Yesterday I watched the run again and somehow this game now seems like a joke to me. Six years of developement for a game you can run through in less then 20 minutes. I mean, you can run through Portal in under 20 minutes but that game was meant to be a short game.
Really great work the runners have done here. Thumbs up!

Game qualities aren't measured by how long the speedrun is. I personally think it's good that it can be finished in such short time, it shows how free the game is.

Cortez won't agree with me, but I still think the last segment is somewhat "bad". It's probably not possible to just run past all enemies, but standing a great portion of time on one place reloading and changing weapons isn't really good.
Hey, is anybody considering running true ending? It would be cool to see

the enemies are reacting random as hell, sometimes they dont bother and sometimes they just waiting to shot you.
also the aim vary extrem, sometimes they hit you with a single shot and sometimes they dont hit when you are next to them.
In my previous attempts the guys stand still behind that hole in the wall so i expect they stand there again.
Since the run is up on sda i still think there is a better route and maybe there is one.
hmm a safe way for the red forst will be a good start.

maybe i will do a run with the true ending,  but the extra part there seems to be annoying random. first will try to find a better route for the bad ending run.

Regarding the qualities. I for one hoard many a speedrun on my harddrive for viewing pleasure. Thus, I mainly intend on low to medium quality, which in most case are still viewable.

This is yet the worst low quality ever percieved by my eyes in SDA history. There were some videos which I upgraded to medium quality right away (Metroid Prime, AvP, Deus Ex), but this feels like watching the 'Command & Conquer for DOS' FMVs while injecting liquid heroin into my eyeballs.
Downloading High Quality now.

like i ALREADY said maybe, but atm i would say no because im busy with trying to improve the old route.

@Wulfenlord: harsh comment.ok thats your opinion. i never awaited that someone would load the LQ or the NQ because of the size of the run.

Well, even the HQ sucks, not to mention the resolution is really weird. Judging by the letters, it looks like the run was recorded in 400x300 or similar. I really don't believe it's 720x526. I've actually noticed the same thing in your AoE3 run. Same resolution and same text bluryness.

Isn't it because you are recording half-size ? That would make sense. I recommend to use full-size as fraps won't have to use resize filter that is never as good as native resolution and you'll have more fps.

yes, i recorded the stalker run with half size but thats not the problem. the blurry quality is caused by the way i made the videos ( a combo of windows movie maker and divx conveter).

in the aoe3 is used full-size,
the videos in the thread are made the same way but the final videos will be made with meGUI.

Why didn't you use AviSynth + MeGUI?
...or rather anri-chan since you need some encoding "skill" to manage avs+megui ? Seriously, wmv is one of the worst containers and codecs ever created. It should be forbidden.

I hope it'll get better as well as smoother recordings.

hey dude, congrats on getting the video posted! its a very nice time. a small detail in the credit giving-ness tho, i didnt come up with the shortcut in the wild territory, i think teknikaali did but im not sure. the idea to blast the scientist in yantar with a grenade tho was mine :p not that it matters much lol:

I've played the game and I enjoyed watching the run.
However I do have a question about the Garbage segment. How did you manage to open the gate at the Duty checkpoint at the end?
IIRC, the soldiers only warns you to not enter, but you can open it or sth.

the right part of the door is movable. there is a little corner, where you can run push the door open.
Thank you for explaining. I've never seen it done this way. Have seen it happen with throwing a grenade at it. The explosion kills 2 of the 3 Duty members at the gate and it opens up. And none of the Duty memebers get hostile at all. At least not when I tried it.
Kinda weird isn't it?

i alreday improved most of my route only the end of the red forest is missing, i trying to do it without the psi-helmet but it doesnt seem to work.

and i found away for the room with the enemies to walk through( in the part under the reactor). the  final time for part under the reactor will be something around 2:20
It's impossible to finish the game without psi-helmet. There is a death trigger right after the wooden log that will instantly kill you if you don't have the helmet.

in front of the wooden log is the trigger for the next level, but unfortunately i found no way to get there without the psi helemet.

but anyway i will rerun stalker.
