Borderlands 2 Glitch Hunter/ router.
Well I've played through it a few times and have a grasp of whats going on in most the missions, it seems that they have clamped down on where you are allowed to go by having battlefield style areas of play which, if your trying to speedrun this game not only prevents OoB, but if your too far ahead of a NPC you have to wait for them to catch up to you before you can continue. ¬_¬

I've given the First mission a quick run and got back a time of 19:41 with the use of 1 sequence break which thus far is the only 1 i can find for this mission. I'm not sure if this is even a "good" time to be honest but as this mission is very! long! it seemed quiet good.
Thread title:
What would you like to play today?
I've completed the game twice. First time, with hardest difficulty, I clocked 4h and 15min... and that was my first, hard, blind playtrough. Then I played it using easy mode. Didn't manage to crack that much down, but one think I notice... the game is damn HEAVILY scripted! Gosh! The amount of invincible walls is ridiculous.

There's hardly anything you can do by your own expect follow your fellow NPC and do everything he says. There's no point just to rush forwards, because enemies are way more accurate than what they use to be in original S:GW. Regardless the difficulty you play, you die way too easily (which is just good, but not if you think speedrun). Overall, if we are going to speedrun this game, it is going to take over an hour... unless there's some juicy glitch to be found.

PS: R.I.P bunny hopping. Sad

Glitching :3
Not sure if people are still interested in this.
Game is broke at so many levels but as Judgy said, the death barriers prevents most of the OoB.

Triggers are broken too. Sometimes skipping them will make the game continue to act as normal, sometimes it's gonna block you.

Anyway found some things :
-Killing enemies who arent in a "Clear area" objective is completly useless, even though the game tells you to do so. Getting to the next objective (even though it's not written on the map) will trigger it most of the time. Even funnier, they'll get killed.
-Bullet Cam has to be disabled (seems stupid but, yeah)
-You can skip lot of dialogs by doing the next objective too : killing enemies for example cuts short most of the dialogues.
-The enemies are accurate, but they forget you in an incredibly short time : if you're about to get spotted, lay down, wait a sec and it'll mostly work.
-Finally, never use you melee when you are asked to, simply shoot the guy and it skips the animation.

edit :
Example of the fact that killing snipers is totally useless in some cases:

I am still interested in running this game however for quite a long duration my time will be spent putting together a Borderlands 2 run, however, once that is done I will probably go at this game full force.

Only real things I found while playing around was that some cinematic events can be skipped, for example in mission 1 you have a patrol boat which goes past you if you alert the guards on the bridge and they fire at you, you can simply run through the water with no cinematic.

There are some "clear the area" objectives which can be skipped too however some cannot due to NPC placement being right where you need to go.

Glitching :3
Happy to see someone's interested in this. I dont think I'll run the game, but I'd be glad to help in any way.

Here is a WIP test run on Act1 Mission 2, as it's the only one without death barriers at first, which makes it glitch-friendly. The final time I got (by cutting out the fails) is under 9 minutes.
It's full of fails but it shows at least the route.

There's three main glitches in this :

- The first glitch has been found by Spikeee1337 ( It consists of getting OoB in the spawn area.
Then from this glitch, I found a way to get back into the map. As you see, you gotta do it without seeing the things you are climbing on. It's not really clear in the vid, but you have to run and jump to the right, and then to the left.

- The second "glitch" is the skip outside the house with a pool. Getting on top of these screens is super hard, but if you do it right you can gain a lot of time.

- The third one is the nogun glitch, when you're trying to melee the sniper who hasnt been loaded. Having no weapon makes you run a lot faster for the rest of the mission.

The sniping then is completly failed but it was my second time doing it. It still shows most of the things to do.

Btw, will we use the Sniper : Ghost Warrior running rules ? They seem perfect to me.

*Each Mission Completed on Easy difficulty
*Bullet Cam disabled from in-game menu
*Inidivdual levels run (1 segment per mission)
*Low% (No Secrets collected)

Yeah seeing as I wrote them (yes that's my S:GW run) I think it would be silly of me to say they are bad rules lol.... , however, I won't force anyone to stick to Individual level runs specifically as people may wish to segment longer missions in to more manageable chunks.

