Not a Zelda 2 refrence
if we have to do the speech checks anyway getting a decent weapon and killing benny would probably be faster right? You could get a shotgun of a fiend and probably 1 hit kill him.
There are a few other ways to get into the bos bunker without taking the quest or picking the lock.
If you find a dead BOS member they will have a password you can use to open the bunker, there is one on the way to black mountain, and one by the boomers.
it would be possible to do it so we would only need to visit the tops once.
get Today's Physician from docs office, get Programmer's Digest from mailbox in goodsprings, go to mclarian->strip,
If 75 hacking was possible, use Today's Physician to get a med of at least 35 and level up on speech check with house until you get a science of 55-65, use Programmer's Digest to kill house, do boomes searching bos body, bos, kahns, omerats, white glove, kill benny, yes man

so the advantages of that rout would be
don't need to talk to swank
only vist tops once

disadvantages would be
need to level up twice talking to house ( some other method? ) with a starting science of 42 would need 550 XP  to get to 65 science, that's 15-16 skill checks
spend a few seconds getting skill magazines
spend a few seconds to get bos corpse

don't know if it would be worth it.
If there was a quick way to get to level 2 (200xp) in goodsprings it would be better, because you could cut 10% off the travel time.
Dead BOS dont have passcard. This is dead end.

It works, I just tested it, as soon as I got out of docs house I head over to black mountain and searched the dead BOS in the radioactive pit ( the item with the password is called mission holotape or something ), fast traveled to hidden Vally, used intercom and in a few seconds the doors opened like normal.
The boomer one is probably closer to the rout unless there is a quick way out of the pit.
This is dead end anyway. You need fast travel. Fastest way to get it, is to kill benny. Getting to yes man is faster right after killing benny.
Yes man is not a problem after we descovered what trigger yes man in front of tops.
I think may be killing first house (after hacking hard terminal) =>benny=>yes man=>omerta=>tribes can be faster. Yes man will be waiting for you in 38. So you dont need to go to tops after visiting tribes.

Part 2. Name and description/tags are screwed up and cannot be saved, maybe it'll be fixed later.

Part 3. Final game time at "endgame" is 35:39, 2 minutes better than my previous run.

don't know what you mean by that, if you where going to kill house first it would be worth doing bos first too.

It would be better to do the boomers first and substation later, it would mean you need to fast travel two less times.
I'm not convinced your paths to hidden valley and black mountain are quicker
you can quick save at the end of the demonstration to save some time
you did the wrong dialog options vs the yes man when you where talking about the tribes, cost you a bunch of time
I think the ending would have been quicker if you tossed him off the dam.

Part 2.
Here and there some small "not perfections", like when you visited khans you can fast travel 2 seconds earlier. You dont need to wait for quest complete label.

I mean not fast travel but travel light - 10% speed boost. So you need about 900XP.

Dead end cause additional visiting yes man cost only about 30 seconds.

No his way is good. May be he can avoid speaking with supermutant on way to black mountain if take path little to left.

I know that, but forgot about it. As usual.

Don't think so, hm.

Can't disagree with that. Would be great if you tell me some more of them, big ones.

To the right, you mean? Yep I could actually, dunno why I didn't do that.

Actually you can punch air to avoid supermutant. Running from bunker to Black mountain a little faster if you take route near crater and up to hill and fence, but luck is needed to be able to fast travel from fence.

Running from graveyard to BOS can be done couple of seconds faster. You just need to run strait line.

You can save 1-2 seconds on Dam on your way to legate camp if you cut corner near small bridge.

Yeah, my mistake.
So, what do we have? Nobody is active for a while now, it's pretty sad.
Speedrun is done. Nobody want to make it final and put on sda. Look at crysis2 speedrun - half of year in verification stage.

so now you can get all the starting weapons without preorder
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Courier%27s_Stash
this gives you tons of stims, weapons, and if you sell them money at the start of the game
shame none of them are holdout weapons beacuse that's the only guy you need to kill
still the grenade rifle has really good dps
Challenge accepted.

what is the challenge?

KGrubz I watched your speedrun from 7 months ago and while good I'd say it's far from optimal:

- You don't sprint a single time in the game
- You're unsure of where to put your points from leveling
- Places where you just stand around..?
- Mods/Extra content used
- Avoidable items grabbed(?)

Anyways do we have a record somewhere or what is the current reference for doing runs?

My old practice run (with a lot of tips from other speedrunners) still seems to be the fastest atm. You must've missed it, just take a look at previous pages, you'll find a discussion about it.

the only things diffrent from his practice runs are that the preorder stuff is now completely legal beacuse it has been released as normal dlc. So you should start with a few more stims and some good weapons. And an armor jump near the end would save a lot of time.
I've never been able to do it under fire, but it should be quicker to kill all the nearby enemies and do it, then just run past.
I've actually been thinking single segment might be the way to go. Unlike fo3, the only place that uses luck is bos pickpocketing, and it would give you an excuse to skip the armor hop.
Single Segment with Resets might be even better beacuse it would let you skip conversations, and give you multiple pickpocket chances

You can't sprint in Fallout
Found a way to skip a couple seconds of Yes Man's demonstration in the basement of The Lucky 38. Immediately after he says "New Vegas finally has soliders worthy of protecting it" if you get near the door, go into third person and rotate the camera to a certain angle, you can choose a floor to go to. By choosing Casino, you are skipping about 15 seconds more of his speech and the walk down to the Casino. I tested this on Xbox 360 on the most current patch.
nice i need to try that

here is my fastest run

Only pick up is off benny thats it plus bos key
holy shit lol never even saw the light travel till just now fml
