Does anyone know of any freeware, flash to avi converters that WORK? I've tried SWF2AVI (an older, free version) but it didn't work at ALL.

By importing a video into flash, editing it, saving it as a .swf, and then converting it again, it is possible to create really, really fancy video files. Does anyone here have any ideas on how I can do that?

If not, any ideas on freeware video editors (like Vdub, but different) that allows you to put text on the frames you want, popup pictures, sound editing... Vdub and Windows Movie Maker just DON'T cut it.

If you actually have Macromedia Flash, or at least the 30 day trial, it can export to AVI.

It can? *checks* I don't see anything for that. It can export as MOV files, but not AVI...

How about a free MOV to AVI converter? Grin

And yes, I have it. Macromedia Flash MX 2004 "Educational Edition"
Fucking Weeaboo
Huh.  I swear it published to AVI, but I guess I remembered wrong.

Now I honestly hope I remember right that Quicktime Pro does MOV to AVI conversion.

Omg, I was expierimenting with it, and you can EXPORT SWF files as AVI, but you can't SAVE SWF as AVi..... So confusing..... Oo;;

Thank you very much Cheesy

File -> export -> export movie.

edit- Looks like you found it.

edit-

Umm, I don't think you can even import a video without converting to the flash format. So basically this is not SDA submittable.

To do effects and stuff like that you'll need a video editor like Adobe Premiere, or Sony Vegas Studio, etc.

I have put AVI videos into flash before. Very easy to import.
What version are you using? I have Flash 8 Professional and when I try to import the file, I'm forced to choose one of their codecs instead of keeping it lossless.

Flash MX 2004 Educational Edition

It loses some quality when it is imported, but it still works.

Is there a way to put transparent images into flash, keeping them transparent?

That's what I thought. Good for youtube or whatever, not for SDA. Hit the torrent sites and get a better video editor. I heard Sony Vegas Studio is good.

So....Expensive...

I'll check it out though. Thanks :3

Now what does that have do with anything?  Wink

Lets just say I'm not in the mood to spend $1099.99 on a piece of software....
Eh, I guess you're not familiar with torrentspy or piratebay then.

1) Download BitTorrent program such as ABC BitTorrent, utorrent, or the like.

2) Install downloaded program.

3) Download .torrent file from website of choice.

4) Open .torrent file in installed BitTorrent program.

5) Let computer download.

This is fairly basic.  Additional configuration may be needed if you're behind a firewall.
Learn how to use google.

I tried all of that. I kept getting an error though, even after turning off my firewall.

EDIT: woot, it seems to be working. After it downloads or whatever, will an install wizard run? Or how does it work?

Wait and find out.

From this point on, you'll get more answers/help by searching on google.

Lol, okay, I'll be quiet now. Tongue Thanks for your help :3
Well, I'm not saying I don't want to help you anymore, just that there are few if any people here at SDA that are experienced with Sony Vegas Studio.
... oO;
Oh, I don't need help with that Grin I was asking for help with the Torrent files.

...

Dang, it disconnected again -_-; I'll just run this overnight..
