We both like money! Friends?
So I made a video tutorial on how to speedrun Braid. I only included the most difficult strategies. I think I will make a compilation video on how to do some alternative strategies for the hardest parts.

Feel free to give me feedback but I won't be making them again so it does not matter too much Wink

So I made a Braid speed run leaderboard. Hope it works. It's the first time I made a google doc to be shared by all.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0Aqo0WntNuLjgdDZGV3NvSnRCODlUWi1FZlZYWXhVTGc&output=html

PM me if you want your run added. Use SDA or twitch message to www.twitch.tv/KanBan85
Cool leaderboard Smiley
Just a few ideas: you could add a position number before the names Cheesy and also maybe add Shaun's time ^_^

But thanks for the doc, it's cool!

FYI

"(I am going to put out a Braid update on Steam just to fix some bugs that have been piling up over the years)."

Don't update if you're not sure, it might break some mods/speedrun tricks. No clue what bugs he is thinking of yet.

EDIT: Oh, you can probably see for yourself what he has planned Smiley

"There is a beta of Braid, with some Windows fixes, on Steam. The password is Braid2013Yeah (I guess you can't do a beta w/out a password?)"

https://twitter.com/Jonathan_Blow/status/415583058121601024

"I have a few more fixes to make, and after that if no calamities happen, I will switch this to the main build."

OK. So I tried the beta, and for now I didn't see anything going bad for speedrun. I tried ladder glitches, skips (W1 especially), Cascade, 2-7 collision glitch, rabbit skip; all of those bugs are still living for now Cheesy
So nothing to fear I think Wink Imo, Jonathan Blow just wanted to fix some errors more than glitches. I'm still waiting for the next update, but I'm relieved Cheesy
And just to let you know, I'm sure I was in the beta because the puzzle were glitched. He tried to fix some mouse problems but for now you can't do any puzzle, either using a pad or a mouse (the cursor cannot move on the "y" axis, only on "x").

And, anyway, that would be probably a bad thing, but speedruns would still be able to play on an older version of the game since the update will be available on Steam only Wink for instance, I currently can play on both versions on my comp, cause I have a no-DRM install, and the steam version Cheesy

And oh, we're 12/25, so Merry X-mas everyone Cheesy and may the Braid speedrun live long!

EDIT: Verdict is positive: https://twitter.com/Jonathan_Blow/status/415875231417262080

Also, just FYI, he finally decided to stop working on fixing some things atm: https://twitter.com/Jonathan_Blow/status/415944476708704256
That is great to hear Cheesy
Happy New Year Everyone Cheesy
Hope you had a great NYE and that 2014 will bring us a new WR a.s.a.p!

Just in case you don't know, I did my last speedrun of 2013 not on Braid but on "Another Perspective", I won't put the link here cause it's a post on Braid, but you can find it on my YT channel if you want :p

May 2014 be good to you, happiness, money, love, and all that you can dream of Smiley

See you soon!
I'm so disapointed Sad my run was going very well until W6... I finished W5 with a 12 sec save compared to WR, but then I f*cked up Cascade...

Good luck to break WR next time!
And i hope in 2014 you finally submit new Braid run to SDA. Officially we still have only prehistoric run 27:50.  It should be updated after all.
And probably to have also offical 6-star run will be cool Roll Eyes

Yes I already have a pretty decent 6-stars run, I might submit it at the same time as my any% run Wink
If no one beats my 24:21 before May I think I'll submit it anyways Wink but I'm getting close those days so I still have hope Cheesy
We both like money! Friends?
So, got new PB

Only 0.6 sec faster though, but this thread is not very active so I'd thought I'd post something Tongue

We both like money! Friends?
Remember, Braid will be on this week's SSB! (Two days from now).

Hi. I don't know if this is this is a dumb question or not but i was wondering if the ps3/xbox version is slower compared to the pc version. Mostly overall or at certain parts. I also ask this because most seem to run this on pc. Also, I have it on console and it might slow down on my pc.
We both like money! Friends?
Don't think it matters as the in-game timer will run at game speed regardless. But I don't know for sure. I think most Braid runners use PC because of the easiness of streaming compared to streaming x-box,
Yeah that makes sense. Thanks for the response.
I agree with Kanban85 100%, it's much easier to stream computer ^_^ but yeah the game might slow down sometimes depending on your machine...

Any Braid runners or people who know/like this game going to be at SGDQ?  I'm running it on July 5th and looking for some couch members.  Let me know.

Oh that's some good news ^^ but I think no one here will be attending SGDQ irl :/ GL to you anyway, I'll be supporting from France ^^
Congratulations Cwolf20 for your run at SGDQ, it was very nice! Cheesy
