What happened to the MP race you mentioned in a pm? It wouldn't be a problem even though one is on PAL and the other on NTSC, at least Fredrik is fine with it :).

My friend didn't feel like doing it, but maybe we can persuade him to change his mind. I'll get back to you if he does Smiley

Btw, are there going to be a bonus stream? Might be fun to do some SSBM or if anyone got a fun game to play that they know but isn't "marathon speedrun-good" at. In that case I could do OoT or Pikmin or something like that and I know e.g. Tompa could do AlttP etc. Since the meetup is going to last several days I mean ;).
I survived MIKE-Fest 1
Nice work , IMO the Zelda and MagaMan block is in a viewer unfriendly position (for Europeans) IF the times zone is MESZ with should be added somewhere.
meh
We have the place booked from 15-19th Aug, and I put the first day of streaming on the 16th since we are gonna need lots of time to setup, people to arrive etc.
We can ofc change the schedule (since it's just the first one so far) and work something out. But to answer your question, yes we are planning on having a bonus stream. And I think we were also thinking of having a stream from the practice room too ( not sure about this one tho.)

Tigger77: The times in the schedule are currently GMT+1 (I will add more later). And I think the Zelda block is fine (its from 19:00 - 04:00 for EU's on a Friday night). I guess I could move the Mega Man block right before the Mario Block?

You, uh, missed all of my runs except for the one we might not even want because noone cares about that game. If it's really going to be in, put it in the graveyard shift. Or did I never actually post my times in the other topic? Maybe I didn't. I'll go have a look-see.

Edit: Oh wait, it's this thread. I'm a dumb.

Oh, I didn't. That's right, that was in the OTHER topic. D'oh.

WELL LET'S FIX THAT WITH A PROPER GAME SIGNUP POST

Runner: Magnus "KennyMan666" von Goës Karlström

Game: Ufouria (PAL NES)
Run type: 100%
Run time: Actual gameplay, around 50 minutes. Schedule at least one hour, but make it 1:15:00 to be on the safe side.

Game: Scott Pilgrim vs. The World (X360)
Run type: New Game+, pure speed. Supreme Master (Hardest difficutly) if I get enough practice for that, otherwise Rough and Tough. Could be made a multiplayer run if there's more players of it around who would want to do that. If so, it'd probably get a little less serious.
Run time: I honestly have no idea but I think 1:15:00 is a safe estimate at least for the single player NG+.
Other: If we do donation incentives, character choice would be one for this game. If we don't, I don't know what character I'd use, but probably Stephen Stills. As a bonus, will fight Mr. Chau if he appears on the map. Will totally be played with my arcade stick.

Game: Umihara Kawase (NDS) <-- Or Super Famicom if we have that and the game, would be easier to capture
Run type: I can do two runs, shortest and longest path. But longest only if we have time to fill, I'm not as good at that. Yet!
Run time: Schedule 0:10:00 for shortest path (and that's with a verrrrrry generous margin), probably 0:30:00 for longest path.
Other: There's two longest paths, Bob's (2 bosses) and sightseeing (3 bosses). Both are the same length. I think I prefer Bob's. And it's probably a good idea to not schedule this until we know if we can actually capture the video.

Game: Duo Princess (PC)
Run type: Pure speed
Run time: Anything above 0:20:00 would bring shame and disgrace on my family.
Other: There's two characters who can clear in about the same time but Maya is boring as fuck to watch so I'd be playing Mint, if this run actually makes it in. Don't be afraid to put it first on the chopping block if time needs to be cleared.

You never posted any times, and most of your games were kinda "I can only run this game if..." so I choose to not put them in for the time being. I was also gonna send you a PM about this, but we can work something out here I'm sure Smiley

Yep, my fault. Since Freddy had listed my games from the other topic, I thought he had grabbed my listed time estimates from there too. But he had not!

But yeah fixed now.
Hey guys! I told Freddy that I'm not coming back in February, but that piece of information must have been lost along the way.
So yeah, take me off the schedule. Good luck on arranging the event!

I'd like to sign up for another game actually:

Zero the Kamikaze Squirrel
PAL SNES
any%
25 minutes

I should be able to clear it in around 15 minutes or less with practise but yea you never know ;p.

Also, any touch with any OoT-runners? I could do it if there's a demand for it but I feel a bit reluctant since 1) It's being streamed so frequently on SRL and 2) I'd feel like a fool if I did any% and it took me an hour because of failing the wrong warp or get 3½ hours on MST because I died to bongo bongo or something. It's your call though ;). The categories I could do would be any%, MST and Child Dungeons, the latter of which I'm best at (even though it's kind of a stupid category)

If you're talking about my problem with my cart then I'm glad to tell you that all it took was some rubbing alcohol for it to work. I can't guarantee it 100% though as I haven't completed the game a whole lot of times since then but it worked after blowing really hard on it so I cleaned it a bit and it has worked since.
The Duce
So by just cleaning the game, it can be completed at every time you try instead of just 30% of the attempts?

