I've been playing this game a lot, and dig the fast action and style.  I just finished a preliminary run of the game at 1:37:22 (didn't record, just got splits).  I was playing on easy, with maxed out stats and jumping from mission to mission in order.  Now that I look back, I wasted time finding the sequential missions, whereas I could have just done all the episodes in the region and moved on, saving 12 for last.  I didn't use any cards, and wore the default costume as well.  I think if I had a stop of red cards, I could easily bring the time down, but would then have to spend off time grinding out more money to buy them, although they're not terribly expensive.

This was kind of a test run to see what the ballpark time for the game was, and I was really sloppy at a lot of parts, and some missions I had only played once before, but remembered well enough.  I did stop to find Scarlett a couple of times to refill my blood, which cost several seconds, and could be replaced with a red card.

Basic stuff that I have been doing:

Entering "Mondovision" by holding right click (subweapons) cancels the animation when you roll after dashing 3 times in a roll so you don't have to wait for Mondo to slide and recover.  This also cancels out the recovery when healing, and can allow you to dodge instead of wait for the animation to finish.
Headshots are the fastest way to take out most common wires, and especially for those with guns.  There are the ones that dodge, and of course, those where headshots don't work, and adrenaline boost will take care of them, provided there is enough blood.
Full charge beam works great on most bosses and ogre wires (Episode 6 boss, Nega-Mondo).
That ... is pretty much all I've come up with to speed things up, other than being at the right place after a fight for less travel.  I haven't found any skips or sequence breaks, but hoping some will surface.

I still need to work on the first fight with David in phase 2, as there's that one attack where he teleports right to you, which is a pain in the ass.  I'll also need to work on dodging the arms on the Episode 6 boss, as well as the eyeballs on the train mission (Episode 10?  Forgot).  The third phase of the samurai in Episode 7 I need to practice; I just can't get the dodge timing down.  That horrible, horrible boss in Episode 11 ... yeah, I'll need to practice.  Alice, on the other hand, is easy for me.

Otherwise, I'm also trying to gauge the interest in anyone else to pick up this game as well.  I think I'll be practicing this, and getting the levels down, and where red cards can be used for maximum efficiency.  I don't think a new game run on easy would be all that bad either; just gotta know what needs to be upgraded, and I'm thinking dash, bullet shooter and charge shot as priorities.  Hopefully I'll record a sloppy run and post it to get an idea of what's going down.
Thread title:
i am also interested in runnign the game although, i would prefer it segmented on ng (with buffs on nightmare) just wondering if the dark booster is inf blood uses (like bar starts full and u can spam) i would prefer it to be that way to run certain bosses other then grinding cash for the cards. Also is there any skip the the phone calls that u know of? ii get annoyed by it and not sure if tis linked the ingame saves as thats what im thinking
Also the david fight i find it easier if u mass blood on enemies b4 him (kill eyes last) and jsut shoot him to death, his phase 2  and first phase die easily to ur guns (i prefer the machine gun more then blaster vs most bosses ) and when he charges in 2nd spam ur dodge until he casts his move.

Yeah, I noticed that David is extremely easy with the charge shot.  I like the charge shot against him, personally, since it takes half his health, and he will only teleport around twice instead of many times with the bullet shooter.  I find this the case with most bosses now, so I'll probably go through and use the charge shot to save time.

As for the phone calls, I haven't found a way to avoid them.  I think if you visit the beauties between missions they won't call, but that wastes way too much time.

I'm currently (still) encoding a run that I did which was around 1:31:xx, but I know it can be shaved down a lot with further optimizations, especially since it's a really sloppy run at this point. Tongue Pretty much just a proof of concept.
if its a ng+ run, and ur not going for a AAA run u can get the dark arm though to help with everything, u earn less money during missions but get inf blood (i think its the reward for beating on very hard)
only mentioning bcuz of the talk of all the red cards u wanted to buy and the arm itself is only 15mil compared to the amount ull spend on cards that are 500k each
I have also found out just shooting enemies is the fastest way to clear most areas of the game, i was during ssword and massing blood in nightmare to execute them all (only way to kill is with cool kill/execute) and switching to the gun and using it for headshots had cleared levels for me in 1minute faster then previous times. n ot sure if you yourself use headshots for the mobs but its really fast.

Yeah, I've found headshots work the best on some of the mobs, but you mostly face them on the earlier episodes.  I refer to them as the dudes with the purple heads, and also the spaghetti faces go down after a shot or two to the face.  You're right about the cards Vs. the outfit in terms of monetary expenditures; I still haven't purchased it yet, though. Tongue

I was just practicing the Episode 7 boss, the samurai tiger dude, and found that the charge shot isn't all that useful, and my older method of attack, block, attack, guard break, attack, block, attack, guard break, etc. works the best (so far at least), and for his final phase to keep the combo from the first phase going, and dodging back twice instead of going for a burst rush on his attacks, and keeping the combo going.  I'm not all that great at burst rushing any of his attacks, so I just block them or straight up avoid.  If you know of a better strat, I'd love to hear it. Cheesy The Execution Time for it was around 1:05 if I remember correctly, and Job Time was 8:25 or so on that episode.  I really like that episode for some reason, even though it pisses me off sometime. Tongue

My shitty run is finally uploaded - I've already identified many areas to re-route, and other boss tactics in subsequent playithroughs, but at least I got a video. Tongue My audio keeps getting out of sync somehow, though, so I'll be trying a different method of recording in later runs.

