Hi, i became interested in speedruns about a year ago and i am currently planning a Fallout Tactics speedrun and have several questions regarding this:

-Would anyone be interested in watching this run?
-How will getting the times work. I would assume that you only count the time spend on missions, because the worldmap-travels are way too random.
--If you would count the overall time, would it be allowed to disable random enounters. (The chances that this happens witheout modifaction are rather slim, but you can reach any mission witheout a single encounter)
--If you only count the time spend on mission, am i allowed to lvl up in the wasteland. If not i needed to show my whole team at the start of each mission.
-I am using the german version of this game. The lates german patch is 1.25, the latest us patch 1.27. What to do?
-Am i allowed to enable gore in the german version (this requires modifying a game file)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
What i am currently planning:

1 Segment for every mission:
Segment starts at bunker and will cover my way to the misison as well as the mission itself and the way back to the bunker. This does of course not apply to first first and last mission Wink

ST 5
PE 8
EN 6
CH 8
IN 6
AG 8
LK 6

Traits: Gifted|Quickshot
Skill Focus: Small Guns|Stealth|Barter

Perks: I wont get alot of perks, cause i am planning to run/sneak past many enemys. But those should be helpfull: Tunnel-rat|Devine Favor|Bonus-Ammunation|Running silently (the one where you can run cloaked)

With Bonus Ammunation and Quickshot i can fire a sniper rifle for only 2 AP and a burst weapon for only 3 AP. THis will help alot against anykind of enemy.

Other characters will mainly build up weapon skills and other supportive skills.

Items to grab: I wont loot much and wont grab much items, expect for EMP-Shotgun rounds. I will collect every single EMP round, as well as the Jackhammer. Some enemys have a really high amount of ammo (the robots in the generator mission for example (they carry more than 400 MFC each)). I will loots those also. Another problem is money. To do the last missions really fast i need power armor, which is expensive. This means that i will gamble for the whole brotherhood armory at bunker delta and sell em back the whole stuff with my main char  Grin This should provide me with enough cash to get the power armor. Drugs will be used in this run, mainly to get certain perks and to get better recruits/equipment at certain points.
--------------------------------

What to expect (visually):
I will do this run on the easy mode. Hence i can pretty much run at most enemys and SG them down. Against masses I will use a sniper storm (6 snipers getting into range cloaked and then boom).
This works pretty well until mutants. Before the APC mission i will get myself some nice heavy weapon recruits and will collect .50 ammo for the m2 browning as much as i can. Run until you get a 66% hit chance and fire the browning. Repeat. Once i meat robots the things will get tricky. There is the tesla armor which makes you nearly invinvible to enemy energy weapons, but those nasty bots have also miniguns and sniper rifles. So it will be mainly memorizing who has a energy weapon and then sending the right guy in. The whole EMP-shells are saved for the last mission. My main char should have 199% small arms when i finally reach vault 0 and he will go in with a gauss and the jackhammer  completely dominating every single bot  8)

Because many mission are rather linear i am curretnly looking for advanced tactics and glitches, that should speed up the whole proccess. Suggestions tricks and tips are welcome.

To give you an example: When freeing the matriarch I will go to the pit through the mud-whole. This leads me directly to the trapped deathclaws. I free them (they are still hostile at this moment) and after that i free the matriarch. This allows me to run for the exit and i usually have to wait about 5 seconds at teh exit, until the beastlord emperor dies Smiley Takes about 5 minutes (I havent started recording times yet). Another one would be the mission were you kill the brotherhood traitor (last mutant mission) I will go through the tunnel and just run past the guads, blow up some barrels smah into the traitors room and smoke him out with a flame thrower (if he doesnt get me with the damn thompson first)  Roll Eyes

I should stop writing now and continue planning my routes. See you soon, maggots (old BoS joke :P)

p.s. sorry for me bad translation of some skills/perks etc.

I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
How come no one answered this yet??
I mean you wrote so much and I think its worth appreciating!

I never played Fallout: Tactics, just Fallout1 und 2.
Maybe thats the problem you get no response here. Everybody just played Fallout 1 and 2.

I fell sorry for that.
i wish you do it

To answer your questions, Faskalia :

-I, for one, would be very interested in watching a run of this (never could finish the dang game)
-I think timing should include world travel times. It is an important part of the game, and since some special encounters (Brahmin Poker) are quite benefitial to get, it might be a good idea to actually wander the map(This would mean you would have to focus on having at least one person with 100% outdoorsman skill, to cut down that time and skip unnecessary encounters)
-Not sure what you mean by this next question. There is a way to disable random encounters?
-Probably not - it wouldn't make much sense, considering that you could probably level up to 7 or so before doing the second mission. This wouldn't be very fair.
-Dont know what to say about this problem. Maybe you could buy/download the US Version?
-Doesnt matter, I guess? Although playing with the max level of gore isn't really that important  ;D.

I also have a few questions for you :

-Are you using CTB, individual, or squad-based turn modes? I think it's pretty obvious that CTB would be the way to go, but there are plenty of places where squad-based would be better (sneaking through and killing beastlords in the Quincy mission in both the Town Hall and where the mayor is kept is one that comes to mind).
-Why pump charisma to 8? I know getting some of the big recruits later on is a good idea, but if you min-max the beginner ones you can make them into quite a fighting machine, without your own character suffering. I think this layout would be better, especially if you have the gifted trait :
ST: 5
PE: 10
EN: 5
CH: 2
IN: 10
AG: 10
LK: 5
This gives you 20 skill points at level-up, getting you to that 199% small arms much faster, and also gives you a high AC, 10 AP, and increases your 95% distance with small arms (10 PE). It doesn't get you divine favour, but I believe that perk is a bit over-rated. You only get it at 15, but since most people end the game at around 24-25, it would either net you 0 or 1 extra perks. I dont think this is a good trade-off for 8 CH. Even in your setup, dropping CH to 2 would let you bunp AG to 10 for 10 AP, LK to 8 for more criticals, and IN to 6 for more skills, or EN for more hit points.
-Why run it on easy? that lets you basically charge at everything other than someone with a rocketlauncher or (maybe) M2. I think running it on easy would be both a better challenge and viewing experience.

Thanks for your time.

I have never played Fallout but searched about this game. It seems quite interesting and after getting a little bit idea about this game, I would love to buy it. One of my friend have Fallout 4 Kaufen that he bought 2 months ago from some online store at very cheap price. So thinking to ask him for this game.
