Hi, I've never been to these boards before, but I love watching the speed runs. I just read about using DS Lites for speed runs, and I think it would be hilariously entertaining to watch Brain Age speed runs. I'd love to do it myself, but I don't think I'll be picking up a DS lite, nor do I have a digital camera.

Sorry if this has been posted already. As I stated, I'm completely new.
Thread title:
Man I agree!  A Brain Age speedrun would be extremely entertaining!  I hope somebody does one.

I haven't even played Brain Age but I do have to say that just this thread existing is one of the funniest things I've seen on SDA in a while.

Edit: OTOH, at least getting speedrun-worthy skill at the game would have a purpose and make you super smart!!

Finally! A speed run to make us simple people feel stupid Tongue I'd watch it

I'd really like to watch somebody manage the Connect Maze really fast (I usually take several seconds just to find the next letter/number).  Obviously a 15-second Calculations x 20 would be impressive.  And a videotaped Stroop test would be funny as all heck, especially if 3 or 4 people were yelling out the answers.

And has anybody here seen hard mode on Triangle Math yet?  10 problems take me over 150 seconds.

(I don't think Sudoku would work for a speed run; there's no proof that you didn't already solve the puzzle and just copy the answers.  I remember doing exactly that in Mario's Picross years ago.)

Seriously I think Brain Age could be great for speed-running.

You can beat Sudoku? I tried the pencil and paper version. It seems frickin impossible.

(here I go off-topic)

Brain Age's sudoku is cool, because to start you off it gives you insanely easy puzzles.  They still take 10-15 minutes each for me to solve, but they have enough numbers already revealed that they are a good way to learn sudoku.  And, it allows you to enter in possible answers into each square as tiny numbers if you are not sure of the answer yet.  Without that feature I would never be able to complete a sudoku puzzle.

I have seen sudoku puzzles on store shelves.  Those have so few numbers already revealed (and no easy way to write down possibilities and erase them as you eliminate them) that I don't think I could ever solve one.

Brain Age also has harder sudoku puzzles, but I've never seen the doozies because I haven't unlocked hard mode.

But to be honest I have lost interest in sudoku.  I have only solved 10% or so of Brain Age's sudoku puzzles, and now I don't even play them Sad For me the addiction was short-lived (even though I am still not good at them at all).

Sudoku's popularity has always confounded me. Tongue

新世紀進歩的羽扇子 音楽
it seems harder than it actually is...so it makes you feel smart when you do it! ^_^

or at least that's what i get out of it.  i did a couple and it was like..."this is rather dull"...

that said, i'd never watch this speed run, but it'd still be cool if someone did it, i think.
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
Chris Jones from SFX Newcastle? (I'm Matt C).

Sorry if you're just a guy sharing the same name as someone I know.

PwNzRd!
I feel smart after completing one of the insanely difficult ones (takes me about 3 hours to do). You know, the five-star difficulty "Evil" ones they talk about. Oh, and when I saw the topic, I thought this was one of those bot created topics to push BrainAge product. Glad I was wrong.
Yes, a cucco riding the ground.
Heh, sudokus... I have a book of 300 super mega hard ones, and it took me about 4 hours to finish just one. I don't write and erase, though; that just seems like a waste of effort and it's more rewarding to work through it without erasing anyway.

On topic: I haven't played Brain Age, so I'm not sure about it, but I'd watch a speedrun, I suppose.
Retired
...

If you can speedrun Brain Age, you need to be making a lot of money because you're smart as hell and have amazing skills and abilities and reflexes...
Brain Age only trains a certain type of intelligence, which doesn't necessarily lead to making tons of money, but can help in such a quest.
As far as Brain Age is concerned, your brain naturally deteriorates from the moment you reach 20 until you die.  That concept bugs me a little.

Oh shit, only a few months of optimal brain power for me left... better start drinking...

Welp, I'd watch this, although the fastest possible time is 20 days.

EDIT: And 15 second calc x 20 wouldnt be impressive. I have 13.2 seconds, and my idiot friend has 13.74.
Oh Smiley I shouldn't be surprised that people are faster than me.

My fastest is 17 seconds.
I like this site name cause it's easy to remember.
We'll have to do a speedrun by high score selection. Everyone post your best times and stuff, and then we'll all try to force the person with the best times to do the run!

I'm not going to post mine, because they really suck... >_<

Aww I missed the Sudoku discussion... well I must say that I have a page-a-day calender and a book of 400 puzzles and I am loving it... especially when Saturday comes around with a hard puzzle... so far through May 20th I have only been unable to solve one puzzle in the calender... and for some reason it's only a medium difficulty.  :-/ And for the record, I try my darndest to avoid the guess and check method.  Patterns ftw! Grin

So yeah... if somebody did a speedrun of Brain Age, I would probably mail them some cookies, watch the run, and then mail them some more cookies... except I don't think you really want to eat cookies from some random lurker. :|

EDIT: woot, finally figured out that one puzzle! /me dances