Skipping Vivienne can be done with a well placed charge shot at the group of enemies.  It's easy enough to do on Episode 9, but Episode 6 takes a more precise shot since there are airborne enemies that can be missed.  Even if one enemy is left, Vivienne will show up and the cut-scene will play.  Just gotta make sure I have enough blood left over for another charge shot on the gold enemy at the top of the stairs instead of actually fighting him.  There is always Scarlett at that point, but it's another cut-scene.

All-in-all, charge shot is the best thing to use to speed things up, especially with a mob of enemies so you don't waste blood on adrenaline bursts for more than 3 enemies.  There's a lot of blood management with the normal suit that I'll need to dive into further.

I've gotten any% (Ultimondo + Dark Booster) down to about 1:13:29 RTA, but it can definitely be lowered by grinding routes and aiming/timing charge shots better.

My videos all suck, so I've yet to record a decent one.
I'm not sure if this is helpful or not but I think I found one enemy skip. It's in the bonus mission after the turret section with the bats. I did the dash cancel past where they spawned, moved back a bit, they spawned, and the cut scene played without me having to fight them.

That's pretty cool!  Hopefully there will be more spawn skips to be found.  So far, they've all been pretty scripted, but I'll have to go back and take some more looks; once I pick it back up again that is.
Have you given much thought into what a new game run of this would look like? I want to start giving it a go, but I'm not sure what upgrades to go for and in what order.
Always move forward, never sleep.
I haven't really touched NG, and don't have a desire to run it at the moment, but I have given it some thought.  I think getting the charge shot and upgrading that to it's fullest would be the best way to go, even if you have to go on a date to get it.  As far as other skills?  Probably getting GEKKOU Extreme, High Mobility LVL 2, and Charge Shot Ultimate would give the most benefit to a run.  Maybe Counter Shot and Counter Smash would be useful as well.

I can see visiting Scarlett a few times on an NG run as well, and she's not too far out of the way on some.  I first ran it with the normal Musselback, and had to conserve my Blood usage, but that was also with a max blood level.  I know I did visit Scarlett at least once.

Have you come up with anything for an NG run?  I'd love to see one.
Haven't had a chance to do a proper run of this version of the game, but I do run the console version if that can help in some way.

I've only ever done NG runs of the game and have managed to get a time of 1:53:30 waaaaayyyy back then and I know it could be improved. Don't really know whether it's Actually worth it to go out of the way to get the charge shot over just doing some combos and that execution move to one-shot.

Never payed much attention to each ability name but I do remember getting some specific ones like Mobility for faster movement, Extended combos and Musselback damage up for more damage on enemies and bosses, and getting the 'convert blood to health' ability as a safety net cause I'm bad Tongue

Don't know whether this happens on this version as well but for whatever reason the in-game timer carries over from old game saves, even if they are completely new files in the console version :/

I haven't done anything yet, I wanted to get some opinions on the upgrade routing before I tried. I was thinking , in no particular order;

-Counter Smash
-Bullet Shot Ultimate
-Change Cannon Neo (if it's worth the dates to get the cannon)
-High Mobility Lvl2
-Guard Crush
-Gekkou Extreme

Not sure how many moon crystals you'd be able to get in the run though. I'll start practicing to see what I can do.

This version is the same if you preordered the console version. You get an extra level, an extra beauty to date, and the Gigolo glasses at the start. That's odd that the timer would carry over, I haven't reset my game yet to check.
Did a test run and you easily have enough Moon Crystals to get the upgrades you need, you also have the option of buying some in the shop if you're short. Have to figure out when the best times to shop would be now.

I can find many benefits of having the charge shot, but can't remember just how long the dates take to get it.  2 Full charge shots can drop each phase of David, at least in Mission 4.  It can stagger the large enemies for a quick execution.  The armor of gold get stripped with a full blast.  I think it can hit both heads at once on the train boss.  The mission with the giant for a boss (9? 10? I forgot) it's possible to skip Vivienne with a single charge shot to the group of enemies before the bridge.

But then again, I also can't remember how long it takes to get the charge shot, and then to make it the most effective the upgrades for it would need to be purchased as well, so I'm not exactly sure if the time it would save is greater than the time it takes to get.  I should de-rust myself. Tongue

I think it's the last item. I know the drill is the second item so you'd have to go on at least 2 dates if it's the third, plus buying the gifts. Also if you go on more dates you get more messages from the beauties during missions.

I think you could use Betty to get them though so you wouldn't have to wait for the rest of the dates to unlock.
I was playing today and got this glitch;

http://www.twitch.tv/endlessfragment/c/5782546

During the paycheck for episode 10 I was somehow able to gain control of Mondo. The HP/Blood bar and weapon select came up and everything.
I've been doing some NG runs and got a 1:45.

Also found a graphical glitch in the first dream level (5th stage I think). The water doesn't load properly and the aura around the boss crashing down doesn't load either.

I'm going to start streaming more regularly if anyone wants to come watch.
Always move forward, never sleep.
I haven't ran Killer is Dead in a while since it's not running as smoothly as it used to on my PC, but I'm definitely down to see you stream it.
Cool, I'll look forward to seeing you around in my stream then. Trying to be more regular ~6PM~11PM EST if you want to catch it.

Also I already got a better time, a 1:44:35, and found a few things. You can body block the third phase of Alice so you don't have to chase her down with the bullet shooter, and an annoying glitch where Giant Head is immune to damage but it plays the damage sound and animation. I'll be keeping all of the stuff I come across in the highlight section on my twitch.
