EDIT ON 2012-05-08
Current rough schedule: http://ludendi.se/swedes-of-speed-schedule/
To be changed in the future!

Sign Up Guidelines:
- Players real name and nickname.
- Game title
- Console name
- Region
- Cathegory for playthrough (low%, any% 100% or other)
- Playtime: In game time AND time including Credits. Make sure to have some time-marginal because it is extremly important that we keep up with the schedule.

Original post by Frezy Man:
[hidden]If a game is already mentioned in the list don´t be afraid to sign up for that game as well. The best players will probably have to race eachother on different screens. Race is awesome!

So far when I am releasing this topic we have 10 runners that have signed up with about 20 hours of speedrunning. So we will have at least 20 hours of speedrunning show. We hope that (and expect) that more people will be signing up for the marathon. We can have a marathon for 4-5 days if we get enough runners signed up.

This topic is made for discussions about what games will be included in the marathon. Runners can sign up here as well, or suggest what they can be play to see if it would be appreciated.

We will have 1-5 days of marathon. What the marathon includes will primarily be discussed here. The official schedule will be posted at Ludendi.se

And as I've already told Freddy, Umihara Kawase I can only run if there's a DS capture device on site (unless someone actually has a Super Famicom and the game to bring, buuuuuut), noone actually cares about Duo Princess but it's just ~20 minutes so it can be a filler game, and the kind of run Scott Pilgrim will ACTUALLY be depends on if the people to multiplayer with will be there.

So yeah.

I still have that Google Spreadsheet with runs from the previous topic. I'll start making some more notes there soon. Ish. Okay, not until Thursday afternoon, I have my plate full this week. And eventually make said spreadsheet public when it's actually up to date.

Might be ready to add Little Samson too, but there's so many places to fuck up even an Easy run with warps, so I'm not sure I actually want to run it live. Okay, it would be great blooper fodder, but...

EDIT: Put time estimates in. Tried to overestimate for a cushion.

Hey sign me up too!

Real Name: Ian Green
Nick: RoboSparkle

I can run:
Batman: Arkham Asylum - XBox 360 (Time - 2:30ish depending on difficulty)
Batman: Arkham City - XBox 360 (Time - 2:30 - 3:30 depending on difficulty and whether I play the catwoman episodes)
Spyro 2 - PS1 (Time: 1 - 3 hours depending on whether I do a 0 orb, 40 orb or 100% run)
James Pond - Mega Drive (Time - 1 hour)
James Pond 2: Robocod - Mega Drive (Time - 50 mins)
James Pond 3: Operation Starfi5h (Time - 40mins - 1 hour depending on whether I do good ending or bad ending)
Fantastic Dizzy - Mega Drive (Time - 1 hour)

The Mega Drive and Playstation are PAL. I can run NTSC but someone else would need to provide the consoles and games.
Are there different region XBox 360s?

I can run:
The Legend of Zelda (NES)
Zelda II (already booked, Race?)
Link to the Past
Estimates! This thread needs estimates!

It helps with scheduling.

This sounds like a lot of fun.

Oh, yeah, what Carc said. Time estimates, and preferably run type.
Let the music play!

great to see people signing up. I did an update of the first post with more guidelines.
Schedule with more information will be coming later, also more updates. We have to focus on some other details for the moment. Please keep posting information about what you want to run - including more necassary information about your runs (Time estimates, region, cathegory and more).

Caution: This user contains Kana ^_^
Edenal and me will be running Goof Troop in Co-op.
Time estimate: 30 mins, maybe 35 including marathon luck =D

(Save me, who in the signed-up-list is a non-Swede? John Nurminen essentially does not sound Swedish, and I'm just interested ^^)
- John 'Pro_JN' Nurminen (100% Finnish but a Swedish citizen Alko!^^)
- Zelda 2
- Nintendo Entertainment System
- PAL
- SS TG Extreme Rules race against Arctic_Eagle
- 1:55:00 H/M/S

______________________
AS FOR ME:

SMB2 (PAL) Any% Race: 20 minutes (dxtr has agreed with these terms)

- Name: Emil Blom
- Player name: ozzy88
- Game title: Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
- Console: Xbox 360 (Xbox Live Arcade)
- Category: Any%
- Playtime: I'm guessing 45 minutes for the game and the credits.

- Notes: Richter Skip can take some time (remember the blooper from Romscouts last marathon run?)
I am heavily considering using a save or two just to make it more marathon safe. If I die in the more dangerous parts in the end I should still be able to meet this estimate then.
I usually don't time my runs since I go for best in-game timer on XBLA. So these estimates are based on my recorded personal best on twitch.tv (~24:07) and an srl race (~25:25).

I'm a Brit - not sure how much of a giveaway the name is though.

I edited my post above for the time estimates, etc.
100% for Zelda II would be dreadfully boring to watch.

I am not familiar with the "Extreme 100%" run in Zelda 2. As I usually use the fairy trick when I am able to. But if this is the criteria, I could practice this and will probably be under the 1:55.00 time limit. I play and own the NTSC cart btw.

levelling up to 8/8/8 would be dreadfully boring to watch.  by 100% i presume this just means all items, heart/magic containers, spells, upsword/downsword.  this adds barely 10 minutes to the any% route.  so it wouldn't be tedious, even though i admit it makes the run less challenging.

These rules are not on SDA... SDA does not have 100% rules for Zelda 2, yet!

Anyway, facts for you and all other interested in running Zelda 2 (so far):

These are the times John and Artic_eagle got for these set of rules.

01:35:18 John Nurminen PAL
01:26:35 Kristian 'artic_eagle' Emanuelsen NTSC

Artic_Eagle is the SDA champion with 4 SDA runs on both NTSC/PAL so we can assume he can play both ways so it should not be a matter for him if he would turn up. I would probebly say you could train on NTSC seeing how everything except the outdoors speed and some minor details are pretty much the same!? But then transfer your skills over to PAL.

Edit: If there comes an agreement between the players, obviously we can change the rules/platforms!^^ But this is how things are for now!
.
'extreme rules' sounds like a regular 100% run plus the TG rule that you can't fairy through keyholes. (i.e dumb)
I made the mistake of taking up (TG) once before so I dare not say them anymore.

And I don't even know what a regular 100% run is, no one does for you see, then it would mean that you could actually do a 100% on SDA but there are no rules for it here or on SRL yet.

Edit: I will ask John if he could do a "proper" 100% then, but then what that is, must be decided.

Are people content? So we can talk about all good things ahead?;D

While this should be the thread for listing what games you want to run in the marathon I just have to add that the rule about not using fairy to bypass doors is, indeed, dumb.
