything else goes okay.

Chicago - 2:26

Nice run and only a second off my best. Not much to say as far as mistakes go, except I almost accidently shot the informant in the head at one point while trying to protect him.

Notre Dame - 2:53

Quite proud of this actually, as I've never broken 3 minutes on this in a full game speedrun. Not the WR strat. I take if very safe at the part after the "wine cellar" room where the wall explodes and fire zombies come after you. I had a small pause when picking up the 2 x Lugers as I had thought I'd missed them for some reason. The hunchback portion wasn't perfect, as I had a couple misses that cost time. Rest of the run went good. Kind of surprised this was 2:53 considering the the strat I used.

Planet X - 2:11

This was pretty good up until the near the end where I somehow manage to have trouble entering the spaceship, and when I finally do, I get stuck on a wall. Would have easily been under 2:10 otherwise.

Neotokyo - 4:18

Ugh. Boring stage, and this also contains the second biggest screwup of the run. After getting the hacker's password and leaving the terminal, instead of switching to unarmed to take out the guard ahead in one hit, I switch to my pistol and I take four shots to kill the guard, and of course I get stuck on her. Thankfully, the remainder of the run went pretty smooth, and I got a time just one second off my PR, which tells you how much time I've put into Neotokyo. Wink

Wild West - 1:12

Used a variation of the 1:08 strat for this. Instead of the pistol, I used to sniper rifle to shoot the wagon through the jail cell because it's much, much more consistent. Got stuck a bit on a guard after that. Lost around a second. Shot the two barrels in the hay loft on the strafe. Managed to do the boss the fast way. All in all, it worked out well considering how much there is that can go wrong on this stage.

Atom Smasher - 3:12

Pretty average run. I was kind of slow putting out the fires, which is why I got 3:12 instead of under 3:10. Nothing major went wrong.

Aztec - 2:01

Least impressive stage. I missed shooting a monkey while crossing the bridge about a third of the way into the run. He of course decides to run ahead of me and slow me down, while I'm trying to reload and kill the little bastard. He then stops right in front of the switch I need to hit, and I first attempt to hit it anyway, because it looks like I can still get close enough, but it turns out I can't, so I have to back up and stick a dart in the asshole's head and then hit the switch. Rest of the run was decent and the golem's were perfect. Should have been a 1:57.

Robot Factory - 3:35/3:36

First a note about the timing on this stage. There's a lot of weapon switching in this level, and when doing this stage off a new profile, the weapons do not switch around automatically the way that I'm very much used to when playing normally. So I elected to pause to switch weapons at 5 different places. The game does not count this against you for your final time, but it makes timing it by hand a nightmare. With pauses included, my time was 3:42. I calculated the total amount time I paused to be around 7 seconds or so, and subtracted from there. Probably closer to 3:36 than 3:35. Besides that, the run was great. Nothing major went wrong.

Spacestation - 3:50

Skipped the spacesuit, of course. Gun portion was a bit slow. Other than that, this was a pretty good ending to the speedrun.

Added together, with Robot Factory taken as 3:36, those times come out to 27:46. Take tenths into account and you get 27:50. Glad I'm done with this.

[i]Story Mode Easy - 29:43(game timer)

How do you see the game's timer? I didn't know it had one.
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
I think it has to do with creating a new file, then at the end of the game, check how much time is logged onto your game file to determine the run length.
Hey, I've been checking this topic a bit and decided to give it a go myself.

Story Mode - Easy - 29:43

All level times could potentially be one second lower, due to tenths.

Siberia - 2:10

Okay run, pretty easy time though.

Chicago - 2:29

A bit meh, should be more like 2:27. Killing Big Tony fast isn't super easy.

Notre Dame - 2:57

Decent run, a couple of small mistakes. The boss took six shots, which sucks.

Planet X - 2:15

Meh. The turret section wasn't very good. There's a plant in the way there, that makes killing the alien on the right annoying. I knew beforehand that I shouldn't try to shoot him when he's behind it, but I was being stupid.

NeoTokyo - 4:19

Okay. I thought the patrolling guard I didn't kill had a machine gun, so I tried to kill her after Sadako ran away. When I saw she didn't, I killed the one behind the corner, like I should've done. I killed Sadako on the strech with the camera's and I couldn't find the Time Crystal at first.

Wild West - 1:20

Damn. I used the vintage rifle, when shooting through the bars and it probably took 10 shots, yuck. Was a tad slow shooting the barrels to put out the fire.

Atom Smasher - 3:30

Wasn't too bad, but I shouldn't be losing this much time.

Aztec - 2:46

Terrible, terrible. The golems went super bad, about 35-40 seconds lost here.

Robot Factory - 3:58

I somehow can't take out the final energy node as soon as ST can and I have no clue why. Any idea, Tim? I should probably practise this level individually, since I need to get a better understanding of what to do exactly.

Space Station - 3:59

Pretty good run, maybe a bit slow when activating the computers. Could save a second or so by shutting the air locks doors earlier.
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
For the game timer, it's exactly what cyberwrath said.  Start a new profile for the speedrun, do the run, and then check you profile stats at the end for your final time.

That node is weird.  I never really figured out exactly how it worked, but I do two things that somehow end up causing the shield that usually surrounds it to disappear early.  The first is when I go the console to active the node, I don't cut the cinema scene right away.  I let it go for half a sec or so.  Then after that, I make sure to not look at the node at all for a while.  If you're looking at my 3:30 video, you can see that I take my sweet time killing the robot on the ramp before looking up at the node.  I don't know exactly how long you should wait, and there isn't any thing you can go by other than the feel you get by practicing that section quite a few times.

Why doing these things cause the shield do disappear early, I have no clue.
Thanks, it worked.

Nice.  If you practice up Wild West, Atom Smasher, Robot Factory, and Spacestation a bit then you definitely have a good shot at taking down 27:50.

Wild West was the stage I worried most about when doing an SS since you pretty much have to go with the WR strat, which has a lot of potential for attempt-ending screw-ups.  Any alternative strat in the hope of better consistency ends up losing way too much time.

Atom smasher also has a lot of potential for screw-ups(putting out flames can really kill time if it goes badly), but that can be practiced to the point where 3:15-3:20 happens even on bad runs.

I will PM you the verdict later today. I never post verdicts in a game thread.

Okay, I tried jumping down the elavator shaft on Space Station, but that only works on the first elavator. I was killed doing it on the second one. Luckily, I'm now working on a new strat for Siberia, and It's chopped a couple of seconds off my time at least.

I think that my new siberia run is 10 seconds faster.

I do have a DVD drive on my PC, but I don't own a DVD recorder. When I recorded it I was at my Grandmother's house. It's embarrasing to admit it, but it's true. Sorry about that.

Fortunately, I recently helped form a speed running group called The Quickening, and we will be posting our group's best times on the below YouTube channel in the next few days.

I will be practicing very hard at siberia, notre dame, chicago and wild west for individual level times for my group. I hope to sometime do individual levels on SDA, or mabye try another segmented. Heck, mabye I'll do it Single Segment. Who knows. Just keep tabs on The Quickening on YouTube for our best times.
