piece of cake!
that trick is awesome, I think it will be abused Cheesy

In the ice lake, or the water gap with boxes to jump on and go across it.
etc...
Haha, that's the same trick I've found and wanted to keep a secret Wink Yes, it saves a lot of time in a lot of places.

Speed is everything!
Hehe, I've already thought if you've found that trick already... Grin

But in Black Plague it doesn't seem to work, or I've done it wrong. Is it just pressing space and tab?
It only works in the ascending part of the jump, and when you open the inventory the jump gets extended in the velocity of the jump (I hope I said it right...). I mean, if you press jump and immediately open the inventory, you'll jump very high but not very far. If you press jump and wait a short moment, then you'll jump farther but less high.

I hope you understand Smiley But yeah, press jump and as good as immediately open the inventory, it should work and otherwise it has been fixed in Penumbra: Black Plague.

piece of cake!
Yes, taht's right, I've just tested it, you go higher than far...
Anyway, if you press the inventory button, a bit later, you'll go less high, but far.
That's good for high places, I mean the place where you have to put a scale (more than 1 times, when you see the first spider, and when you go on a room with some lights, etc...)

That would have been better on black plague, because of the gap in the snow, and in the water...
I've tested also like in HL2 to jump on a item you are bringing on the hand, but it seems to not work, anyway, I didn't tested it long enough...

I've tested it in Black Plague but it doesn't work! :-[

Jumping on an item like in HL2 works! You just have to take an item, walk (or run) forwards and press space all the time. If you know how, it is very easy.^^
Speed is everything!
Now I've completed Black Plague in 38:50mins, and there is still much place to improve.  Cheesy
I think a time under 35 is possible or even less.  Wink
piece of cake!
give us a video, for the next rerun.
Speed is everything!

It was just a test run, but now I think I'm ready to run and record! Grin
Never any doubt!
Well I will run a record too.I have played black plaguie a lot so I know many tricks I could use but I think I will keep them for me.  Tongue

Hehe, we will see who is faster, but at the time I have not much time.
But I think that when I got my new hardware, I'll start recording... Wink
Never any doubt!
I just want to ask which time do you say that is a record. In the end of black plaguie it shows you your time that you have played(it doesn`t count the movies and loadings) which is the real record for me.That thing isn`t the same in Ovrerture so there is another thing...  Wink
Speed is everything!
As I already said: 38:50, but that was just a free playthrough with tricks, not a speedrun.
I think I could come under 35mins, but I never tested it really, just a free playthrough with tricks! Grin
And as I already said, if I have enought time, I'll do a real speedrun with recording etc... Cheesy

Edit: I've also done a single segment, but I failed almost at the end when u have to repair the destroyed pipe... Grin
That's really annoying! Grin But this moment is very hard to practise in a single segment....

Maybe I'll do a single segment, but with better hardware.... with no laggs! Grin
Never any doubt!
OK.But you didn`t answer my question.Well your time was 38:50 but I ask you:Is this the time when you have played the game(how long is you video with all the clips IN the game)or this is the time black plaguie had wroted to you in the end(the statistic for your game showed in the end when you beat it).Which of this two you are times you say because there is a big difference betwen them(about 15 min. if I`m not wrong)

Which momnet is that I couldn`t understand you.  Huh?
Speed is everything!
I mean the ingame statistic time at the end.

And with the moment I mean level 19 - chemical laboratory.
At this moment the game began start lagging and I died in the gas... Grin

I finally played, and just finished, Penumbra: Black Plague. It was a very nice game.
I wish you both good luck making a run of the game. Maybe (Probably) I'll work on a run myself sometime Wink

Hmm, I couldn't figure out the password for the Schmup.exe program in the PC of Amabel Swanson. I'm curious what that is, I guess some little schmup game... Wink

EDIT: I'm also curious with what kind of tricks you guys come up with. I just went through the game and found a couple of things myself.
Speed is everything!

Hehe, I got it! But I don't tell u what it is. Tongue
Never any doubt!
Well thanks with my tricks I will try to make it under 33 min. or so...  Tongue (I am not lying)

About that game, well I have watched a Video in Youtube(you won`t find my tricks there) where they showed the code and the game(it isn`t sometihng interesting but it`s fun  :D) but I couldn`t remember the code and I couldn`t find the video but I`ll try agein(you may try too).
Yeah I know the code now and have checked the game and the stuff in the game's directory. It's funny but not really too interesting Smiley

Anyway, ZeRo was going to run a Single-Segment and Igyanata a segmented run, correct?
Damn, can't wait to see the runs now Grin

Yeah, a SS should be easy, as I already said in my first test attempt I failed almost at the end because of a big lagg attack! Grin

Edit: But at the moment I'm annoyed of the recording method, Fraps does stop the video after each loading zone, that sucks in a SS....
Also the video is getting a huge file. In my test attempt I used HyperCam. Grin I still have the video but it's always lagging...
I think I'll try GameCam again!^^
Never any doubt!

Single-Segment means that you run the game in one sitting, no saving and loading, from start to finish. Segmented means that you use savegames, either manual saving/quicksaves or autosaves. When using autosaves, you don't get a save penalty (Which is a half second, 0.5, here on SDA). So always try to use autosaves, and the Penumbra games are perfect for this since there are a lot of autosaves Smiley
Hope you understand this.

That's true actually Wink Though it shouldn't matter too much, but it would still be a little more organized. Someone (One of you two I guess) can start a Penumbra: Black Plague thread Smiley

EDIT: Just did a somewhat optimised playthrough (Stuff could still be done a little faster) with the tricks I'm aware of and got a time of 0:33:40.
Never any doubt!
Thanks I understond everything.  Cheesy Grin Cheesy

I will make a theme for Black Plaguie so you can talk only for Overture.  Wink
What happened to TheVoid's speedrun of Penumbra Overture?

Did he ever finish it?

--------

EDIT: Ah I see, on hold, never mind
Yeah I'm afraid so Undecided

Sorry about that. It will be finished though, I'm just not sure when.
