Age Of Mythology Speedrun

Hey guys-
im REALLY sorry if this is posted in the wrong section- this is evidently my first time posting on the forums. Anyways, i wanted to know if an Age Of Mythology segmented Speedrun would be accepted? I am rated first in the world online at Lightning mode and i hold the majority of records for speedruns on all 32 levels- on both VGR + Cyberscore.

Again, sorry if i've posted this in the wrong section- I have read the FAQ', but im still a bit puzzled

I can't think of any reason a segmented run wouldn't be accepted if your files meet quality standards, you don't use any cheats or hacks, and you're as fast as it sounds like you are.

I love this game... there was a project a while ago but it just died out... It would be awesome if you submitted a run, make sure to check out the Tech Support forum before you start recording so that you get a publishable quality before you pour your heart and soul into a run that will get rejected for too low video quality.

I checked your times at cyberscore when you made this topic and I remember I saw quite a few times that were far lower than what we (in the old topic) had achieved, so it seems you have some new strategies. But on the other hand some were slower, so make sure to check out the old topic.

Yeah I contacted Bolddengren through Youtube a month or two ago- and he pointed me to that topic. I learned a couple things from that thread- some good strats from him. Though., it hink most of my times are faster than his by at least 10 seconds or so. The ones in which he is quicker in he is only quicker by a couple , so i think i have this run down well. I've tried to convince him to start speedrunning it again, so we can get a bit of competition going- he says he has a bit of time, so he "might try and beat me if he can "

Though. i cannot start filming until i cget the funds to buy FRAPS- which should take a few days or so.
Im going to try and " perfect" every level i can - this ecord is very important to me for many reasons
-This will be my first (of many?) Speedruns for SDA , and it’s a really big honor to get your run on here.
- To be the best at speed running such a great game like AOM is really amazing.
- I have contacted some old friends at Guinness - and they have agreed to verify the record as an official Guinness World Record pending my completion of it.
- If my record is verified- this record will by my 20th Guinness World Record – so it will be a bit of a landmark for me

Btw Matthijs Triep- my scores/ times on Cyberscore for AOM are a bit outdated for a few of them- if you go to VGR (http://www.vgr-fr.com/index.php5?c=groupe&id=8861) - my best times are seen there -

Aswell as that Matthijs Triep, I have alot of times on CS + VGR that i haven't made much of an effort at all to improve ( e.g 21 , 24, 26 , 27, 31 etc)
I'm saving my best for when i start recording

Did you get all records? I checked your times on that site again to see you got 2:25 for Isis, hear my plea, which is good. I improved my 2:27 to 2:25 some time ago (not long after we had messaged each other on youtube), but I got it like 10 times (and 5 times or so, it was about a .2 decimal Angry

), so 2:24 should be possible.

I look forward to some video's.

The video i actually recorded got 2:26 unfortunately. Though i might re-record a few of them, because i know i can do better.
The only levels i am having troubles with are having trouble with beating the records in are #1 + #6. I dont know what im doing wrong in #1, because as far as i know, im doing it as well/better than the record.

I already have the record in #23, but goodness me, its so hard to get a "Perfect score " in. ~6 Minutes is achievable, but it would take an insane amount of Luring + luck

Are these individual level speedruns? I forget how AoM works...nothing carries over between levels correct? And what difficulty is this on?

Yes, AoM is individual level, nothing carries over. It works the same as AoE2(makes sense, as it's by the same people), where once you unlock a mission, you can just freely pick and choose that level from the main campaign screen.

Yeah 3 more levels to go, and i have beaten the records on all levels- except, i cannot do it for the " tug of war" level # 13- Bolddengren claims to have gotten a time i cannot even get close to by somehow speeding up the Osiris piece- how can that be done? Ive tried numerous ways and i cannot get it to work O_o

Here you go... it lags, and the sound is for some reason off.

But hopefully it displays the tactic. Basically you use the mechanic of grouping units together, when they are far apart from eachother.
It was first second try, right after school and I am abit rusty... But hopefully you can use the trick and make a crazy time, as I am pretty sure it can be improved.

My final time is 2:33:21
It will take a while to upload, because my files add up t 178 GB of video
apparently its the biggest file SDA has ever had to deal with lol

Once im finished this Sedrun, im moving on to Age Of Mythology: The Titans. Ive been practicing some of the levels lately, and some of them are really fun to play, so its likely i will get a good time on that game.

I welcome the competition Bolddrengen!
