Slightly off topic, but I'd like to put in a nomination for The Journeyman Project games to be run if you get bored of Myst running. Also, do upload that Myst 5 video, we await your offering with baited breath(sardine bait, if you're curious).

nice to hear that about Myst V!
The Myst V run is now available. 25:07

Good job, Digama!  Pretty cool whale drawing shortcut, and I didn't know you could just draw the final symbol in the hub.

You have done well!

You are worthy of the new D'ni!

(more sappy lines I can't bear to experience again, lol)
Quote from digama:
If you break the Fissure without capturing Gehn, he will come out and shoot you with his dart gun. The credits roll regardless of how you die.
Not quite true.  There are 4 different endings when opening the fissure:
1) "Good ending" (open fissure with Catherine freed)
2) "Mediocre ending" (open fissure with Catherine captured, and an occupied prison book in your inventory)
3) "Bad ending" (open fissure with Catherine captured, and an empty prison book in your inventory)
4) "Placeholder/selfish ending" (open fissure with Catherine captured, and no prison book in your inventory)

That last one doesn't kill you.  It's actually the best definition of any%, as your character's goals are satisfied (you fall through the fissure & go home), you just ignore the extra side-missions of freeing Catherine & trapping Ghen.  Obviously, a segmented run would "luck-manipulate" the correct telescope code, and finish in two minutes.  A single-segment would play normally, deliver the prison book to Ghen, refuse to use it, and then open the fissure while Ghen is still holding onto it.

Pointless ramblings:
That 4th fissure ending seems to be a placeholder cropped together at the last minute.  You can even hear the beginning of Atrus's warping sound effect just before it cuts to you falling into the abyss.  While fissure-ending-3 would be best to use in the same conditions, Atrus makes a brief mention of the prison book in your inventory, so my guess is that the developers realised too late that that video couldn't be used if you don't have the book on you.

While this would normally not be a problem, as you can't acquire the telescope code without also getting the book, there is that window of opportunity where Ghen is holding onto the book because you refused to use it.  Oops.

Besides this "any%", and the "best ending", I don't think any of the other endings are worth it.  You die in 4 of them, are trapped in the book forever in 3 of them, and the last is "completing some, but not all, of your optional mission objectives".
Just thought I'd give an update. I am in the middle of optimizing my Uru speedrun, but I recently discovered that in the Revelation run, you can completely skip the Dream trip and all accompanying cinematics, which saves a huge amount of time. I did a run with this new skip, and it comes out to 48:01, which is an improvement of about 24 minutes. I'll post it after I make it also do reasonably well on the other parts.
Can you upload Revelation run in High Quality please?
Most of the runs have been deleted. Could someone please re-upload them please?
I'm interested in resurrecting this series and running these games