Edit: However If i was to submit a run i would do it as IL's but this is just my preference

Here's my current work on Act 1 Mission 3.

Sorry for my shitty accuracy lol, didnt have time to redo it.
I'm not sure about the fact that the glitch I did at 1:35 saves time, but anyway it skips an encounter with enemies, and so you can keep your medikits for later.

Here's how to do it : Go prone, walk to the right, and then get back to the left, aiming at the corner, pushing shift and mashing spacebar to get through. When you're under you gotta go to the current objective, which makes the death barriers change and allow as to progress onto the level. Then you must go straight (or not really, since swimming holding forward and a strafe direction makes you go faster) to the "Press F to climb" scripted action. This will take you back into the map.

EDIT: added the second part of the mission.

The glitch I use to get back onto the level by jumping out of the elevator was also found by Spikeee1337; I then found the way to get under and to skip the whole Sniping session of the level. The path I take isn't the best, but you cant really go straight to the end, because there's cutscene triggers on the path.

Anyway if someone founds a way to get inside the water faster it'll be awesome, because doing all this takes time.

Final time for this mission will be around 8 minutes.

My final time is 7:32 on a terrible bit of gameplay [Terrible game play was mostly my sniping section i was standing instead of prone and i didn't realize so my sway was massive) without use of glitches, if i can get the first glitch to work somewhere later in the map i could cut the time down (if it is in-fact quicker)

Additional: This is my current work on mission 2-3 its only a trial run of sorts not the finished product hope you enjoy.

I'm happy that you started working on it ! Cheesy

(Ultratiny improvement, but you can go between the rock and the the palmtree @ 1m35. You can also walk on the rocks instead of the water just after killing the first enemy.)

Are you sure it isn't faster to do the second glitch ? Your time from the start of the monorail to the mission-ending screen is approx. 4min23 seconds (4:02 to 8:25), while doing the glitch I got 4:07 (0:01 to 4:08). But as you said you didn't prone... In my opinion both could be improved.

Very nice run on 2-3 even though it is a WIP. Funny how doing it normally is still a lot faster than the other missions that are broken.
I'm busy with school at the moment, but i'll try to break other missions asap.

EDIT: FOUND A FASTER WAY TO DO THE SKIP

It features a mix of the first one and the second. It takes ~2minutes to get from the "elevator" to the final cinematic, which is a big improvement. Smiley As I said, prone under, and sprint and jump to get through.

Found a pretty huge skip in Mission 2-3. It saves around 40 seconds if done right, i think :

As always it's mostly WIP so sorry for little mistakes (going the wrong way at the end lol)
Everything is pretty easy, but the OOB jumps are kinda hard, you need to get used to it. Finally to reach out of the death zone, the best way is to sprintjump straight to it, then to walk diagonally to it with W and A.
After ~half an hour of practice, I can do it everytime. It took way more time to find than to master Cheesy

Good luck !
I Started a "Glitchless 100%" Run of this game, meaning i'm not going to skip sequences, not using any glitches or anything else to "Break" the game.
The purpose of this is firstly to train in speedrunning (since this is the first one i'm actually gonna record) and it comes down to just perfect execution of the Game itself, which in my opinion can be quite interesting as well.

As you know the game is heavily Scripted, you have to wait for some NPC's to start walking, give you the task of killing specific enemies and so on.

Doing it this way shows the whole game, and i'm pretty sure it could be quite interesting to see who's getting the fastest IL time (since the IGT is recorded by the game itself).

So far i've only done Part 1 of ACT I and by learning the exact route, pattern of enemies you have to eliminate and path you need to go, there's alot of optimization that can be done.

All that beeing said, i hope someone else shares my interest in a glitchless run of this game, as it is quite good to be honest.

May not be as Entertaining as going OOB, or using Glitches to skip large portions of the game, but this way everyone who ever played this game, will have something nice to watch.
