I will be seeing Freddy and Svenne in about 2 weeks and see how things are going so i can get a clear view of everything. Im guessing there will be many last minute things to fix, which i think will go well. As it always do when it comes to gaming!
In addition I can offer 3 more games, but given the choice I would run Crash Twinsanity!
- Final Fantasy XIII-2 - PS3 - Any% - 4:30 (actual gameplay 4hr-4hr20, damn cloudburst farming)
- Journey - PS3 - All hidden symbols (aka 100% only with gameplay changing collectibles, real 100% is considerably more boring) - 1:20 (actual gameplay 1hr~)
-Nils Jutblad (Airrider) -Battle Kid -NES -NTSC -Any% -01:00:00 game time and about 5 min credits.
Now i still can´t beat this game without dying, but hey, NOONE CAN. I might have the world record time, not recorded though, with 9 deaths, 01:02:14. Also there´s no SDA record for Battle Kid yet so i can be the first. I´ll do hardcore traini´n & polishi´n my skills of course.
How good do you have to be at a game? Is it more for fun? I´m CONSIDERING Mega Man 9 too but i´m sure i wouldn´t beat the world record. Though i could enter with a good time just for fun.
Well, you need to atleast be good at the game/games you play and it is up to you to make that judgement and stand for your own preformence but it's for fun, anything goes with the marathon luck!^^ Also a good thing is to know the game by heart so if you make a mistake you know what to do, things like that!
-Johan Liljegren (WERY) -Realm -Super Nintendo -EUR -00:30:00 (my current record lies at 00:26:40)
I will also sign up for a few games on the NES: -USA/NTSC Batman 2: Return of the Joker 00:25:00 (current lies at 00:20:12) Double Dragon 3: The Sacred Stones 00:35:00 (current lies at 00:30:15) The Goonies 00:25:00 (current lies at 00:21:32) Metal Storm 00:25:00 (current lies at 00:17:09) Roller Games 00:25:00 (current lies at 00:18:26) Rygar 00:45:00 (current lies at 00:42:36)
I might even go for Double Dragon 2: The Revenge and Street Fighter 2010: The Final Fight but will wait a little before I sign up for them
Sign my up for: -Battle Kid 2 -NES -NTSC -Probably 01:00:00-01:15:00 -Easy Mode (i think)
The thing is that BK2 to will be released in May. But i´m pretty sure that by August i´ll be one of the best runners. I´ll probably play it on Easy Mode making it less punishing and as fast as possible.
Also, sign me up for: -F-Zero GX Story Mode -Gamecube -PAL -Around 15 minutes -Normal Mode
I have a question: There´s no official speedrun record for Battle Kid. If i play through Battle Kid on Sweedes Of Speed, will that be the official record?
One thing I need to ascertain - what would sleeping arrangements, food, etc. be like? I'm planning on going to Osaka in September, and I wanted to see if I could work this in somehow. I've always wanted to go to Sweden. =]
I've been to the area (briefly) and found out that there are some places to buy food from very close to the location. They may not be ideal tho. But! You can buy groceries and cook stuff there (at least that's what people told me there) to make some cheaper and more healthy food.
The place they have for sleeping (I would say) is very limited. I guess we would have to work out how this will be fixed for those not able/willing to spend more money on that. Maybe a sleeping schedule so that not too many are there at the same time and stuff like that =S
That's all I could figure out from my trip there ^^'
It can now be told that I will also run for Street Fighter 2010: The Final Fight tp NES. Current record lies at 00:29:03 and the overall time can be set to 00:35:00. I hope to break my current record before this event starts
Hey all. Just saw this topic and thought "I'm a swede, I like speedrunning and I might be able to contribute with runs, yay!".
However, the link in the OP was "broke" as in linked to "Ludendis great game event 2012" in june and not the speedrunning event in the 14th of august as it says under "spelträffar 2012". This is also true for the main topic.
I might be able to come and speedrun S3&K and possibly OoT (even though Zruns or Zaccio might be better for that). I could ask some guys I know that wasn't on the list too. I'll be back when I've decided :).
I got about an hour and 15 minutes RTA today but at least 20 minutes went into Ice Cap and Carnival night (because I just continued until I got them) so I can definitely get it marathon friendly if I just have some backups for failing the skips together with some general optimisation of course. I also have a friend that might want to do Metroid Prime but he never thinks he's good enough and he's kind of a lurker so we'll see about that.
- Tim Hansson a.k.a. TimpZ (a.k.a. primat91) - Sonic 3 & Knuckles as Tails - PAL Wii in GC mode playing Sonic Mega Collection (I can bring my own stuff) - any% - 1 hour 10 minutes with credits
I got a 1:01 RTA yesterday so considering the 3 months I have for practise I will probably be sub 1h. I will also enter the stage select code so that if I fuck up e.g. in Ice Cap I can just exit and enter again in a couple of seconds instead of finding somewhere to die. If I fail a zip 2 times (with resets) then I will give up on it and do the natural route unless it's the ones in Flying Battery or Lava Reef since it requires you to carry glitches from the previous stage. Then I will just continue. I will reset Carnival Night once if I fail because it's really kind of easy and the first stage takes about a minute very consistently. Some stages (like Hydrocity or Marble Garden) I will pretty much try until I get them because it saves a lot of time, take almost no time to set up and they're very easy. Marathon luck you know :p.
My friend also wanted to come so here's his information:
Fredrik Rödseth a.k.a. Fisk (a.k.a. Dalfen) Metroid Prime PAL GC any% 2:20 in-game (will get back with a better estimate)
The time estimate might be a bit off as his old pb is just under 2 hours. But that is without SJ first and also with an un-optimised route. He might get it down to around 1½ hours in-game. He doesn't use a real timer so he said he'd time it within the next couple days.
Alright! It's about time we make a schedule here. We are then required to, as soon as possible, get all the times for all runs. A lot of the mentioned runs have yet not got a time, as well as some who haven't mentioned what to run and such. Please write that as soon as you can to make the job easier!!
Sign up: - Players real name and nickname: Marcin "Cyprys" Trenka. - Game title: Spyro 2: Gateway to Glimmer. - Console name: Playstation 1 (Can also be played on Playstation 2 and Playstation 3). - Region: PAL. - Category for playthrough: 100%. - Playtime: (Timed on Playstation 1, time varies on other systems), In game time: 2:30:00 (approx), Credits: 00:05:08, Opening: 00:04:10, (Opening, credits and any other cutscenes can be skipped).
Someone dun goofed when writing the list that's on the home page, because I'm currently listed as one of Dan Lindblad's runs. I don't think anyone wants to see that. (also, you can write my entire name. That is, Magnus "KennyMan666" von Goës Karlström.)
Going to re-state that I will only be able to run Umihara Kawase if there will be any means of capturing DS video available. If there is, and if we want to fill time, I could probably do a longest path (there's two of them, Bob's Path and Sightseeing Path, which both are 26 fields long, Bob's having two bosses and Sightseeing having three) run as well to show off a bit more of the game. I mean, the shortest path is nine fields long, of which only the longest should exceed 30 seconds to beat.
Attention! The first schedule is now done, uploaded and ready to be bombarded with complaints :p
If you are signed up on this, please...Only ask to have your time changed if its too much, colides with sleeping or anything like that.
ALSO, some people did not type in the sign-up thread how long their runs were gonna be, so I had to come up with a estimate of my own. Please send a PM to me about time problems etc.
What happened to the MP race you mentioned in a pm? It wouldn't be a problem even though one is on PAL and the other on NTSC, at least Fredrik is fine with it :).
