Pink Pong is a Japan and PAL only budget game for the PS2 (in Japan it's called Love Pingpong). It is my favorite game on the PS2, even above any Final Fantasy, Metal Gear, Team ICO game, Grand Theft Auto, or any other major PS2 franchise.

Although the game isn't available in the U.S., the PAL version has a 60HZ mode that makes it run at full speed and in color. It will require either getting a PAL PS2 or using a swap disc or mod chip.

This is a fun game with simplistic ping pong gameplay and Mario Power Tennis-like power shots added in. In fact, I think this game is better than Mario Power Tennis due to the better pacing. In addition to that, there are many beautiful (by PS2 standards) women to play as and against, as well as many cool costumes and accessories to put on them.

Anyway, the types of runs that can be done in Pink Pong are Free Play runs once all the characters are unlocked (with different categories for each difficulty) and 100% runs, where every character, item, and costume is unlocked. The Free Play runs are half an hour and the 100% runs should be an hour and a half.

In a 100% run, you'll have to beat all 12 opponents in Dramatic Mode while collecting all 9 accessories (done by scoring with power shots that trigger set pieces throughout the gym), which will unlock both unlock-able characters, twelve costumes, and nine accessories. Then, return all 100 balls in the ball-returning mini game for an additional accessory and beat all 11 opponents as the character of your choice to unlock an additional costume. You can defeat the Dramatic mode opponents in any order, and you can even do the mini game before any of that. The Free Play has to be done after the Dramatic mode however. When you have all 10 accessories, 13 characters, and 14 costumes, the run is over and you can sit back and watch those credits you've been skipping!

Oh, and if you haven't gotten all 9 items from Dramatic mode, you can get to 9 or 10 points, then miss serves on purpose so you can try again. You can use any difficulty to collect the items. Easy and Normal give you too few opportunities, Hard opponents might return it. Once you score all of them and trigger the cutscene of the gym falling apart, you can turn it to easy after that match. Also, make sure it's on Easy when you do the Free Play for the extra costume.

Finally got a single segment run done in the 100% Hard category, I got 1:23:13, which beats the milestone time of 90 minutes. No easy feat. I could maybe do sub 75 minutes, but that would require significant improvements. I look forward to competitors. At least one would be good. I forgot to show the settings at the end, but I figured anyone who's played the game could watch the run and infer that it was hard mode on their own, given how frequently opponents power shot and return power shots. Anyway, here it is!
I improved my PB from last year with a loss-free, break-free run.
Although not as impressive, here are my runs of the two easier difficulties in 100%. Maybe they'd make for a better jumping-on point for non-fans.