I'm guessing the problem was a reading error that failed to load the roof to blow or something. That could be triggered by some crap in the way of a connection I guess. But when I have time after my exams and stuff I'll probably play it a lot, enough to find out for sure if it's fixed now.
The Duce
If there is a way to fix it, I'd hope to find out about that. It really bugs me to see the game crash like that

Technically, they're UTC+2. GMT should not really be used any more, and UTC (essentially the same time as GMT during winter months) does not account for daylight saving (which makes sense, if you remember that most of the world doesn't save it Wink ).
I noted something similar in the SGDQ topics somewhere o.o

Yes, I like my hair split Wink

I figured out what makes the game-breaking glitch occur. If you either die at the boss while flying or game over on the stage such that it reloads, then the roof won't blow and you'll fall down to the floor with the controls locked. I don't know if this is specific to my cart or the PAL in general but it certainly does suck... If I game over the stage before and have 2-3 lives or get lives on other stages then it shouldn't be a problem.

Showing you how to PWN games!
Am I too late for the sign up?

Simon 'Niss3' Nilsson
Tetris Attack
Super Nintendo
PAL
Versus Mode, Very Hard
25 Minutes (I estimate the real deal to get sub 20 minutes, which is very consistent. I'm just taking the worst case senario into account)
(that's an estimate with an incredible bad run above 10 mintues. Normal runs are sub 10 easily, and good ones around 5 minutes. The credits goes on for about 13 minutes, nothing special, easily cut off if needed imo).

I'm also in possession of and able to speedrun NES Shadowgate Swedish version (PAL, ~20 minutes), and SNES Jap 1.0 Zelda: ALTTP (Any%, ~2 hours). So if you would like to add another player to those games or race in them, I'm able to. One problem though. I can't participate on Thursday. Just Friday to Sunday. I'll return with more specific and consistent estimates of time + credits for those game at Friday (18/5). Going to make sure I'm consistent with those games before I determine exact times.
I don't think you're too late friend. I signed up not too long ago and I'm up on the schedule. Smiley

Niss3! It's not to late, still plenty of time to sign-up! It's cool that you wanna do Tetris Attack! Smiley No worries, we are gonna change the schedule to get you in! Also, Niss3, you play 1.0 J alttp on console right? I have been following your progress! Cheesy

Crippe is on holiday right now and he is the one doing Shadowgate/aLttP on the schedule so when he come back, we will sort it out. Also Niss3, if you are free on a Saturday, you can come by Ludendi and it can sort it out that way!

If you guys also have games you wanna do on the bonus stream, please write them aswell. I have no problem of doing my bonus-games in a row but when we get more games in it we can mix it up more!^^ I have had problems with a final thesis at the Uni. and other stuff so I had to stop gaming for a while but now I can work on this again! Smiley

I don't know if you noticed but Ktwo is coming now!

It is not to late to sign-up, so if others are interested, go ahead and do so!
Caution: This user contains Kana ^_^
I'm still thinking of training some Asterix and Obelix (maybe for speedrun, but unsure) and that could certainly be bonus-threaded Wink
Is PJ
<3 ktwo
Before I go ahead and sign myself up I must ask, how much would participating cost? Aside from the varying travel expenses of course.

@Kotti and everyone outside of Sweden!

Costs: People who are NOT from Sweden can buy the pre-sell tickets for 50 SEK (about $7,50, 5,60 EUR). Last date to buy the pre-sell tickets will be the last day of July.

Edit: The schedule is up to date, as of now! http://ludendi.se/swedes-of-speed-schedule/
Well damn, I saw that number elsewhere but my mind refused to believe that it was the actual prize. In that case I guess I'll just have to come. Difficult to say what games I ccould run as I'm pretty much fully occupied until July and have next to no time to practice. I can do Total Overdose without much practice at all but for other possible games (Hitman Blood Money, Penumbra Overture+Black Plague, Lost Kingdoms, Velvet Assassin, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light co-op) I'm going to need a little more than a few warm up runs.

- Konsta 'Kotti' Mustonen
- Total Overdose
- PC
- Any% on hard
- 1:30, which is a pretty safe estimate even when setup and credits are included.

If you wanted more suggestions on bonus stream material then I can do pikmin any% (idk I usually get 10-12 days when playing casually so maybe I can get it down to 9-10 if I look up some strats), OoT (maybe any% no WW and RBA) and perhaps Fallout 3 any% (pc version please).

I can bring my own stuff for everything but fallout though.
