Hi, SDA

If anyone is like me and enjoys 3D puzzle platformer genre & wanted a run shorter than The Talos Principle, I just wanted to put in a good word for Pneuma: The Breath of Life which came out on the 27th of February on Steam.
It's a gorgeous, puzzle platformer with a heavy religious message of God creating a world but not realising why He would have created it with puzzles & himself without a noclip ability.

It's a bit expensive right now at $18 Australian Dollars but it was a fun 2.5hr initial playthrough with some taxing puzzles, 3 side quest puzzles which aren't really interesting or worth it.

So far as i can tell there is only 1 puzzle that changes its solution from playthrough to playthrough & there is only 1 piece of RNG.
I had a go at running through it and am hoping to record it soon, but unoptimised as the route was I got down to 33:18 which I think is pretty okay.

So far I haven't found any glitches but I found a couple of skips in case anyone is interested in running this title:

- Chapter 2: Start room - the game wants you to pull the marble platform forward by looking at the eye but the skirting that runs across the gap is large enough to jump across, it's kind of a tricky change
of direction but I've gotten it fairly consistent & it probably saves about 2 seconds.

- Chapter 2: room with the 3 platform you spin round - if you just don't make eye contact you can just jump over all 3 gaps without swiveling the platforms as the game intends, it seems like a kind of precise set of jumps & I haven't done it in a run yet.

Don't know if there are others, don't know if an optimised run can get sub-30 but i'm hoping to at least go 32:00.

My thoughts on category:
Any% - complete all the Chapters without doing the Body, Soul, Spirit "side-quest" puzzles. I start my timer when the intro voiceover says "Infinite Surface" as you get control pretty much right after that & stop after you click the end item.

100% - would be all Chapters including the Body, Soul, Spirit "side-quests" but I think it's Spirit that can't be done on a single runthrough as it requires getting to i think chapter 6 to start the puzzle & then you do a bunch of save/quit's to load the previous chapters where the other objectives are hidden & you have to do them in sequence & then go back to the room in chapter 6 to get the final one, so far this has been too boring for me to even do once so I'm not sure whether there are more tedious objectives after that, so I don't think 100% would be a very fun run.
Thread title:
Hey unimaginative handle. sub-30 is possible i just did a run and got 27:53 it wasnt without mistakes maybe sub-25 is possible im gonna do more runs soon. What are your thoughts on optimal movement usually jumping everywhere is faster but it doesnt seem like it makes a difference in pneuma. In my run i mainly walked and tried to cut corners where i could, jumping on stairs might be faster especially at the start but i havent timed it or anything.
Hey guys! This should make for a very unique run - Here are some things I found:

On Chapter 2, the 3 platform room you've mentioned, you can fling yourself across to the other side from the first platform.

On Chapter 5 room IV you can skip rearranging the bridge completely by going to the bottom right of the garden and jumping onto the ledge and then to the door!

good find dont suppose you know if its possible on PC i dont see why not might even be easier. also i recorded a run if anyone is interested
Good solid run! I will try and get one up over the weekend.
Sadly on Xbox the load times are always between thirty seconds and one minute, so I won't be challenging your time. But it will still be good for comparing routes.

Solid run, isthatjames. Sub-25 looks like it could be done.
Our routing isn't that far off but my run was using bunny-hopping so i'm guessing the 'floaty' feel of the jumps is way slower than just running.
I do think that jumping up stairs is quicker because it kind of glues you to the stairs, & jumping backwards seems to not look as floaty but apart from sliding the bookcase & maybe the final chapter i can't think of long areas where you won't need to look at things.

Last run I did I improved a lot from my initial time but wrecked it on Fork In The Path IV by falling off the spiral staircase 4 times & I missed the first cycle on alligning the planets; I'll get there.
Kind of hope they patch a better hit-box on the buttons though.

Wow, good find on the Chapter 5 Room IV, works on PC; that's a good time saver.
The platform fling in Chapter 2 will take some time to get consistent, but I haven't gotten the positioning to jump through consistent yet either.
I've just picked up the game today and i found a way to make the run even more unique. this is one skip i've found

on prologue  if you catch yourself in between 2 pixels and mash jump when moving your anolog side to side you can boost up
http://xboxclips.com/Zecora+MLP+1/43aaae48-a8b5-4ceb-9017-ae30c172c2fd

This can be used in chapter 2 aswell with a torch after the first room. I will try to post some of the other skips i've found they make this run difficult
Here are the rest of the skips i've found

Chapter 2
this skip involves walking along the outer platform of the rail
http://xboxclips.com/Zecora+MLP+1/2e9b24b5-a7e5-4910-b001-171d6021ba10

This uses the stuck launch used in the prologue to jump over the railing to avoid jumping down the stairs
http://xboxclips.com/Zecora+MLP+1/2218793b-d572-4b03-a27a-a1735361b13f

This is used so you don't have to waste time on the second door
http://xboxclips.com/Zecora+MLP+1/6d9567b2-7b7c-46a0-93b2-bf7d27243796

This skip is the hardest in the game so far you have to avoid invisible wall to skip turning the bridge
http://xboxclips.com/Zecora+MLP+1/8e16d578-51d1-4d3c-bdcc-47904812e5c86

Thats all the skips i've found so far there is an out of bounds in chapter five that can possibly skip the whole chapter and save about 8 minutes but i haven't found a way to get to the exit
Nice finds! I saw your clip on how to get a possibly useful  out of bounds on chapter 5 - I was able to get onto the solid ground just outside the exit with it, sadly it looks like there is no way to get into the exit room from this position.

I really hope we can skip this chapter as Room One is just tedious and head-ache inducing for me
thanks for the input i was trying for a long time to see if it was possible. now i can go one looking for other skips like this one i found yesterday

cool skips zecora i will be sure to try them out. Also i got a run under 25mins!! its here if anyone is interested

great run! if you use the skips i found and get them consistent sub 24 is definitely possible maybe even sub 23.

I think we should separate console and pc runs since console load time are significantly different then pc load times
