Level 17 in 27;72

Beat LLCD's time by just over 2s. This leaves Levels 7,14 and 22 left then this is ready to submit!

I plan on doing level 7 but can someone else please do 14 and 22. Both levels needs a good strafe jumper.

Sorry for the triple post but Level 7 is done:

Level 7 in 64;58
Level 7 in 64;44
Level 7 in 56;35

OK so I discovered it's possible to get one sequence ahead. There are two places you can do this, where I do it and a little bit later you can strafe jump in to get the second code and just about creep through the blocks which I get to in this run at 19s in. The first method I find a lot easier as it's more about having good fast aim, the second I have managed several times but the strafe jumping and fall have to be spot on. Again the rest of the level is on the rails but I completed this level loads of times in order to get a good jump at the end which I feel is now pretty optimal.

IL Table:

Level 1: 41:87 ridd3r
Level 2: 20:22 ridd3r
Level 3: 12:24 LLCoolDave
Level 4: 18:43 ridd3r
Level 5: 19:85 ridd3r
Level 6: 23:43 Inexistence
Level 7: 56:35 ridd3r
Level 8: 16:27 ridd3r
Level 9: 25:48 ridd3r
Level 10: 28:58 LLCoolDave
Level 11: 19:87 ridd3r
Level 12: 37:32 Inexistence
Level 13: 20:71 LLCoolDave
Level 14: 19:70 LLCoolDave
Level 15: 18:66 LLCoolDave
Level 16: 38:95 Inexistence
Level 17: 27:72 ridd3r
Level 18: 26:88 ridd3r
Level 19: 19:22 ridd3r
Level 20: 19:43 ridd3r
Level 21: 13:93 ridd3r
Level 22: 11:85 LLCoolDave
Level 23: 30:83 ridd3r

Total time = 0:09:27

Complete!

Grappling Hook
Wow, the runs are awesome!
It is amazing how fast you rush through the levels.
It makes me to happy, that you enjoy the game. Smiley

EDIT: I've posted some videos of your runs and the playlist on the developer-website ( http://www.speedrungames.com/?p=611 ), ingame news and the games website.

What about the 8 extra levels?
we have lift off

Well they are like the advanced chambers in portal which don't have any runs currently. Although this game doesn't have a storyline as such the extra levels won't be required as they are just that, extra. I guess they could be added on to the table if someone decided to do them in the future but I'm only going as far as getting the main levels up to scratch.

I ran them. But they seem to be stuck in the verification process for a long time.
If those 8 levels are only bonus levels, then run them and submit them afterwards.
we have lift off
Update: The run was submitted about 2 weeks ago and the runners (me, LLCD and Inex) are verifying each others levels (cleared with Mike). I figured there wouldn't be an abundance of verifiers, but if you can verify then if you're quick you should be able to.

To finish off the submission I improved Level 11 down to 19;87 . LLCD and Inex did the route for this so all I did was improve the previous time. Also I felt like playing some Grappling Hook today and did runs for the first two extra levels, as I said above I never planned on doing them but runs for the first two levels just formulated in my mind and they are short so.... Here they are! . They will sit there until someone picks up the remaining 6 levels, so whoever does that just let me know when they are done ^_-

Oh yeah, the table above is up to date now, only 9:27 for all the levels!
I recently remembered that this game exists and have no idea why it apparently fell off the face of the earth. It's not even on Steam. Can you get this game anywhere at all anymore? Considering the vastly different speedrunning environment nowadays I can really see this getting attention.

Here's the reason why they don't sell it anymore: http://www.speedrungames.com/?cat=9

Because of the coming EU VAT law change I’ve to stop selling Grappling Hook. The new VAT rule says, that a company must pay VAT to each EU country, where the customers are living. This means a huge administrative burden, for which I haven’t enough time.

Kinda stupid. Dunno why this isn't an issue for the other game they sell. Try contacting them (christian@speedrungames.de) and see if they sell you a key.

I think they should make the game available for free if they can't profit from it anyway. Still better than turning it into abandonware.
I can't contact the creator at christian(at)speedrungames.de, weird. I guess I could still try to write a letter to the address listed on the contact page and see if that helps.
The game is now freeware:
