yeah but there are problems with that:
how do you wan to kill king dodongo?
if I remember correctly, the bombchu-bowling shop opens after you got bomb bag - or was it after beating dodongo? not sure..
If you can find a way to beat dodongo without bracelett (bombflowers) or bombs than its possible (bombchus dont work on him Wink )
I've managed to kill him with bombchus. However, don't know if it can be done normally.
Speed is the key.
You need to get them into his mouth somehow. It doesn't work with backflip. :-/
hey everyone, i was just wonderin, how do you get through hylia lake as child link to get the golden scale Huh?
hey, i was gonna try to do this also, but im stuck on how you get through lake hylia as a child to get the golden scale Huh?
Can someone check the possibility of doing a ground jump + jumpslash over king zora? It might just make getting bombs worth it...

Well, the cutscene of King Zora moving his ass is roughly a minute long. Many people exaggerate that time because it's so annoying. Tongue

A thought: How much time can be saved in Forest Temple with ground jumps? If they total to over a minute, it might be worthwhile in a TAS to get the bomb bag from bombchu bowling and do the C-button trick.
Speed is the key.

Heh, he's too high.

Don't forget, it would also allow us to skip gold scale and bottle  Wink
Yes, that is true...
Speed is the key.
We can totally rule out acute angles, even if we could get through one, there would be nowhere to go.
hey guys, i was plannin on tryin out this run. if anyone could give me a website, or an explanation on how to use some of these glitches, it would realy help out

honestly that fence is grabbable. Anyone try groundjumps on it? YOu need alot of height though so it doesn't look promising. Secondly, I went and fought dodongo w/ chus and brang and all items and couldn't kill him except w/ bomb.

You know you can pause the game right when king zora starts moving right? You can even play sun's song and other ocarina warp songs.... only problem is that when you warp back he is in his normal position  Angry  Cry

As far as jumpslashes go, it looks like you have a much better shot ON THE OTHER SIDE OF HIM. So I suggest finding a way over to his right side. That is... if you can get through on that side anyways, I couldn't. It's a shame you can't jump and then do a ground jump lol. then we could get on the fence.

sounds like a plan littlel, you can find most of the imfo current to the run on the first post, though I think it still needs to be updated w/ saria's song skip and a potential bombchu bowling.

Wait? we can't have anything on down? ... slingshot, ocarina, bombchu, crap. That means unnecessary pausing as well, don't forget to factor that into the time, though slingshot isn't used much (mainly in jabu).

Yeah, the fence is grabable, it's just higher than it looks. Angry

When I killed KD with bombchus I had to pull one out, then float up to his mouth, then he swallowed it.

That megajump is a huge timesaver. Just go beat stalfos key room. Then go play Song of time, and go do megajump and go to block puzzle room. Utilize hoverboots and ground jump to skip stuff, go to twisted corridor, go to stalfos room, rock stalfos + get bow then Save Warp to entrance.

Is it faster to do the SG skip trick (if we already had bombs) than to just push it? (when done quickly)???

You can probably do the mega jump with bombchus aswell.

So. lets try to kill dodongo w/ chu then. Then we can skip bomb + gauntlet. Its funny because if we had the stupid bombs wer could groundjump and pull out the chu >_<

OK groundjump lets you skip normal ground messages like the 1 in block push room + twisted corridor + wallmaster message etc... but not dialogues between characters. So, you can't skip a kaepora dialog or the cutscene for minuet for example.
ok thanks alot for the help ^^
Speed is the key.
Whoa, the forest mega jump might be possible with a bombchu, but it's not something I would recommend doing, even in a segmented run.

OOOOOH  MY GOSH! NM WHAT I SAID. groundjumps when stored let you skip the kaepora dialogs. I kid you not. All normal text box messages, + kaepora dialogs (like the 1 on the way to castle) can be skipped... the 1 outside kakariko can be skipped too. I'm pretty sure you can skip all of them.

Yautja - yeah...  Cheesy

LOL only way to skip lava pits message. Mark it! in 100% run (if they get bombs before adult... skip lava pit message).

Hehe, sweet. That's a minute right there, isn't it?

We should test this even more. Maybe we can skip more stuff.
I forget, but do we ever talk to the Keaton-mask guard?  Wouldn't glitching past him save a lot of time?  Could we megajump then (if we don't have bombchu, we could get them from the well)...  Could be another big timesaver.

About Dodongo.  I'm still not clear about some things.

The main reason why we can't use bomb flowers on King Dodongo is the fact that you can't lift them up (no power bracelet)?

There has been some mention about getting the bomb bag from bombchu bowling, or something...  Does getting the bomb bag give us automatic power bracelet powers?  I know it defeats the purpose of not getting bombs, but whatever.

And what is this c-buttons glitch, I keep hearing about?
Speed is the key.
Acryte - You don't seem to be able to skip the kaepora cutscene outside the castle... I can groundjump to the vines and climb them but the dialogue kicks in as soon as I reach the top. :-/

Ok, so I no longer need to go back to Saria to Learn Saria's Song, right?  That's the only change we've seen so far because as of now I still need Gauntlets for the Dodongo Battle to lift the Bomb Plants.

So you guys are looking into a way to kill Dodongo with Bombchus and a way to bypass King Zora?  Sweet.

I'll go ammend my route with the Saria find.

--------------

Comments on segment 2:

Maybe you could get out of Link's house without changing the view? Would save ½ sec.

- It takes longer to get out in the low-angle view, it's harder to roll accurately.

You did a very fast turn + backflip after the Saria cutscene, fastest I've seen so far. Nice.

- I lost fractions of a second on it, I've been faster.  If you are too fast, though, you mess up.

You don't get the climb at first (after getting rupees in grass), probably lost 1 sec.

- That' was total BS.  Stupid angle.  The Z button wouldn't lock the angle.  That was actually the worst looking mistake.

Backflipping over the fences was extremely well done.

- Not entirely.  I was a bit off.  It's very hard to get the perfect angle, so I settled for the 90 degree turn after climbing on the ramp.

You had a superb boulder area, Kokiri Sword text-box was skimmed through perfectly.

- I messed up.  I backwalked to the edge after the Sword.  I lost .5 seconds having to step "up" at the blue rupee at the end.

You missed a few slashes on the bushes, lost 1 sec.

- Yeah, I hit the fence with the first slash, and I lost orientation.  Usually it's a quick three slashes, but I was pushed out of position.

Nice backwalk to shop.

- Again, I settled for a safe angle.  Optimal would be slanted a bit more so I arrive on the platform.

Try using roll-jumps when crossing the river, I'm pretty sure they speed things up.

- I'll look into that.  I've tried sidehopping, but I never get the blue rupee.  Backflipping is just as fast as going forward.

Are you sure it's faster to side hop over the river instead of just plain swimming over it? It seems faster to me. If it is faster to sidehop across, maybe you could backflip over the tree root, then backwalk into side hop position, then side hop 3 times, turn around and talk to Mido? Maybe it's too hard, but I think you can walk against the root to align yourself.

- It's hard to align for the part over the root.  The camera angle out of the shop is weird.  If I could lock it "straight", I could walk up to the edge, then sidehop to the back, then quick turn and side hop to Mido.  I'll give it a try.

You missed 2 slashes at one Deku Baba, ½ sec lost.

- One slash was before he was vulnerable.  But I still lost at least .5 seconds.

There's probably 5 seconds of improvements that I can manage.
