Quote from Essentia:
I just found a way to save ~10 seconds during the cutscene where Melchior repairs the Masamune. First, put Lucca and Marle in your party, then use the fadeout glitch to skip talking to Melchior when you first enter his hut. Then when you go downstairs to repair the Masamune, Lucca will remain in your party and it'll skip all of her actions and dialogue. This saves time by not having to wait for either Lucca or Robo to walk around, check the books, pick up the cup and rock, or say anything at all. Also, for some reason Robo gets put back into your party afterwards.

that´s very good tip, just tried it out today and saved some time.
Hey, I'm just getting into learning CT, and I head something about a Future Skip being mentioned during C4L, but havent found anything online about it. Does anyone here know the details of it?
From what i have heard, it involves using the save anywhere glitch when you escape from the prison (on the screen where the guards chase you into the forest) to get behind the guards.
However its supposedly really hard to pull off outside of TAS, im not even sure if it's possible to sequence break the game that way.
Messed with my X position to get passed the guards, just to see what would happen. Some strange stuff occurred, but nothing that would allow me to skip the future. Beginning to think this might be just a rumour, but I'll keep looking for info
Future skip is just a rumor, as far as I know.
Here is an up-to-date document of the current route: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-oYVyKncfh0d25vUndVankwYzQ/edit?usp=sharing
thanks, I'll check that out. I watched the TAS which i believe is yours, and have been trying to learn the lavos shell skip. I was able to reproduce it once using save states, but have you looked into doing it in real time as well? It seems that the hardest part is getting Robo in position when activating the three portals at the bucket.
I tried the shell skip a little, but didn't manage to do it. Even on tas, it was very difficult. You need indeed to have Robo at the right spot, and you also need to have the three gate messages in the right order, which is random. If it can help, the third message has to be confirmed just after Robo joins the other characters (but not too late), otherwise it won't work.
I have been able to fairly consistently get the 1999 > bangor dome > tyrano fortress in the proper order, and get the party into a seemingly proper position. The difficulty I am currently facing is that the outcome of the trick seems to be dependent on the frame you say "Yes" to the 1999 portal. Even though none of my party members are moving while the 1999 dialogue is up, depending on how long I wait, the party might gather immediately or stay in place. Then depending on when I say "yes" to bangor dome, it seems to affect whether I slide up or to the left as expected.
I was able to get save anywhere to carry over to 1999 AD, and I think a potential lavos shell skip could work similar to the zombor skip. To get save anywhere, I went to the bucket and repeatedly switched characters so I could move to the save point before warping. I'm not sure if this has been previously explored though
Yes, the moment where you say yes on bucket messages affects the outcome Sad
